About this property

Charming duplex Artistic Heritage of the XVth Century Catalan Gothic Style.

It is a 100 m2 apartment with a great historic value, catalogued by the UNESCO as Artistic Heritage of the XVth century Catalan Gothic style and where the famous writer Miguel de Cervantes lived for some time during his stay in the city.

It was completely reformed and has been turned into a luminous duplex conserving the old stone walls and arches giving the space a special charm.

On the main floor there is a double room with private toilette with shower, a bathroom with bathtub, a full equipped kitchen (electric kettle, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine) and a dinning - living room. It is also provided with a semi independent space next to the living-room separated by the arch and thick curtains where an extra guest can sleep in a comfortable sofa-bed. On the upper level there is the the main double-bedroom.

Excellent choice

Beautiful property in an ideal location for exploring the old city. The hosts were very friendly and responsive. The apartment is up just one floor and there is a elevator for moving luggage which we appreciated. Lots of good cafes and restaurants nearby. You can walk to most of the sights people visit.

Unique Rental

We spent 3 nights in this unique and charming apartment. Communication with the host, Rebeca, was very good, Check in was easy. Alex met us at the apartment and showed us the features of the apartment. He made sure that we had basic supplies (coffee, soap, water). The location is great for sites in the Gothic Quarter. There is a lot of activity by the apartment but, for the most part, the apartment was quiet. To get to Sagrada Familia and sites outside of the Gothic Quarter we had to take a cab. Hailing a cab was not a problem. It was fun staying in this apartment. It was great for our short stay in Barcelona.

Great location for walking into Gothic area. So much to see. Property has everything. We didn’t really use the kitchen as we went out to eat but you could. No complaints. Cool loft.

THE most amazing location in Barcelona

This is the most beautifully done apartment located in the most amazing area of the city. Communication with the owners was perfect. I would stay here a million times again. But note. The location is in the absolute middle of numerous bars and restaurants and the noise outside doesn’t die down until 1 or 2am. If you’re a light sleeper, this may be bothersome. The beds are extra firm and the unit comes with a washer and dryer.

Best service and communication I have ever had

Honestly I can’t say enough amazing things about the hosts. They helped us with our bags and offered above And beyond service for our stay. The building is a beautiful historical building and was in an amazing location. But the real gem was the hosts here, I have never had this level of service even going so far as to go to the grocery store to get us coffee. Thank you so much we had the best time :)

Loved it!!

This is an amazing apartment and one of the most unique rentals we’ve ever had the opportunity to stay in. We were right by the gothic district that was so fun to wander in and a short 15 min walk to Barceloneta beach. Our host, Alex, met us at the apartment on arrival and gave a thorough orientation. He made sure we’d be able to contact him via whats app and even helped with lots of restaurant recommendations!! He remained easy to contact and was gracious and patient helping us through a couple of minor snafus that we accidentally caused. Would definitely recommend! The street in front is quite busy but didn’t bother us at night with the windows closed.

Really cool apartment!

This apartment has a really deep history and while it is historic it is very modern and well laid out. The kitchen has everything you need with modern amenities. The beds are very comfortable and the upstairs room is still private even though it has a side of windows. There is a door. The extra room off the living room is a bonus. It has a nice day bed and a desk we worked from. The views are right over the main road and across from the marina and lots of restaurants with a short walk to the beach. The windows are over a few restaurants so it was nice to see the activity. The only thing to be aware of is that the master bedroom on the main floor has a window over the alleyway. This gets very noisy at night as there are a lot of people walking back and forth from the restaurants and bars. I suggest bringing a loud portable fan. The entryway and elevator are very handy and airconditioned. Central air was also great in the apartment. The Merveil property management team is great. Our check-in was super fast and very helpful. Marco was very sweet. We highly recommend this property!!!

Sweet Historic Spot

My husband, adult daughter and I enjoyed our stay in this cool, historic spot! The location is wonderful, near the water, restaurants and shops. Great view from the balcony! Our host Alex met us and was very helpful and gave us restaurant recommendations that were spot on. There are twin beds in the downstairs bedroom, a queen (I think) bed upstairs in the loft and 2 full bathrooms downstairs. We used the dishwasher, washer and dryer and everything worked well. Also, there is a day bed downstairs so we could have had one more person stay. All in all, I would highly recommend it! Thank you Alex!

our family of 4 with small children was comfortable here for an extended stay. close to many tourist attractions, super markets,restaurants, easy to catch taxis and walkable to beaches (though we stop going to the nearest Barcelonetta beach after first swim beacuse the water is FILTHY, the beach resembles a 'communal ashtray', and the urin stench along the paved walkway). host Alex was super sweet,responsive and accommodating. he met us for check in which was very nice. what lacked in clealiness, he made up for it. the house was equipped with most everything I needed but I wished I had brought my own kitchen knife (later they brought two sharp knives). Also for a long stay, I'd definitely purchase an air purifier and a water purifier pitcher shipped in advance, it'd been much healthier. my request to future guests is, if you don't have enough time to tidy up, please at least let the host know instead of leaving a mess that are difficult for the cleaning crew to spot. Big Thanks! to Alex!

Great location and beautiful apartment

We so enjoyed our stay at this beautiful apartment. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms made it great for us and our granddaughters. Everything was very clean and convenient. Our host met us and showed us everything we needed to know and was available for questions by phone and text as needed.

Incredibly convenient, beautiful apartment.

Myself, my partner, and two children stayed here and it was perfect. So convenient and walkable to the beach, the port, and the gothic district you really couldn’t find a better location! The owners were communicative and the apartment was clean with plenty of fresh linens and towels. I would 100% stay here again and highly recommend it. It can be a little noisy until midnight-ish but the bedroom in the loft is nearly soundproof. If you’re staying in the downstairs room and sensitive to sound, it wasn’t anything a fan or some headphones couldn’t handle. My husband and kids slept right through it. Definitely not a deal breaker but just worth mentioning!
