Overall a wonderful place to stay for a one night girls trip! It was overall fine cleanliness wise and the host was relatively quick with communication.
Check-in went through a little bit of difficulty as the door needed more push to open, but the host was fast to respond. Clean rooms and spacious space. LOVE the hot tub! Fun house for a night getaway trip around Ithaca

Clean and just what we needed for the family to stay
Clean house. House was decent and having 3 bedrooms for our family was perfect. I have to be honest… the outside is not well maintained. Need to make it a bit more inviting and cleaned up. Lawn needed mowed big time.

Questionable
Got there and had asked about the basement but never got a response. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher. The house was very hot and stuffy. The window in one bedroom fell out when no one was even in the room. Not making one feel real secure

College Kids Dormer
This place would be great for college kids looking to bunk down for the night. We were 2 adult couples for a weekend and found the place lacking. Bath towels included but no hand towels or wash clothes. Kitchen was just barely stocked to get by. House was in some disrepair and not up to level of photos/listing. Some lights didn’t work, knobs missing on stove and such.
Basement bathroom was very dirty.

This property was well maintained and the perfect place to stay during Move-in week at the Ithaca Campus. 5 minutes or less from the school and access to the 'back entrance' without any turns made it easy to get in and out during the most chaotic time of the year.
My only 'complaints' were that the home is obviously a flip/money-making property and needs a little more work to polish it off - and that the Beds in the Gray/Grey rooms migrated during the night on the vinyl flooring (They could use some rubber feet or padding to prevent this), and that I had no idea it had a Hot Tub out back. I'd have made use of it if I'd known to bring some swimming trunks!!
I am very grateful that he marks the end of the driveway with lights - it's dark and not well lit on the back-road the home is on - but there was plenty of space for parking. Communication was good. I would stay there again.

Beware! Keep scrolling! Do not rent!
We arrived and opened the door to find 10-15 giant spiders scatter everywhere. They appeared to be wolf spiders. We were only there one night and killed a minimum of 50 spiders. We called VRBO for help and they could not reach the owner. We were forced to stay the night bc we had no where else to go.someone got 4 giant spider bites while they were sleeping.
Additionally, we were charged an extra $75 to rent the basement and it was literally just an unfinished basement with a pop up bed. There was no door/separate lock to the basement. You access it through the garage that you can get to through the kitchen. This could be a major safety issue if different parties are renting the upstairs and the basement.
There were random people that showed up outside and blocked the driveway 3 times. They did not introduce themselves or provide any information why they were there. It was more than a little unsettling.
I would avoid this property at all costs.
JackSun is nice and the plusses of this property are that it's well laid out, with a good amount of space, and located within a 10-12 minute drive to Cornell. Overall, we had a nice stay.
However, if you're accustomed to high-end rentals, you may need to relax your expectations on cleanliness before booking this location.
The house was not spotless (like crumbs in the freezer and a sticky substance on the sheets). I did let him know about these, and he quickly and kindly responded, which I appreciated.
If you're sensitive to smells, the house had a liberal use of glade plug-ins during our stay. We needed to unplug them for our comfort - just personal preference.
We paid an extra fee for the basement but didn't use it, as it's accessed through a garage that is filled with used mattresses and junk, and a set of dirty concrete stairs.
All in all, this was a comfortable stay for six people, with a spacious living area, nice kitchen, and a kind host. Thank you, JackSun!
Nice place; we had everything that we needed for our stay. Do recommend:)

Not great
The house was not clean when we got there. There was dust, hair in the bathtub, the floors were obviously untouched. The air wasn’t turned on so it was very hot. I did not read well enough and there is also a place to stay in the backyard and in the basement of the house which the owner stays in when other guests are not which was not very comforting being it was a girls trip. We only stayed one night so it was fine. If we were staying longer, we probably wouldn’t have continued staying here. Wouldn’t book again but wasn’t the worst VRBO I’ve ever been to.
The kitchen and bath redos were the greats at this property, and the beds were comfortable. We left a list of simple to do improvements for the host; cleaning issues, lighting, add cable tv, put an electrical outlet in the 1/2 bath, get a few more teaspoons, etc. Owner left food in refrigerator and freezer which we thought was strange, although not much of a problem. We found bedding in the washer that had been washed and forgotten and smelled musty. Towels were mixed, and only one hand towel for 4 people and no face cloths necessitated buying our own. Although we found the accommodations to be a little less than ideal, it did not keep us from enjoying the area.
Location is great. Quiet with private backyard. Still can be improved for cleanness. The property has a few flies when we opened the door. A few lights were off, making the living room and kitchen dark at night, not helpful for a family dinner.
I truly enjoyed my stay in Ithaca at this place. It was spacious, comfortable, close to Ithaca, and the owner was great to work with.
I hope to be able to stay there again!
The place was as pictured and had nice furnishings however it was not cleaned. You could tell that it had not been vacuumed or dusted for some time. The tub had hair in it so it was obviously not cleaned. Also if there is a tenant downstairs you can hear them and the water pump when they use the bathroom.
My husband and I have been visiting Ithaca for years, and I grew up going there when my grandparents lived there. It’s a beautiful place to visit. The house was as pictured. However, I will say that it wasn’t as clean as we would have expected. There was food on the counters and the counter in the living room hadn’t been vacuumed. Otherwise, it was a great property.
The owner was great with communication, and the house was very clean and spacious! They had every amenity we needed. Super comfy mattresses and a great TV/sound system. Thanks for a great stay!
We really enjoyed staying at the property. The owner accommodated us by letting us have an early check in and dropping off our bags. The house is close enough to town but far enough so you feel like you have privacy. Overall very nice!

VRBO is Great! I always try to use VRBO whenever I travel! Great Concept and able to enjoy different spaces or finding great prices, and no hotel frills that you don't really need! Save your money and spend it on food! drinks, other experiences :)
Why they chose this property
Stay in a modern ranch house thats only 4-5 minutes from the commons! Yet its quieter then staying downtown, and in a beautiful suburban setting with trees and wooded areas throughout! I have over 60 listings with a different VRBO type site ;) First venture into the VRBO Platform. If you check the "Most Popular Site" You will find me everywhere!
