This house had what we needed for the weekend (pots, pans, paper produces, linens, etc). Maybe it was us, but we weren’t able to get the TV to work. We like to relax at the end of the day with a little TV time.

Not what it appears as advertised
Approved to check in early at 2. Didn't happen until 3:30. Had two TV but neither one worked. Heater in bedroom didn't work. Wires were taped through out the place. The worst was the pull out sofa. It was filthy dirty. Sheets on it was dirty with black spots and the right side was broken. It had some trip hazards as well. Drop cords were running over to the house next door where work was being done. Was offered a free night to stay but we will not be going back. Very disappointed.
When me and my husband walked in I felt instantly relaxed, the house was so cute and cozy, I loves having a small view of the mountains near the house. The house was in a nice location were you could walk if you wanted to the store or restaurant. Over all I loved the house and the people that own it made the house seem very homie as well.
Karen checked in on us (via email) to assure we had everything we needed. She offered a late check out and invited us to stay an extra night if we wanted. The house is really cute, just the right size for 2 & pup. The location is within walking distance to the Main Street shops & restaurants.

Earwigs
Left a day early after we had to kill over 100 bugs, mostly earwigs. They were EVERYWHERE.
The back patio is great, the house is nicely decorated, the kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom is large. Good for a couple but small for 4 people.

Cluttered disappointment
Our stay started with a strange check in method. The tools available in the app were not used and it was only through messaging that the check in process happened. We were given a code with instructions on how to open and lock the door and nothing else. There were no house rules, instructions, how to’s, or personal recommendations for any activities or dining in the area. There are some flyers that could just as easily be picked up at a rest area. Once we got in the cabin we were initially stunned by the vast number of decorations which later we realized severely detracted from our stay. The clutter is so bad that there is literally no place to put your clothes or luggage other than the couches in the living room. All other cabinets or dressers were occupied as storage for yet more decorations. At this point the cuteness of the decorations had worn off and we started to see the multitude of flaws: disorganized kitchen with some of the dishes and silverware dirty, several pieces of furniture appear as if they were pulled from the roadside and “repaired”, the arm of one of the couches was broken and covered to hide the flaw, the front door doesn’t seal, and the back door is missing part of the frame (but it is okay, they painted under where it normally goes and mounted the back door safety latch there). The bed is far from comfortable and a good nights sleep will not be had in it unless it is chemically induced. We paid for two nights and stayed one. I would not recommend.
While some people may not be bothered by the filth of this place, I couldn’t stay there even overnight. From the ground in grime on the broken arm of the couch to the stained pillowcase in the bedroom, the place was too much for me. In addition to that, the used washcloth that was mentioned by a previous visitor was still in the shower! I had to think long and hard about writing this review, but I thought that other people may be as turned off as I was. Fortunately, I was able to get a clean well-kempt hotel room for less than the cost of the house. I realize everyone might not have that option. So, if you are the least bit picky about your accommodations, please look around for other choices in the area.

This place was great!!! The only mild complaint was a dirty wash rag in the shower but the host was fantastic and we loved the place!!! We will rebook again
The house was great, it had more amenity's than listed such as a fire pit and grill. Even though it was only myself and my girlfriend, we plan on returning with her child as there was ample room for 2 more people to stay. Home owner was quick to reply and gave me local outing recommendations. Enjoy this house, we sure as hell did!!!!
15 Minutes from the Thornton gap entrance and 30 from Front Royal. Had everything we needed, and Karen was wonderful and responded to our requests quickly. Right near downtown!
We had a nice stay at this property. Located in a residential neighborhood and close to things in town and a short drive to outdoor activities. Manager was communicative and helpful. Some of the furnishings and housewares were older and a bit worn, but manageable.
