I initially thought this property was a good option due to its reasonable price, parking and convenient location. However, it failed in several crucial areas: cleanliness, comfort, and quietness.
The beds & pillows need replacement (lumpy & worn) & some of the linens are worn out. As a basement suite, it is extremely humid. Being an older house, it sounds like cattle are running around upstairs @ 6 AM when anyone walks around.
The suite has a nice gas fireplace, but it gives off heat constantly, competing with 2 very noisy air conditioners that only serve 1 of the 2 bedrooms. The bathroom water pressure is ok, but the shower curtain was dirty and too long, blocking the tub drain and causing water to accumulate.
While the provided TV was great, you couldn't change the volume because the remote was faulty. We were charged a $100 cleaning fee, yet found dirty towels from the previous guest in the bathroom, and the kitchen sink was used for dumping dirty mop water with the metal sink strainer was full of sand and grit and not clean. Additionally, we were required to strip all the bedding for the cleaners at the end of our stay.
Although we never met the caretakers, they were quick to respond to any questions. However, the list of issues was so long that it wasn't worth addressing them all during our week-long stay and they never reached out to ask if we were ok or had any issues.
I would recommend considering other accommodations for a better experience in London.
