Large bright suite with high ceilings and simple kitchenette with a queen bed. Private full bathroom and entrance. Located on a picturesque family farm in the heart of the Fraser Valley.
Canyon Alpine is a small historic community that was built by Elizabeth and Fred Pfenniger (and their family). They originally built the log house... where they started to raise their young family, living off the water from the creek that runs into the lush pasture at the north end of the property while they built the remainder of the farm.
They went on to build the large Swiss style house at the top of the farm, followed by the mobiles and, finally the cabin.
Unfortunately, Fred passed away. The community was devastated and erected a large cross in his honour at his favourite look out point on the backside of the property. Now a popular hiking trail, the cross was replaced by a lighted version and is now an icon of the Fraser Canyon, greeting all weary travellers as they pass, or arrive at Canyon Alpine.
The trailhead for Canyon Alpine Cross is at the upper end of the property. The "Alpine Cross Trail" is a fairly short, but steep hike and has signage. It ends with sweeping panoramic views of the Fraser Canyon at the cross.
If you continue past the cross, there are endless amounts of trails, logging roads and gold mining routes through some of BC's most rugged and stunning terrain. These trails can be accessed by foot, mountain bike or horse and we'd be happy to help you plan your route.
