We loved the house and all the things to do in the area. It was relaxing and loved being right in the lake. The house and kitchen is well equipped and very clean.

Just lovely

We really enjoyed our stay here. We came up to Michigan from NC for the first time for our anniversary and my 50th BD. This house was great! The location was so convenient to town and to the interstate. We geocached in Mackinaw City and St. I, went to Mackinac Island, drove up to Canada, drove down to Traverse City. We visited the Deer Ranch and the zoo nearby. Clyde’s was awesome, White Buffalo was a nice anniversary dinner, Buoys, BC Pizza, the Mexican place I forget the name, and Molly Moo’s were awesome. My only issue was the polyester sheets plus no A/C plus a brief heat wave made it difficult to sleep in the bed. Thankfully the recliner was absolutely perfect and I had no problems sleeping there. I even napped in the swing outside one afternoon. We were literally steps from Lake Michigan and what a lovely lovely view. We had a wonderful week!!!

Best UP experience!

Our family of 6 (4 kids, ages 22,20,15,15) loved it here. Excellent views of the bridge, especially at night by the campfire. Loved having the big lake right outside our door. Very quiet and private area but close to town and an easy drive to many attractions. The house itself was comfortable and had lots of amenities. We cooked some meals there and had a fire every night. It was an excellent vacation.

Peace of perfection

This property is beautiful and beautifully maintained. It is a unique design and decorated to match the Knotty Pine theme. We enjoyed that it was so close to the water’s edge. After one week in this peaceful setting we were refreshed, rejuvenated and we intend to return next year!

Great week for all no matter the activity!

My wife, 4 kids, and I had a great week in the UP. We were able to visit many of the sights including the Soo Locks, Pictured Rocks, Mackinac Island, plus a few State Parks (the falls). We were able to hike, shop, sight see, and even swim at the beach (burr). The cabin was an excellent base for us to rest in between day trips. The views were nice of the lake, the bridge, and of the freighters passing by. The lake access is stoney but not a problem with water shoes. The kitchen was stocked well with pots and pans, the bathrooms were also large with nice towels, and the furniture was very comfortable. Overall a great week!

Great private cabin!

My husband and I wanted a fall getaway and this was perfect! There are houses around but the trees make the place feel private. Great selection of brand name pans and full kitchen. Great view of the sunset from the dining table. The only drawback is that it doesn’t have air conditioning, which meant that the blinds had to be drawn during the day to keep the heat out (and that was with the other windows open). I would have loved to see the view day and night, but it just got too hot during the day. Maybe some push button blinds on the huge upper windows would help with heat as well and make seeing the view more possible. But we really loved the cabin feel and all the extra touches were incredible. The owners are great; we had one question and I was contacted within hours to resolve it. Overall, it had everything we needed and we loved it!!

Didn’t want to leave

What a wonderful property. Beautiful, very clean home with everything we needed for the week. This home is located right on the shore of Lake Michigan. Other homes and cabins are close by but separated by trees , so it feels very private. If partying late into the night is your “thing” I would suggest looking elsewhere. This is a peace and quiet type of getaway ! The shore is very rocky, so bring your water shoes. We used the lawn chairs provided to laze in the water and watch freighters go by. We also had some warming fires in the fire pit on the lake shore. Very convenient to St.Ignace for dinner out, shopping and access to ferries going to Mackinac Island. The two queen beds are very comfy with soft, upscale sheets and blankets. Fluffy white towels and a well-equipped kitchen. Fans were available for the nights that it stayed a little warm. We enjoyed our time there and would love to visit again.

First trip to the U.P.

Knotty Pines was a beautiful, clean, perfectly located cabin for our first trip to Upper Peninsula. My husband and I, and 4 kids (21, 18, 14, and 12) all stayed in the cabin. First off, the views were amazing. We loved sitting and watching the different boats go back and forth under the Mighty Mac bridge. And with water shoes, the kids enjoyed wading and swimming in the water. Second, it was a great "base camp" for our stay. During the week we visited Pictured Rocks (2 hours away), Tahquamenon Falls (1.5 hours away), Sault Ste. Marie (45 min away), and Mackinaw Island (20 minute ferry ride from St. Ignace). We also took a day to explore St. Ignace and the one rain-out day was spent relaxing and playing games at the cabin. The local grocery store had everything we needed for the few meals we cooked ourselves and the kitchen was sufficiently stocked with what we needed as well. The extras are what set this property apart from other VRBO's I have stayed at before - we didn't need to bring linens, soap, toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc. Enough was supplied to get our party of 6 through the week. Thanks for a great week and a great first trip to the U.P. We would love to come back again sometime!

Peaceful place with amazing view

Our family of six thoroughly enjoyed our week stay at this cabin! The views of Lake Michigan and the Mackinac Bridge are fabulous. The cabin was clean and well furnished! We enjoyed day trips to different places in the UP but our kids’ favorite thing was to just hang out at the cabin.

Amazing views, very clean, and a wonderful place for a family vacation!

We cannot say enough amazing things about this place. Even on a rainy day it was beautiful to watch the waves of Lake Michigan crash upon the shore. We loved the view of the bridge, the stars at night and the sunsets were stunning! Highly recommend- you won't be disappointed!
