Just ok

Very outdated. Carpet old and worn and needs replacing. Couch is old and needs replacing. Not enough blankets. Not enough towels. There were no dish rags, we had to purchase some.Also there were too many stairs. The lower level stairs needs a handrail that starts at the top step, Not on the second step as all stairs are super steep.

Beware!

Good Things:The location in Destin is absolutely perfect. The condo is centrally located with easy access to the village, the water, and nearby attractions. The area itself is peaceful, situated right on the water. The condo had all the amenities we needed and was generally comfortable. These positives were, unfortunately, overshadowed by major issues with the unit and the management company, VACASA.Issues We Faced:After a check of all appliances and plumbing, we found the appliances in good working order, aside from minor issues which did not affect our stay, such as ice cube feature in fridge didn’t work, oven light not working and damaged blinds. However, the bathrooms were where the experience turned truly unpleasant:Bathroom Issues: All three bathrooms had issues. Day 1 found leaking master toilet (leaking from tank). Used towel to absorb. The upstairs main bathroom had a major plumbing issue. When the toilet was flushed, the bowl's water (black water) leaked through the floor and into the ceiling of the main floor, dripping on the dining room table. On Day 3 someone came to fix these issues. Master toilet still leaked and we were afraid to try the other toilet again. On Day 4, vanity sink in main floor, backed up, completely clogged. Although this was reported to VACASA, no one came again during our stay to fix it.Poor communication/action by VACASA. Recommendation: Avoid this unit until major repairs are completed and management improves significantly.

Very Relaxing

This condo was very nice, clean and perfect if you have a boat. It was nice to step right off the deck onto our pontoon boat. The view down the harbor was beautiful especially at night. Would rent this property again!

Met our needs

Great l9cation and place. Pleanty of space and close to everything in Destin. Some minor issues, however maintence came right away. Needed to buy a lighter for the grill. We would recommend going to Henderson State Park for beach access instead of the one near the property. Overall great space for our family.

Unique location

If you have a family with some who like to fish and some who like to go to the beach I don’t think you can find a better place than this. You can walk out the back door and get in your boat or go out the front door and take a short walk to the beach. The fishing is excellent with many options. You have Destin Harbor,East Pass,The Bridge and Choctawhatchee Bay all just a short boat ride away and all good fishing. There are also many places to anchor your boat and swim with nice white sandy beaches in the harbor and the bay and Crab Island which is a shallow underwater Island where a lot of people anchor their boats and swim. The condo was very nice and clean with plenty of room.

Perfect stay

We loved the bottom floor of the home. It was perfect for coming in from the beach and providing a place to leave all our beach supplies, cooler, shoes, etc. until the next time we went out. The couch is unbelievably comfortable and was such a good place to relax during the one rainy day of our stay. The beds were soft and we loved having towels, sheets provided at no extra charge. The deck hosts the best views and my daughter loved fishing off the back deck in the harbor. We would definitely stay again!

Great house needs a few extra items.

The house was great with a quiet location. There was no extra blankets/bedding which was disappointing. The couch was extremely comfortable, I recommend using the water taxi to get around in the harbor for going out to eat. Labeling was very helpful

The Perfect Location

The location is perfect! Water front, fished off the dock, walk to the beach in around 5 minutes and close to the harbor. The couch is phenominal! It has plenty of space and extremely comfortable. The neighbors were very friendly and welcoming.

Great neighborhood

We enjoyed our stay! The kitchen accessories/utensils could use an update (lack of decent cutting knives). We enjoyed being on the harbor, sitting on the deck drinking coffee in the morning. The beach was a short walk away and sidewalks are available throughout the area.

Nice area to stay

The house was nice a the property was in a great spot with a beach within 10 minute walk. The only thing it really lacked was blankets an clean dishes. There were no extra blankets for the beds a the covers on the beds are really slim am light. Bring your own blankets for kicking back on the couch which is very comfortable. There were several times that we pulled a plate, bowl or silver ware out to use a they were dirty with food or greasy. Make sure to buy trash bags an toilet paper an extra paper towels, because if you have more than 2 people for a 6 day stay, you will be sure not to have enough, but then again the house was great. Thank you

Great clean place

The condo was very clean and smelled good upon arrival. The neighbors here very helpful in giving us ideas of things we could do. Great reference books for restaurants and activities. A short walk to a smaller beach. Nice area!

Thanksgiving gateways

Love the location , minutes from the beach and east jetties if you love fishing...love the canal on the back , haven't had any actions other than pinfish but I did saw some redfish cruising by so hopefully next time I will get more luck...house was pretty cozy...couch was pretty big and comfy...overall I would definitely recommend and be back myself...

Canal place 8

We were looking for a place with a dock to park our skiff and found canal place 8 on vacasa. It turned out perfect! The place is roomy and well stocked with anything you would need In the kitchen. Each bed is clean and comfortable. Parking is easy with exception of having to pay a storage facility to keep the boat trailer. The dock is fairly nice and though it says 17 foot boats a 21’ could easily fit. There is power and water to the dock just bring a drop cord and a hose. It has a nice grill that we used daily to make food. Location is perfect we were able to take the boat to several restaurants. Short Uber or drive to stores/bars/food/beaches. This place isn’t 5 star fancy but it’s nice and clean. Neighbors were all really nice. If you are bringing your boat this is your place!

Peaceful oasis, quick walk to the beach

This place was the perfect spot for my family. We have two young kids. We spent the mornings at the beach and afternoons on the back deck swimming in the canal. The condo was a perfect home away from home. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to cook meals. Any question you need answered could be found in owner’s book. We will be back!

BEWARE.......

Beware of this property if you are looking for a horrible rundown place to stay that is old, nasty and in an out of the way place that is not near any restaurants or stores,because this condo is just the opposite!!!! This home is absolutely gorgeous!! The views are awesome,it was so clean and decorated nicely,plenty of towels and washrags.I suggest to bring extra blankets tho,there are no extra linens.We loved it so much there,although there were a couple of minor hiccups with the stair rail and towel rack being loose,but other than that everything was perfect!!!!
