Beautiful hidden paradise

Beautiful, clean and inviting property. The view was breath taken. So calm and quiet to rest and enjoy the evening. The bedroom were comfortable The property is highly recommended.

The most beautiful place

This is a peaceful and beautiful part of old Florida. Excellent host and accommodations. Jack and Theresa are lovely and gracious hosts. You will leave with an experience of natural and wild Florida imprinted in your heart. Highly recommend.

Almost Perfect...

I was looking for a serene place to share a weekend with a good family friend to have a memorial service for my Dad and Mom who recently passed. The fire pit and beautiful property had me at hello. Both met, if not exceeded, our expectations. The property is truly serene and stunning. I messaged the owner (Jack...who is great) after my stay and shared that we checked out a day early and provided the reasons why. Figured I would message him directly versus including my feedback in a review. But, I did not hear back and I want to check this review off my to-do list. The main home was overall very nice. The living room quarters with the beautiful river view was outstanding. The air conditioning was great (very important for Florida properties). That said, here's what didn't set well with us: 1) Upon entry, the first thing you see is the refrigerator. It's certainly serviceable, but the outside doors had mold on them. Not a great first impression. My first thought was, "Yuck!" I suggested a fridge upgrade. 2) The mattress and pillows in the master bedroom were horrible. I shared with Jack that I'd likely stay at this property 3 to 4 times a year if he upgraded both the fridge and the master bedroom bed and pillows. I never understand why VRBO owners do not consider comfort. Beds and pillows are NOT where you cut corners. The springs from the mattress poking my back throughout the night(s) caused me to say screw it, we're leaving a day early because I cannot sleep. 3) The swimming pool had not been cleaned for a long time. The water was moldy-green. It certainly wasn't the time of year to swim, but hanging out by the pool was unappealing so we spent most of our time by the fire pit. 4) The home uses well water. No problem if there was a filter to the house. However, there is not. Thus, there is a strong odor of sulfur when the water is running. We brought plenty of bottled water, so drinking from the tap wasn't a concern. But showering in that sulfur water was off-putting. Never felt clean. I provide this constructive feedback hoping Jack takes it as such. If these items were corrected, I would give this property RAVING 5-star reviews. So Jack, I hope you invest in the upgrades ... I'd love to come back. Again and again. But, as is, I'll have to search for serenity elsewhere.

Quite Small Getaway

This little house sits back on a dead-end road. Has a beautiful view. It was peaceful and quiet. We did have a problem with the master shower not working (water just trickled out) and had a stagnant smell each time we used it. Didn’t get a chance to put a pole in the water but looked like a great spot to do some fishing

Peaceful beauty with nature

The view was spectacular. Very peaceful and relaxing listening to all the birds, frogs, and likely some gators grunting. The accommodations for that area were very nice and the owner was easy to communicate with to make sure we had everything we needed. Inverness is about 10-15 minute drive so easy access to restaurants and groceries. As described, the road going into the place was very bumpy especially the first day as it has just rained. The next day they grated the road so that helped. There are airboat rides going through the area but only during the day and during the week it was much less traffic. We would stay here again! Absolutely loved it!

Out in the boondocks

Quiet double-wide mobile overlooking the Withlacoochee River with cypress trees, frogs, crickets and water birds to keep you company. Cozy home with kitchen, 2 beds, 2 baths, a laundry room and kayaks to use while there. There's a 12 cup coffee maker, electric range/oven, toaster and full size fridge and microwave. It's a few miles to the closest grocery store so stop there before heading to the home. Neighbor Randy is friendly and knowledgeable.

Florida River get away

We had a great stay, the property was definitely off the beaten path, just as we wanted. Great views, wildlife, and kayaking. We saw many species of birds and a few gators. Great sunrise views. Jack was very responsive to our needs and questions. The only drawback is the noisy airboat traffic during the day. We did day trips while we were there, so we missed most of the boating hours. I recommend this property if getting close to nature is your goal, we really enjoyed it, It is as advertised.

Great Experience

Love this property! Great for the nature lover with lots to do close by. We went kayaking, ATV riding, ziplining and more. House was great, highly recommend. Thank you Jack for your great hospitality!

We will be back

We where looking for a change from our usual locations. I will get the road question out of the way first. We had no problem in a 2020 Ford Mustang going the posted speed limit of 10 MPH a few spots need to slow to a crawl but no big deal. Peace and quite was a must....This property is just as advertised. We enjoyed watching the various boats and wildlife go by. Mornings are the best and sitting by the pool in the evening was a nice way to end the day. Jack is very helpful with info on the local area. His responses are quick and very thorough. When in the area we will be back. Mark & Liz

A trip back in time

This location is beautiful. It was very clean, which is a must for us. The unit was like going to grandma's house back in the early 80's but don't get me wrong, it is a very nice place. Some other posts complained about the road. It is a long dirt road and it is difficult if you have a vehicle that is low to the ground, especially when it rains. That being said, we managed in a Mustang and a Thunderbird. I think it is worth it just to be away. The host answered all of my questions and best of all, we had a really good time.

Great place to stay!

This property is a wonderful place to stay! The river is amazing and so peaceful. No problems at all with the property. With that said, the road to the property was very rough, and could use a grading out. In spite of the road issues it was a great place to stay.

Private and Relaxing!

Our stay was excellent! Jack and his wife were great hosts! Jack communicated well, provided information for local things to do, and made the check in and out process easy. If you are looking for a private getaway, this house is perfect! The house was very clean inside and out! We very much enjoyed the wildlife, scenic views from the deck overlooking the river, the nature sounds, and the birds! The property and views alone are impressive and are so peaceful. The property is very well landscaped in the front and back yards! My husband and I love to landscape and it is always nice to see the passion that others have for this too! Jack does an excellent job maintaining the property. The house was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable. There were towels and linens, a very well stocked kitchen, soaps for the bathrooms and kitchen, and even laundry supplies! The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. There is the occasional airboat that goes by on the river behind the house but this didn't bother us. When entering the neighborhood there is park land on your right hand side. You can park here and walk or bike the trail. The trail was wide and well groomed. During our stay we visited Ocala National Forest, Crystal River, and Busch Gardens in Tampa. The home was centrally located and we were able to reach these locations within roughly 1 hr. We did not use the pool, not because of any issues, our stay was short and we filled our time with other activities. We would definitely visit again. Thank you Jack for being a great host and sharing this beautiful property.

Absolutely gorgeous

I am a Floridian that lives in Clearwater and researched to leave the craziness of spring break , I had no idea I would find this piece of heaven! The views are amazing , the property was just outstanding ! Coffee on the deck with the sun coming up over looking the lake I can not describe it was post card worthy. I was already planning when to come back before the first night was even over ! Thank you Jack for sharing your wonderful property!

We're originally from Florida but have been gone for many years now. If you want the ultimate Florida scenery and wildlife, this is a cool place. Just as important though, are the owners. We didn't have the fortune of meeting his wife however, Jack is a cool and accommodating guy. Made us feel very welcome.
