We were there for 2 nights. It was clean, and rustic. I enjoyed watching it snow fall while I drank my coffee. I would definitely stay here again as it was a short drive to Lexington. Thsnk you!
You can feel the history of this place while it still has all the modern amenities. It was very unique, cozy and secluded but still within 15-20 minutes of anything you could want. The stone stairway up to the cabin absolutely does add to the charm and was fine for us to navigate but I could see where it could be a little difficult for those with mobility issues. Definitely would stay here again if we are back near Lexington!

Great Stay, Price Reflects Property
Overall, this was perfect for our weekend! It is fantastic to see something in its original condition. Owners were upfront about the size and the unique challenges of old structures. The only problem would be that the bathroom and shower need some TLC due to peeling wallpaper. In addition, the parking space was a little tight for our vehicle. We made it work, but parking was a challenge. For under 80 a night - no complaints! However if price were to increase we probably wouldn’t stay again unless there were upgrades.
We had a pleasant stay in this home. It was well stocked and clean. The cabin is old and comes with all the quirks that an old home brings. The beds were comfortable. The loft was a little difficult for a tall adult to get up and down from. The heating is uneven, so it stays much colder in the downstairs and bathroom. As noted the stairs leading to the house are very rough and make for a challenge carrying suitcases. All of this is noted for knowledge, not a complaint. We are very happy we chose this house to stay in.
Very cute and peace place. Truly and old cabin, low ceilings. Steps are step and corners are tight in places. Shower is very small. But very relaxing and just right off the interstate but on a very calm street. I didn’t see anyone else at all.
The property was full of character. It was decorated tastefully. The bed was very comfortable with great bedding. We enjoyed the history of the property. Would definitely stay again if we are ever in the area.

Nice but not really on the river
Nice clean, quiet, quaint cabin in rustic setting. We enjoyed our trip, and are glad we stayed there, but would probably not return. We expected to have a river view and access to it based on ad saying it was a cabin on a river. Yet we could not even see river either from property or Beach Street (that may be different in the winter), and there is no walking access to it. That was disappointing as we expected enjoy a cabin "on the river." While technically correct, it's not what most envision from that phrase.
I really enjoyed my overnight. The living area is so comfortable and the decor and books right up my alley. The bed and linens as well as pillows were so comfy and I slept great! Nice and neat kitchen and bath. A few suggestions I have would be to just add a railing up the stone steps from the street. I knew about them but with luggage and food bags it’s very difficult to walk up and down only touching a tree stump or rock here and there. Also the cabin did not smell fresh. I would maybe spray febreeze before each visitor. Also I had wished to have access to walk down to the river. I wish that had been advertised that there was not access.
The antique furnishings were exactly my style. The king bed was very comfortable. I somehow missed in the description of the property that the bedroom and living rooms were up a steep flight of stairs, while the kitchen and bathroom were on the first floor. We found our clothes covered with animal hair after sitting on the couch. The stairs to access the property were VERY treacherous. I can’t believe there is no railing and the top portion of them are so very uneven. Would not stay there again.
Old log cabin, steep old stone steps leading up to the cabin. Clean modern kitchen. Steep stairs to second floor living room, good Wi-Fi, comfortable chairs, couch, king size bed.
Easy drive to downtown Lexington and the racetrack, Five minutes to Proud Mary's for great BBQ and music.
We stayed here while visiting our son who goes to UK. It was exactly as listed. We knew going into it that the outside stairs were hazardous, but we took our time. Our dog enjoyed her stay as well. The price is right for this cozy cabin.
Great location and perfect for a long weekend. As mentioned in the description the steps to the house are a little daunting and steep but we did enjoy the house and loved we could being our pup with us. You can't beat the price for this house. Make sure to swing by Proud Mary's BBQ right down the road for good food and music!
We truly enjoyed our stay. It was comfortable and quaint. The stairs were treacherous for us old gals but we managed as we had a young friend with us. The kitchen not very well stocked if you are a cook but overall this was a lovely way to spend time with friends.
This cabin has a great rustic feel and the location feels hidden despite being close to lots of stuff.
The only thing is watch out for the poison ivy growing all over, including both side of the front steps, creeping onto the stairs, and hanging just above your head on those same stairs.
The neighborhood was not what I expected but everything worked out great. The Proud Mary's was a really fun experience for my husband and I! It was super crazy that out in the middle of nothing there was this super busy and hopping restaurant with live music! Really fun and really uniqu. Great overall experience!super busy
My friend and I absolutely loved this little place! It was very cute, very comfortable, and very clean. We would not hesitate to stay again! Everything was exactly as described. I would say if you have difficulty walking, which we do not, the stairs getting into the house might be tough.
We stayed on our way to NC and back. We were very comfortable each night.

Why they chose this property
This 1907 cabin will take you back into time. You won't even feel like your 15 minutes from the city. The nostalgia and the coziness of this beautiful home will encourage you to rest, relax and tap a nap. While we would encourage you to unplug and play some board games or enjoy sitting outside listening to the ripple of the river, we realize you may have to work or check in with the world via internet so high speed wireless internet is also available.
What makes this property unique
This cabin was built in 1907 and while clean, sturdy, and cozy, it does have the character of some un-level original hardwood floors. The loft with 2 twin beds is accessed by a ladder only so picturing a scene from Little House on the Prairie should help you understand the cool factor of your stay.
