About this property
Cabin #7 - The Perch at Twin Peaks
Cabin 7 is the perfect place to enjoy a rustic mountain retreat. This charming, bright, spacious cabin has a full kitchen and bath, and a King-size bed. The cabin is nestled on a secluded 4.5 acre property that feels remote and secluded, yet it's only minutes away from groceries, restaurants and various local adventures.
What's unique about The Perch is that rather than being set among a lot of other vacation homes, our cabins are nestled alongside 4.5 acres of forest and open land. Their simple and rustic vibe provides the perfect backdrop for your getaway.
The cabin is rustic yet stylish, and although we work hard to maintain the authenticity of its original structure, the inside of the cabin has a modern, trendy style. Cabin 7 has a gas fireplace and a porch, where you can take your morning coffee while listening to the birds and soaking in the serenity of the nature around you. The cabin is set behind the highway, but close to good restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping. Lake Gregory and Lake Arrowhead are ten minutes away. We're close to Strawberry Peak, which has magnificent views, close to Santa's Workshop, hiking, paragliding, and 40 minutes to Big Bear.
This cabin is clean, spacious and romantic, with the basics you need. It's private but there are a few other cabins nearby so The Perch is a perfect place to come with friends where you can have your privacy but eat together and hang out in the barn.
At the end of an active day, you'll settle back in your own private cozy cabin. The Perch consists of 9 cabins but each is private and different in its own way.
Your cabin and the entire area around it. As long as there is no event taking place, you're free to roam the common areas and use the barn.
I live on the property but not ALWAYS here. I can always be reached though, or you can call one of the other owners.
Your cabin is one of 12 cabins on a 4.5 acre property. There is a large open area and a wooded area. There's a barn and silo. You can walk anywhere on our property and if there is no event taking place, you can use any common area.

If there is snow, you'll need a 4x4 or chains on your tires to get up the mountain. You can get them at the bottom of the mountain, if necessary. Let us know if you need help with this.
The cabin is in the San Bernardino National Forest, which is a high-risk forest fire area. Please - no smoking in the cabins. Be very careful to make sure that any cigarettes or any flame used for whatever purpose if completely extinguished before leaving it. No fire pits or campfires are allowed in the area.
One side of our property has a few secluded private homes. The County requires that you keep your pet on a leash and there is quiet time at 10 PM.
If you want to bring a pet, there's an additional pet fee and we ask that you ensure the pet does not go on the beds or furniture.
If your cabin has a fireplace, please note that these are gas fireplaces, and are not to be used for wood!
When it's snowy or icy, you'll need a 4WD vehicle, or snow chains (maybe both). In extreme weather, you may be asked to park up in front of the property for your own convenience and safety.

About the host
Hosted by Laura Guidry

The Perch is owned by a family that had a vision of how special this property could be. We love the mountain area and were excited to create a unique, peaceful and beautiful space for guests to enjoy.
The cabins were built in the 30's, and it was one of the earliest resorts in the area, called Mile High Resorts. But it had fallen into disrepair by the time we bought the property in late 2018. We spent the next year upgrading the property and restoring the cabins in an exciting and stylish way. We opened up at the end of 2019.

Why they chose this property
The Perch is completely unique for the mountain area for various reasons. Each private cabin was built in the early 30s, and we have maintained the integrity of the original structures. So it's pretty rustic and simple. However, each cabin's interior has been lovingly and aesthetically furnished.
Each cabin is unique, with eclectic, stylish furnishings and quality linens. The Perch gives you the opportunity to truly get away and disconnect, Get back to a simple life where there are no microwaves, TVs or jacuzzis -- there aren't even roads or driveways and the cabins have no addresses. Instead, you'll have the forest, a large flat open field and lots of nature around you to explore. We are close to hikes, parasailing, off-roading, winter sports, and lakes. Guests are welcome to enjoy the entire 4.5-acre property.
The Perch also has a barn, which is another unique thing about this property. In the barn, you'll find an indoor and outdoor fireplace, games and BBQs. Since the barn is a communal space and not a short-term rental, we are permitted to have gatherings here. You can have a BBQ, light a fire, make s'mores and play some games. But our cabins are so cozy, you may not want to!
