The property was amazing. Gorgeous views, so spacious, very accommodating. It’s 100% as advertised and the host is very helpful. 10/10 would stay again.
We had a great stay at the lake house. The owner is great, and he has stocked the house with all the toys you'd need for the stay - kayaks, fishing poles, corn hole, basketball, board games, tennis rackets. Fantastic location with a beautiful view. Clean, with decent appliances and an a/c that can keep with the Georgia summer heat.
The host was very courteous and helpful. The home was clean and spacious. The location was excellent. The house is on a lake with an excellent view. The amenities and surroundings were perfect. Overall a very relaxing and quiet atmosphere.
We just finished a week stay at this property. The owner was very accommodating and kept great communication. The house was perfect for what we needed. We enjoyed using the pool at the clubhouse and kayaks off back deck. The kids really liked watching all the deer that came through the neighborhood everyday like clockwork. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't the greatest during our stay which made some of the roads a bit dicey for my vehicle, but we managed. If you know the neighborhood, it is up a mountain, so it was to be expected. Overall, we had a great time and look forward to planning another trip!
My family had a great week at the house. We kayaked and paddle boarded all over the lake. We brought our 2 dogs and went on daily hikes on the trails around, swam at the pool, played golf, made smores, and enjoyed drinks and talks on the porches. There were plenty of beds and everything was clean and comfortable for our stay.
We rented to see what living on the lake would be like. It is great and the owner could not have been more accommodating if we needed something or had general community questions.
Gorgeous area with plenty to do and not to far to shop for your needs.
Pete was an amazing host, very responsive to our needs.
We are family of 3 adult kids and 1 grandchild, there was plenty of room. Oh and pet friendly. Thank you Pete
This was a great house for our boys weekend. We enjoyed the kayaks. While visiting we went to Garland Mountain and had a ball! Property owner was very nice and informative. I asked lots of questions prior to booking and he was very patient with me. He also provides activity recommendations if you want them. Great property on the lake that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Overall it was a great stay and we’d definitely love to come back!

Lake Stay
Spacious and quiet with a kitchen and outdoor amenities. Hiking trails, dog park, kayaks, and direct lake access were great for us. There are some minor maintenance/cleaning issues (trees growing in gutters, dusty fans, trash under the bed, etc). Bring your own shampoo (soap and conditioner provided) and you may have to refill propane for the grill. Reach out to Pete before you go to learn about the amenities (or read the lake website); cell service is spotty and there's no info on amenities left for you to read up on at the house.
Overall, our stay was nice, with enough rooms/beds/baths to comfortably sleep 8. The property was clean, and the host was nice and accommodating. Getting to the property, especially the first time, was quite the challenge. The pin given for the South Gate entrance still tried to take us through the North Gate (which is closed after 7:00pm) so we had to figure out on our own how to get there in the dark after driving all day. The person at the gate expected us to have a bar code already and did not have our names. We did get through after brief and friendly discussion. A few minor suggestions for our host would be to 1. Update the cookware. Pots/Pans were minimal with scratches/dents. 2. Provide extra blankets (there were extra sheets). 3. Fix or provide instructions for use of shower/bath in basement bedroom (we were not able to use it). 4. Repair driveway. It is cracked and uneven. We scraped the bottom of our car backing out. 5. Provide pokers for fire pit. 6. Fix stove/hood light. Again, we did enjoy our stay and appreciated that the price was much lower than other places we looked.
Enjoyed our stay at Lake Arrowhead. Fred/ Owner was very prompt and easy to communicate with. The unit was open and spacious. It was nice to relax each day with our dogs after a day of dock diving. We enjoyed the deck and fire pit area. It was also nice to have the area fenced off the daylight basement to stage the dogs to leash up and exercise. We definitely got our exercise with the stairs to the basement and stairs to the backyard. It is a quiet area with lovely views. The kitchen is well equipt and if you want to go out to eat or grocery shop all are within a 15-20 minute drive. We understand there is a Grill on location as well as other amenities we did not utilize. Overall an enjoyable 4 days.

Cleanliness expectations not met
As I shared with the owner after our stay, When we arrived, there were dirty dishes in cabinets (milk crust in cups, dried cheese in cheese grater, crumbs in bowls in cabinets) and surfaces were grimy and not cleaned. As far the bedrooms, there were chips under the sheets in the master bedroom, a toe nail on floor in the other main floor bedroom, and dirt in each of the showers. I know this cabin is cheaper than a lot of the homes in the area and the no frills and basic amenities is not an issue. What we do expect, is that we arrive to a sufficiently cleaned house. We spent the first day cleaning dishes, surfaces, and sheets ourselves so that we were comfortable enough cooking, eating, and sleeping. everyone expect cleanliness. Half of the guests (4 people) departed early because they were just too uncomfortable with finding evidence of lack of cleaning and just could t relax on their vacation.
Aside from the cleaning, we did have to spend time looking for toilet paper for all but one bathroom (we found 4 roles in a closet in the basement), find garbage bags (None of the trash cans had bags in them) and had to re wash towels since they were left in the laundry in a pile still damp and musty smelling. The cabin itself was what we expected in terms of amenities, furniture, location, etc. which was more than adequate for what we were looking for but we were disappointed in how much we had to do before our vacation weekend for some R&R.
we enjoyed our stay so much. from the beginning Pete was very helpful and very communicative. the place is a cute little home in the foothills of Lake Arrowhead. Also right on the lake. we saw so many deer on a daily basis. They were just everywhere. Plenty of room for a family or two to spend the holidays together. My family and I will definitely be coming back and staying here again. We loved it.
Our overall stay was as expected. Enjoyed the firepit by the lake and time spent on the water. Lots of hiking which the site was recommended by the owner and we took advantage of it. Overall, a very enjoyable weekend.

About the host
Hosted by Pete
We wanted to provide an affordable property that allows everyone to enjoy all the benefits of a private lake and community.
Why they chose this property
Living in Atlanta we wanted something close. The private lake offered clean water at a consistent level, less traffic and more security.
What makes this property unique
We are on the west side of the lake which is close to all the amenities.
