About this property

Glamper Cabin off-grid in NW Flagstaff: Best Snow in AZ, 4x4 required in winter

Darling and super cozy off-the-grid glamping cabin, perfect for creating special memories for you and your besties! Experience environmentally friendly, eco-conscious and sustainable vacationing in this stunning location. Unbelievable views of the San Francisco Peaks, gorgeous glistening aspen groves, graceful pine trees, wildlife sightings, and good old fashioned eco therapy will soothe your soul and ease away your tension. Close to the Grand Canyon! Just 1/2 mile off the Arizona Trail! Hike 6 miles to Snowbowl! Beautiful aspen forests abound!

This darling camper cabin has one bedroom with a queen sized bed (2 guests), and has two pull out couches for up to four additional guests. The well stocked kitchen has all the cookware and utensils you’ll need for cooking, including a propane cooktop and oven, as well as a cooler for your use (bring ice). A gas barbecue is on site as well. The wood stove kicks out a ton of heat to keep you toasty while you sip on steamy hot chocolate. During summer months the use of the woodstove may be restricted in accordance to Forest Service mandated fire restrictions. Gather around the gas operated fire pit in the backyard for some R&R. Tons of activities will keep you occupied, including hiking and biking on the nearby Arizona Trail (just 1/2 mile away), or even sledding on your very own private 2 acre piece of paradise! The property backs on the National Forest for limitless recreation opportunities. In the evening crack open a book, or start playing a game with your besties to close out a long day.

The property is completely off the grid, making it very appealing to those travelers and adventurers who want to create a minimal carbon footprint on their vacation. The kitchen sink has a hand pump that draws water from under the sink from a 10 gallon water jug. We have a new underground water storage tank with a frost free hand pump, which will provide all the water you will need for your stay. We have built a little rustic outdoor shower, which you are welcome to use. There is a shower bag for your use (as long as the wind hasn't blown it to Snowbowl), however you may prefer to bring your own. We recently installed a solar powered lighting system and cell phone charging capability. There are no regular power outlets. Cell service is available in the area depending upon your carrier. The outdoor composting toilet is super clean with little or no odor.

Check out the cute hanging trampoline teepee tent! It’s so fun! As with any swing or hanging device there’s inherent risks, enjoy at your own risk. But yes, bring a sleeping bag along and you can sleep in it. It’s super duper comfortable!! The teepee tent is down during the winter months.

The cabin is located at 8200’ in the San Francisco Peaks in the pines and aspens. Snowshoe or cross country ski, hike or bike, go sledding or snowmobiling, or just good old fashioned relaxation will make the time fly by.

If that’s not enough check this out:

a) it’s just 5 miles to the Arizona Nordic Center for incredible cross country ski trails
b) it's just 18 miles to Snowbowl for chairlift rides or world class downhill skiing
c) it's just 20 miles to the hip town of Flagstaff for fantastic restaurants, golfing, shopping, coffee shops and museums
d) it's just 60 miles to historic Williams with the Bearizona wildlife park and the popular Grand Canyon Railway
d) it's just 60 miles to the world famous Grand Canyon. This is one of the closest available private rental cabins to the Grand Canyon
e) it’s just 50 miles to gorgeous Sedona, making it a perfect day trip!
f) and last but not least, it’s right next to the Kendrick Snowmobile Trails, which offer 54 miles of unbeatable snowmobile adventures!

The property is located approximately 2.1 miles off the main highway down a forest service road. The road is in excellent shape during the summer months. During winter you MUST have a 4WD vehicle to access the property, particularly if there has been a significant snowfall recently. During a snowy period, access may require either cross country skiing, snowshoeing or snowmobiling to the property from the main highway (approx 2.1 miles). If you get stuck on the road it will be your own responsibility. Please check with the owner a couple days prior to your visit to check on road conditions during the winter.

Cozy and Convenient
We enjoyed our stay in the cozy cabin. We selected it as a launch point for a number of day trips around Northern Arizona and found it very convenient. Our communications with the host were pleasant, and we had everything we needed for a rustic adventure. We also lucked out with perfect fall weather and many deer sightings!

Peaceful Retreat
Wonderful stay at the aspens near Flagstaff. We had come for a Grand Canyon hike and the Glamper Cabin was an excellent staging place to stay. Loved coffee in the porch swings in the morning and my son loved the teepee tent/swing.

Spring Break Getaway
My husband and I had an amazing stay at the Glamper Cabin. Of course, the area had a major snowfall a couple of days before we got there (we heard from the locals it's the 2nd snowiest season on record). Kaija and her husband went up the day before we got there and dug the place out for us (including the fire pit!) It was quite the experience we will never forget. The drive into the cabin was an adventure itself. We snowshoed one day and went to the Grand Canyon another and just hung out, read, played games. We met one of the sweetest neighbor pups, Happy, and a cute skunk that was checking us out through the kitchen window. The cabin was super cozy and clean. The only thing that was a bummer was the sauna was screaming at us to be used (since we couldn't use the outdoor shower), but we understood the reasonings why, but it really would have made the experience from 100% great to 200% amazing. We would love to come back and explore the area more - maybe next time in the fall to get a different perspective. It really is a special place.

Nice property!
Nice cabin with ample space to go snowsledding. We spent a lot of time outdoors despite the cold. Check in was straight forward and easy. Property was clean and had plenty of kitchen necessities. Wood was stored close by, which was super convenient. We will definitely stay again!

A Stunning Off-Grid Cabin Experience
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Glamper Cabin! This cabin is situated on a beautiful piece of land with stunning mountain views. During our stay, my pup and I enjoyed our simple daily routine which included morning coffee followed by a walk. In the afternoon we would stoke the wood fire in order to keep the cabin cozy and warm. This offered up the perfect opportunity to read a good book that I had recently put on hold. In the evenings we would get outside for another long walk and watch the sun disappear behind the San Francisco Peaks. Back at the cabin, the daily light would slowly fade to darkness, as the flames from the fire provide a magical glow and ambiance. Our stay provided the chance to truly unplug and get reconnected with solitude. I would highly recommend the Glamper Cabin for anyone who is seeking a memorable off-grid cabin experience. We look forward to our next stay!

The quintessential cabin getaway!
This was our third time at the Glamper Cabin, and hopefully not our last! I'm so grateful we found this place. It's the cozy cabin in the woods I've been searching for for years. It's well stocked with everything you need (and almost nothing you don't, like electronics!). There are plenty of pots and pans for cooking, a big canister of hot coco, lots of warm blankets and board games, and oodles of peace and quiet! And it's a short walk down the road from the beautiful Arizona Trail, so you can wonder in the woods as long as you like. My soul feels rejuvenated once again!

This rental was great for what I needed. A solo trip to to rest and let nature feed my soul. This cabin was perfect for just that!! Peaceful, quiet, comfortable and everything I needed to sustain myself for several days. The AZ trail is a must! Sitting on the porch swing while the thunderstorms rolled in and a hot tea in hand was just what I needed. I will be back!! Thank you for such a great stay 😊

The Best of Minimalist Glamping
This Flagstaff cabin nestled among aspen and pine trees is a true treasure; an opportunity to live a minimalist lifestyle in order to enjoy a simpler, more purposeful & peaceful cabin experience. It has all the creature comforts a single person or family would need. It truly captures the "no trace" motto- it feels like no one else has been to the cabin except you! From cooking essentials, books and games and sleeping areas to housekeeping supplies, an outdoor shower and composting toilet. Leave your troubles - and stuff- behind, and inhale the wonders of nature. There are beautiful trails a short drive to the East or wander among the trees behind the property. This cabin is Goldilocks approved!

Cozy cabin
My husband and I enjoyed our stay. We weren’t able to use the wood stove because of a wind advisory but the host was quick to respond and helpful. Otherwise the cabin was cozy and comfortable and our dog loved being able to run around outside. It was also perfectly located near the Grand Canyon, flagstaff and Sedona making day trips easy! However, I wish we had planned ahead a little better because we had no cell service at the cabin so it was difficult to look up directions, etc but that’s on us. All in all a lovely place to stay!

The cabin was so cozy and relaxing. The views are stunning. There was a snow storm the weekend before and there was a TON of snow when we arrived and it made everything look so magical. Hey, so we are lovers of the outdoors! Camping, hiking, biking, kayaking.... you name it! The beautiful forests in the Flagstaff with the graceful aspen trees have always been special to us, and much to our delight we were able to purchase this property that we can now share with you. I could tell you the story, but suffice it to say we had not been planning on buying a cabin, but all of a sudden I found this darling place FSBO on Zillow. I contacted the owner...... we stayed here one night for a test run before we made our offer..... and oh, how we loved it! Thankfully the owner took our offer over the others they received. There is nothing quite as soothing as chilling out in this beautiful quiet spot, enjoying nature, and the wonderful cool summer evenings. And the simplicity of the Glamper Cabin is the greatest appeal to us. No fuss, no muss. A roof over our heads. A delicious hot meal. A thunderstorm rolling overhead. A fire crackling in the woodstove. A comfy bed to snooze in. Room for the kids..... it's blissful! We love the snowy winters even more, but that's a whole other story! Enjoy!

Why they chose this property

All who stay at the Glamper Cabin love it! It's truly a unique and new experience for a traveler who is looking for adventure in the woods, cool summer days and even cooler nights, snowy winters, colorful trees in the fall. It's gorgeous.

What makes this property unique

Cleanse your spirit by relaxing in this pristine forest location! Forest therapy!
