Unfortunately, our stay started out pretty rough and got worse. When we didn’t the get the information to get into the condo, I contacted the property manager to get it. Once we got in, we found gnats and fruit flies in the bathroom and kitchen area. LOTS of them. Contacted the property manager again. And the response we got was, “I have never had any problems with the unit before.” Well, that is great but doesn’t resolve the problem. We then looked at our children’s feet (the were barefoot running around the condo) and they were so dirty. It stained the white wash clothes they we used to clean them. We then had to buy new sheets for the master bedroom since they were stained and had hairs on the them, along with buying bug things to get rid of the gnats. The property manager offered to come the next morning to clean and put bleach down the drains to get rid of the bugs and to reimburse us for the sheets. He came, but the floors were still dirty and the bugs didn’t go away. I wish this was the only issue.
Starting Monday, at 9 am from 4pm workers began working right underneath our condo by jack hammering the ceiling (which was our floor). So each day we could not be in the condo during that time because you couldn’t hear or anything. It was bad. When, contacting the property manager, his response was, “They were supposed to be done by now”. Again, that doesn’t solve the problem. We did have the opportunity to move to another unit Monday night that was on the 16th floor (after I called the property manager to complain…we had been texting before) . It wasn’t an option for us since our daughter is afraid of heights (why we are staying on the first floor).
We ended up learning the workers’ schedule and going out to the beach at 9-4 and coming in around 11:15-12:15 for lunch. That was their lunch time so there would be no Jack hammering. Thursday night the guest toilet broke. The property manager came the next day to fix it. He said that the property owners felt so bad, they were going to give us a full refund. We got the check today-$500. Not close to a full refund. We will never stay here or use this property management again. Thankfully the weather was nice and it did rain on Thursday, so we got to stay in the room longer during the day because the workers didn’t work that day. Never thought I would be thankful for thunderstorms at the beach. I would recommend staying elsewhere.
