About this property

Lakefront/Dock/4 bedroms S Lake Leelanau

If you Love the water, you'll LOVE Lake Leelanau. Bring your boat or rent one, because you will want to experience the 23 miles of pure heaven that Lake Leelanau has to offer. Our cottage is located on the South Lake Leelanu along the West Shore close to Bel-Lago Winery. The swimming out front is a wonderful shallow, hard sandy bottom. . . No Rocks or Muck! - Great for small children and big kids too. The lake is clear and beautiful, we often snorkel the drop-off beyond the dock. We call it the Fresh Water Caribbean of the North . . .that you can drive to. Lake Leelanau is also well know as a fishing lake. We have caught perch, walleye, bluegill and bass within our cove.

Our cottage has 4 bedrooms; 3 upstairs, & a full bath and 1 bedroom downstairs & a full bath. It has a fully equipped kitchen, family room that faces the lake and opens onto a large deck. The cottage is on a private road, so the setting is quiet and peaceful. After an early morning ski, pull the boat on the lift & enjoy breakfast on the deck. Enjoy the shallow swimming right out front. But don't forget the boat trip to Leland for lunch and shopping. And when you go to gas the boat up at Lakeside, the chili dogs are to die for. Or boat to Dick's Pour House for supper and come back and enjoy a peaceful Michigan summer evening around the campfire. It's the perfect place for the whole family to come and enjoy. Great sandy bottom

Great deck, great air conditioning, nice house on a nice private road. Second fridge in garage is helpful and the kitchen had everything we needed. We would definitely stay there again.

Weekend away

This property had all the amenities needed for a great girl's weekend away. It was close to Traverse City and wine tasting, but far enough away to enjoy to quiet at night and in the morning. The house was clean and the owner was very helpful with any questions I had before and during the stay.

Beautiful place on Lake Leelanau

We had a great time at the cottage! The location is perfect on the lake and on a quiet private drive. The house was clean and very well stocked with everything we needed (toilet paper, paper towels, spices, etc). We had good communication with the owner and received great recommendations for what to do in the area. Highly recommend!

The Perfect Getaway

We had such a great time staying at this dog-friendly lakefront cottage located on a private road. We enjoyed beautiful sunrises, outdoor time on the deck and in the spacious yard, as well as exploring the lake in our boat. The property is updated and well taken care of and has numerous amenities- a true home away from home. Our dog also gives the property two paws up! We are looking forward to our next stay!

Fabulous location! Great for kids and dogs!

Water access is terrific and property is well kept. Only complaint is that all the pots and pans must be replaced and cooking accessories are much fewer than at other places we rented. All are nonstick pans are burned and scratched unusable. Had to buy skillets locally to cook at all. Take your own knives, there are none excepr steak knives.

If You Seek a Beautiful Peninsula, Look About

Terrific family and dog friendly house on the west shore of the lower part of Lake Leelanau. House was exactly as marketed. One of the best equipped kitchens of any VRBO we've rented. Tons of outdoor seating between the deck, fire-pit and dock/beach area. Sandy lake bottom with drop-off not too far off of the very end of the dock. Quiet, private neighborhood. Anything one could possibly want to do on the peninsula or the west side of Traverse City is 30 minutes away, max. Importantly, Nine Bean Rows is much closer. Responsive owner/manager.

Great Leelanau lake week!

Had a great stay at the Lake House that really left nothing to be desired. Everything was updated, clean, and working order. Kitchen was very well accommodated and had any extra item we forgot at home, and the house sits perfectly on the leeward side of Leelanau so you have some shelter if the wind is blowing. Kids loved the sandy bottom, waist-deep water right out the back that goes out for a couple hundred feet or so. Owners were kind enough to let us use their boat lift for the week which fit our 21' v hull boat with room to spare. Leelanau is a great lake for both fishing and and rec boating, my son and I caught walleye every morning and we wakeboarded every afternoon. Be sure to bring 250' of extension cord if you need to charge boat batteries overnight. Backyard and dock area was very level with no slope which the grandparent in our group appreciated. Look forward to hopefully coming back in the future!

Was really looking forward to this trip

I searched several months in advance for an air conditioned home on Lake Leelanau. This home had good reviews, and after an email conversation with the owners, they confirmed they had working AC. After a five hour drive in the middle of July, we arrived to a sweltering home. When I powered up the AC (which was off), it only blew downstairs where there was only one of the four bedrooms. I called the homeowner, who said “it’s an old cottage we put AC in... go sit by the lake.” The upstairs bedrooms were unbearably hot. We had booked this months in advance, during peak season and were unfortunately stuck there for the week. I called the homeowners again several times, left voicemails/texted; no answer/no reply. After confirming this home had working AC, I felt deceived, as the upstairs bedrooms were 77 degrees at night. While we understand the owners hands might be tied when it comes to the ability for the AC to cool down both floors, transparency about this fact would have allowed us to rent a different home.

Annual Family Get together Trip!

Location, location, location! Right on Lake Leelanau sandy beach with boat dock, Kayaks, Paddleboard & Fire-pit. Enjoyed beautiful Sunrises, outdoor portch dinning, sandy swimming & boating. (Rental Pontoon for week from Sail & Power Boat rentals). We had 7 adults (3 couples for 4 bedrooms w/ 4 queens). We were able to make two bathrooms work. Kitchen was fully stocked w/ Spices, pots & pans, Utensils, drip coffee maker. Private drive access a +. Visit nearby farm for fresh eggs & farm animal watching. Great home/yard for pets.

A Great Family Getaway

We had seven family members from three generations. They spent the days kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming and exploring/shopping with evenings spent playing games and socializing. In fact we had five additional family members who rented a nearby cabin who joined us every evening and we never felt cramped. We have Vrbo’d before and this was our best experience to date.

Glazier Way

Our family has stayed on this street before. We love Lake Leelenau and this was an amazing spot on the lake to hang out with the family. We were able to bring our boat and leverage the best of the lake has to offer. Would definitely come back.

Excellent spot on South Lake Leelanau!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Mosier Cottage on Lake Leelanau! The house itself was one of the best equipped homes we have ever rented. New appliances, dishes, pans, barware, gas grill, it even has a/c which is rare to many “up north cottages. The swimming area is perfect- hard sandy bottom and excellent for our dock jumping Labrador Retriever! She was in the water most of the day! The boat hoist worked great and we took full advantage of cruising the lake and up to the Narrows to dock and then walk up the street for dinner at Dicks Pour House. The ONLY thing that was a little bit of an issue was bringing all of our own towels and sheets, etc. Not a huge deal, but just more to remember to pack, clean, etc... Otherwise an outstanding property in a great location that we would highly recommend! Thank you!

Relaxing weekend with a nice view

We had a nice relaxing weekend and wanted a change of scenery. The house had everything and the downstairs is updated nicely. If only the rain would have let up more there were so many more excursions we wanted to go on!

Beautiful quiet country setting on lake

We had a comfortable stay at the cottage. The lake view of course was tranquil even when it was overcast. Highly recommend bringing binoculars as we got some great views of the moon reflecting on the lake at night and watched birds as well. Great kitchen and comfortable living area. Plenty of blankets and pillows. We enjoyed walking the dog down by the pig farm up the road too!

Beautiful place - We give it two paws up

We loved the lake views (with beautiful sunrises), open layout, & newly updated lower level at this dog friendly house. The house was clean upon arrival, had the main kitchen items we needed, & they had wood for the fire pit. It’s close to local sites, which made exploring easy - i.e. approx. 20-30 minutes from Leland, Sutton’s Bay, Traverse City, Sleeping Bear. We’d highly recommend this house & hope to return soon!!

Great place, beautiful view!

We have lovely time staying at this lake house. Plenty of space for our small family, nice to have upstairs and downstairs. Nice open concept with great views of the lake. Large patio and very close to water. Wish it was a bit warmer so we could have enjoyed the water even more! Very easy check in and out. Thanks for everything!

Up north vacation

This was the best location that we stayed at in Michigan! The view from the cottage and backyard was spectacular! The cottage was perfect for our needs and the kitchen had everything we needed. The location was close to all the things we wanted to do (Sleeping Bear Dunes, bike trails, Traverse City, wineries, etc...)The kayaks and paddle board was a huge plus! Susanne was very responsive to questions and the whole rental process was seamless. We had a fabulous time and hope to return!!!

Heaven on earth!!!

We stayed at this property for two weeks recently. Working from home during the pandemic allowed us to go off the grid for a couple of weeks with our kids, relax, lay low, enjoy the beauty of northern Michigan, have camp fires e dry night, swim in the crystal clear lake each day. The property was literally perfect. It could not have been any better. Clean, rustic yet modern, space for everyone, everything you could need, super quiet and peaceful location. The owner has been lovely and super easy to work with. So sad to leave today! We will for sure be back!!

Owners, Dale & Susanne Mosier, live in work in Tipp City, Ohio. Lake Leelanau is part of the Mosier's history, as Louis Mosier ran the steam boat "The Leelanau" and the Mosier Sawmill in Provemont aka Lake Leelanau in the early 1900's. And Leo Mosier once lived in the house where Dick's Pour House is now. Through the generations, the Mosier Love for Lake Leelanau has continued. We share our love of the lake & the area with you, through our cottage. We hope you enjoy!

Why they chose this property

Glazier Beach has the best private cove on the S Lake with a party sandy bar at the top of the cove, an awesome hard sand bottom to play in the water, and a private road with very little traffic. With the prevailing west winds to our back, normally keeps our side of the lake very calm. Bel-Logo Winery at the top of the hill makes for a convenient happy hour stop.

What makes this property unique

Not your typical rental, but our Happy Place that we share with you. Our cottage is stocked with all the necessities needed for fun. The kitchen is well stocked with spices & cooking basics to use and share.
