Sweet small cottage on canal
This was my third time here so clearly we like it.. It is very sweet. Nice deck on canal. Small but very usable kitchen has all necessary equipment but no dishwasher. Nice kayaks and bikes in garage. Bedrooms are small but nice.

Great place for visiting parents.
There are a lot of closer places you can stay while visit a child at Humboldt, but we love this King Salmon cottage due it having a nice Summer cabin vibe, being pet friendly and also has a beach less then a 1/4 mile away. As are daughter is a sophomore we will be back again for sure!

10/10 Recommend!
If you are looking for a unique stay in a convenient location, this is the place for you! The cottage is in the quiet, canal community of King Salmon. The house is immaculate, well appointed, well lit, and comfortable. Communication with the host and directions are clear and helpful. Walk to the end of the block for walks on the bay and jetty or around the block for a delicious meal at Gil's. The house offers two bikes and two kayaks for use and additional exploring with access from the back deck ramp. You can't beat the location! Very convenient to the 101 to explore the coast and The Redwoods. Some highlights to check out: Six Rivers Brewery in McKinleyville, cheap gas by Bear River Casino (Loleta) if you're out that way, and walking around the cute town/center square of Arcata. Somoa Dunes is a quick trip and countless views of the Pacific. Trinidad State Beach was stunning! Convenient to many major sites in The Redwoods. The area and the home are beautiful. When stocking up for adventures, skip shopping at the Walmart in Eureka-especially at night. 10/10 would recommend Allegra's Cottage and the King Salmon canal community.

Wonderful place, you should stay here!
The place was perfect- the deck was a great spot to hang out, the house was clean and welcoming and very adorable. Lots of tourist info and recommendations available. Just a quick walk across the street is the beautiful bay and a fabulous restaurant serving breakfast and lunch. The location is perfect, close to lots of hiking and attractions. The only thing we didn’t like was leaving!!

The house was nice but the pot smells were very bad and strong would even creep into the house with all windows and doors closed.

Great cottage!
The property was just as pictured. When we arrived they had left the lights on for us and had nice music playing on the TV. The patio area was very nice and relaxing to sit outside. Very quiet neighborhood. We had breakfast at Gill's which is very close with a beautiful patio area to dine. Also very close to Eureka.

Lovely stay
House was clean and had easy access to beach and highway. Only issue was a neighbor nearby who did not observe quiet hours (loud shouting and yelling in the middle of the night and early hours) and they also left a dog outside barking for several hours. Was probably just bad luck for us, and it could’ve happened anywhere (here, hotel, or elsewhere). Overall nice and relaxing stay.

Cute and Clean
This cottage is in a quiet neighborhood but easy distance from the highway. Local staff was responsive. House was well stocked. If you are looking for the bright blue house of the picture, the reality is a softer gray. Beach access to a small cove is at the end of the street and popular with dog walkers. I would stay here again vs. a downtown location. The two patios are in the front and split by the ramp access to the dock.

Great get away spot.
We enjoyed the house. It is close to Eureka, which made it nice. Being on the water was interesting. The high/low tide thing is amazing to see. It had everything you need to a great visit. We stayed Monday thru Thursday and really enjoyed the house.

nice interior, ok location
The positives: the kitchen is tidy and fairly well equipped with new appliances, the outdoor deck in the back is nice, the living room is comfortable and there's a nice dining table. Sunset views over water are at the end of the street. The negatives: beds have indents where people have slept, pillows are flat, screens in the bedrooms have holes, the neighborhood is a bit sketchy. It's located on a canal, so noise you make on the deck will carry to neighbors and if they are partying until 1 am, you're up with them. The property management company didn't respond to a request for help with the front door lock.

Good rainy weekend
The cottage had everything that was advertised. It was comfortable and warm during a cool and rainy weekend. The best part was being able to hear the rain on the roof. I would like to come back during the summer and spend time out on the deck overlooking the canal.
