L'Appartement is part of Gites De Liberte one of 3 beautiful self-catering apartments located in the beautiful, quiet and historical south of France village of Azille. Azille is located in the heart of the Minervois wine and Cathare area within the Aude region, but also on the border of the Herault region. We benefit from the mediterranean weather and have a cafe/bar, soon to open general store, indian take-away, butchers, bakers, post office, beautifully positioned church, Andres Ferme restaurant set on a farm overlooking the mountains and vinyards with fresh food and a great atmosphere. Both the Canal Du Midi and Lac Du Jouarres are within a few kilometres of the village and we have 2 caveau's which sell the wine they produce in the village. You can enjoy the freedom of the area with no ties and relax in total comfort with the Black Mountains to the north, the Corbiere Mountains to the south and vineyards at every exit it is the perfect place to get away and relax. The mediterreanean beaches are only 40 minutes away. Carcassonne with it's Medieval castle is only 35 Minutes and there are lots of beautiful villages to visit.

Just what was needed.

This was a place I really didn't want to leave. The gites are a collection of residences around a secure courtyard. With good reliable weather the outside space and interier were used equally. We stayed in l'appartment which was great for 2 people. All appliances worked well and decent quality which can't be said of some gites in France. The TV worked easily with English TV if you are interested. Comfy sofas. The shared environment in the courtyard was peaceful, discreet, secure, yet worked fine for all. The owners are nice people offering as much help as needed without being imposing. The area is central for everything. History, beautiful scenary, wine galore, local markets, and amazing weather.... but just as much for relaxation and a lovely holiday Really good value and honestly cannot recommend it enough. I am confident I will return again
