I booked this cabin for a quiet, peaceful getaway and it did not disappoint. Located 1/4 mile off the main road, the location was fantastic. During our time spent at the cabin we didn’t see another person or another vehicle. Beautiful place inside and out, with everything I look for in a rental (quiet, updated and well-appointed, King bed, walk-in shower, fireplace and covered hot tub. I will definitely rent this place again when looking for a peaceful getaway!
Our stay at this beautiful mountain cabin was absolutely perfect! The cozy atmosphere made it feel like a home away from home, with every detail thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. The highlight of our trip was definitely the hot tub—soaking under the stars with the crisp mountain air was an unforgettable experience. The peaceful surroundings and breathtaking views made it the perfect getaway. We can’t wait to come back again soon!
Beautiful, tucked away, relaxing. Property is beautiful and exceptionally clean. Kudos to the cleaning crew. Nicely decorated, very comfortable place. Everything you need is there. Close to town. Host was wonderful to deal with, and very helpful. Enjoyed our trip and hated to leave. Definitely will come back. We had the best time.
Everything in the description of this cabin is accurate. Wonderful, secluded, and clean all while being close to town!!! I would stay here over and over
We booked this for a family getaway. This cabin is close to several hikes and waterfalls very close to Downtown Bryson City and Cherokee Beds were comfortable kitchen was well stocked. I will definitely book this cabin again
What a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy nature with friends or family! Although we were only a couple of miles from Bryson City, the cabin was nestled in the woods and completed secluded. We spent a lot of time on the back porch just enjoying the quiet & each other’s company. The beds were very comfortable and we had everything we needed. The cabin was just adorable and someone put a lot of time & effort into making it a welcoming oasis.
Cabin was perfect. So clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our hikes every day. The cabin was close to everything we wanted to do. Escaping the stifling Southern Alabama heat was well worth the drive.
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was super comfortable and convenient. Bryson City is where it is at….less crowded and more of a small town feel but with still enough places to eat, drink, shop, etc.
My husband and I needed a quick getaway, I came across this cabin online and it was everything I wanted until I got there and in person… it was everything I wanted and MORE! It was beautiful, cozy, warm and clean!! I couldn’t be happier with the cabin! Everything about our weekend was perfect!
The cabin is absolutely gorgeous but my only suggestion would be is the replace the living room furniture. It is so uncomfortable especially for older adults it’s very hard to sit down and get up from the couch and the chairs all have log arms that are uncomfortable to lean against. A couple of nice recliners where you can sit read watch tv and be comfortable would be nice. But otherwise the cabin has everything and more that you need for your stay 🤗 everything is very clean well stocked secluded location🤗The beds are comfortable love that each room had access to the back deck.
We had the opportunity stay a few nights and it was amazing. It is so peaceful sitting on the porch. The beds were very comfortable. We will definitely be booking again
This was a perfect place for our family of 5 to explore Bryson City and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We were celebrating our son's 14th birthday, and he wanted to go hiking, mountain biking, and fishing. He and his 11-year-old brother had their own bedroom and used the bathroom on the hall, while my husband and I had the master bedroom with ensuite bath, and there was room for our 20-month-old daughter to sleep in the pack and play in the corner of our room. The front and back porches were great places to sit and relax, very peaceful. The grownups and older kids really enjoyed the hot tub on the back porch while the baby napped, and after our first trip into town, we had the route memorized. It was so quick and easy, and all the kids loved Bryson City for the train, museums, cute shops and restaurants, and fishing from the riverbanks. It was only a few minutes' drive to the national park for hiking or to the Tsali mountain bike trails. We could not have asked for a better experience!
Nice private location that was clean and nicely put together. If you like to stay in a cabin that is not surrounded by others and well put together, this one is for you. Hot tub and location was perfect.
This lovely cabin is nestled in the woods yet super close to downtown Bryson City. The cabin has everything you could need for your stay and we will definitely come back again.
We loved this cabin. We were able to do things in Bryson City and at Deep Creek. We enjoyed fire pit and hot tub in the evening. It was easy to get to everything we wanted to do and my daughter family did camp some, but was up in cabin to enjoy the evening time. This was a less stressful trip than when everyone has tent camped. I would stay here again.
we have stayed in this cabin a couple times now and it is a nice quiet spot close to town. We come to Bryson City area every year and enjoy the Deep Creek Tubing. Good Place and Nice People
We loved Gerty’s Getaway. It was the perfect size and an overall wonderful stay. Karen made everything so easy and was so kind. We are already planning to come back!

I grew up spending my summers in Bryson City with my grandparents who lived and raised their family here. My Grandfather took me for many hikes in these mountains and I spent many summer days swimming, tubing or boating the rivers and lake. I cherish all of the outdoor activities this area has to offer.
Why they chose this property
This brand new cabin (December 2019) is conveniently located within a mile of the Deep Creek area of the National Park where you will find great hiking trails, waterfalls, tubing and a picnic area. It is also within a mile of Bryson City and the Great Smoky Mountain Railway and the Polar Express. There are lots of outdoor activities in this side of the Smoky Mountains-hiking, biking, rafting, tubing, kayaking, ziplining, etc. The Nantahala Outdoor Center is 15 minutes away. There are scenic drives galore-The Cherohala Skyway, The Road to Nowhere, and if you want to test your driving skill, try navigating the Tail of the Dragon. You can also try your luck at Harrah's Cherokee only 30 minutes away. The Cherokee Indian Reservation is also a nice place to explore as well. This cabin is tucked in the woods behind a horse pasture, so there is plenty of privacy. Consider renting both for a family or friends visit. Also, I live close by and I am available if something is needed.
