My husband and I had a wonderful time at Clam Cove. The location on the water is outstanding. We enjoyed watching the ferry. The house is clean, private and had everything we needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable. We highly recommend and would love to return in the future.
This is the third time we've stayed at this lovely cottage. It's such a relaxing place to stay with amazing views of the water, the ferry, and Mount Rainier. Can't wait to return!
Clam Cove is exactly as advertised! Beautiful and peaceful, comfortably appointed with a spectacular view. We stayed just two nights and hope to return for a longer stay.

Second time staying here - can't wait to return!
This is such a great place. The view of Mount Rainer is amazing, plus you can watch seals, Orcas, and bald eagles from the bedroom or living room. It's cozy and comfortable and a great getaway not far from Seattle, plus the owners are wonderful. We can't wait to return!
A getaway for a week between staying with family during the holidays. Beautiful spot to see the waterbirds and the ever changing colors of the water. Highly recommend for winter getaway. Can’t wait to repeat visit in summer
We had a wonderful time at the cabin very comfortable plenty of great scenery because it really stormed and the waves were crashing best part was it was close to home and a 15 ferry ride we will be back for sure
We were a family of 3 (2 parents, 1 teen) and it was a comfortable and relaxing stay. Neighborhood is quiet, saw a variety of sea life, and enjoyed the views. Check-in was easy and hosts available for communication.
Our stay was even more amazing than imagined! Clam cove cottage exceed all of our expectations. The view and location are amazing and the owners have thought of everything for guests during their stays. The entire property is so clean and well kept. We felt right at home and had the most relaxing time. We will definitely be staying here again on our next visit to Vashon Island!

Amazing Little House
We loved staying at the Clam Cove Cabin, the house is so clean, and equipped with everything you will need for a few days away. We didn't want to leave, and we are already looking at our calendar to see when we can stay again. Thank you so much Lance for sharing your little piece of heaven on earth.
Lovely little cabin right on the beach bulkhead. Enjoy watching otters, heron, kingfisher occasional deer as well as ships in and out of Port of Tacoma. Peaceful, quiet, comfortable. Responsive host.
Clam Cottage was our home for 10 weeks this summer and the experience was amazing. The location has incredible views of Mt. Rainier, Point Ruston, and easy ferry access to Tacoma and Seattle. The Cottage is right on the water making it easy to kayak, paddle board, and enjoy the sea life every day (seals, otters, porpoises, eagles, etc.). The Cottage has a large deck with lots of seating options, the inside includes all the basic amenities. The property owner is very friendly and responded quickly to any questions/needs/etc. We highly recommend staying at Clam Cottage for short or long term stays, we made many fabulous memories!
If you are looking for someplace to sit and watch the world go by, this is for you. The cabin is well-appointed and cute as a button! The view, though, that is what drew us to the property. Plus, it is so easy and quick to get there from Seattle but feels like a world away. Will be looking to book again in the future.
My host was wonderful at accommodating my 3 dogs. Was always available for questions and very gracious. The property was everything I imagined and more. I will be back.
This is a really cute cottage right on the water with things happening all the time right in front of you-wildlife, seals, otters, etc-and watching the ferry crossing. It is a delightful place to stay and the owners make it like your home, having stocked things that you commonly use for cooking, etc and good cooking pots and pans and dishes-as well as other things that make your stay so enjoyable.. It is really a lovely 'deal' given what is charged to rent there and what you get out of the experience. We would highly recommend it to people and have rented it a number of times for family and friends-which means we also get to enjoy the deck on the water with them!
In addition to the spectacular views, this house was comfortable, clean, well stocked and provided us with a relaxing and peaceful vacation. We will certainly return!
It was such a pleasure staying here in September. The place was right on the water, with a great deck and view. The first night, we got to experience a storm with thunder and lightning, and waves crashing which was an exciting experience! The next couple days were calm and we had a perfect view of Mt. Rainier and Tacoma. The ferry was a pleasure to watch and beachcombing with our dog was a perk that we don't get at home. We made our meals in the kitchen that was fully stocked. There is even a washer and dryer. The little stove fireplace made the home very cozy. The bed was comfortable. We got to meet some neighbors that were a pleasure to talk to. We will be back!
Utterly magical, exceeded already high expectations
I’ve stayed at a lot of homes in the puget sound. This had the most magnificent view of any. Rainier, ferry, 220 degrees of water and wildlife. What’s more, it was the most seamless and painless check in and check out in recent memory. Lovely and pleasant interior and huge balcony. Bravo.

About the host
Hosted by Lance Gildea
I am Lance Gildea. My wife Deanna and I, so much enjoy sharing this piece of paradise with our guests. Everyone just wows at the view and just loves what we have done with this little water side cabin that we like to call a cottage.
Why they chose this property
Just love the views and southern exposure to the sun. Mostly because this southern location had the most amount of sun that could be found on the island. We are always in the sun here on Vashon Island. You can only get here by boat. Just the first of so many special things about Vashon. Check it out for yourself. Do a search on Vashon Island.
