Lovely “Spring House”
The directions were perfect and I’m glad you included that the driveway would be easy to miss. The house was very clean and exactly what we’re were told we were going to get. We loved relaxing on the high porch overlooking the property. Listening to the goats play was entertaining. We didn’t spend a whole lot of time at the house because we were out exploring but it was the perfect house for our group. We did take the hikers trail up the mountain to find the primitive cabin. That was pretty neat. We loooooved the late checkout time. We were able to enjoy the mountain morning and make a big breakfast before we left. It was the perfect getaway. Thank you.

Great time in the Mountains!!
This house was loads of fun for my family and I at Thanksgiving. The proximity to West Jefferson was great. We had fun playing with the goats and chickens. The hike up to the old log cabin was cool too!! John was a very accommodating host and responded quickly to any questions.

Family Time at Mill Creek
The home was just as stated. Nice and homey. The property was just as nice with a large front yard that was on th side of the mountain. The kids had a blast rolling down it. The home is secluded even though the owner lives just above it, we never saw them other than the day of cheek in. Would definitely stay there again.

2021 family vacation
Really nice house and property. We used it as a central location to do the Virginia creeper trail and go to blowing rock. West Jefferson was a cool town and this house was super nice for when we weren't out and about. We enjoyed our stay and really liked the house. It was a cool place with some neat books and pictures inside and would definitely stay again if in the area.

Great property to rent for a relaxing vacation. The house was clean and had ample supplies for the 5 adults in our group. Loved watching the deer in the front each evening. Peaceful and Charming
Our stay at Springhouse on Mill Creek was excellent. It was everything we expected. Everyone enjoyed the house and it’s peaceful surroundings. Walking the property, relaxing in the hammock or on the front porch, you are surrounded by nature and it’s beauty. The house is furnished with beautiful antiques and is so inviting and cozy. I hope I can plan a trip there again soon!

Charming little farmhouse!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Spring House! We were only able to stay for an extended weekend of hiking, but we had a wonderful few days. This is probably the cleanest VRBO rental we have encountered. The yard and home are beautifully kept; and the little goats are so entertaining! Sitting out on the front porch is such a peaceful experience that you can just feel the stress leaving your body. It's so nice to sit on the swing and enjoy the many varieties of plants and shrubs while watching the birds and hearing the soothing sounds of a mountain stream. I would love to know a little more history of the property, as you can tell it has been well loved and they spent a lifetime turning it into a serene home and great nature habitat . The only recommendation I would make is to add thick mattress pads to the beds as they are quite firm (master bed does have one). Overall, the Spring House is definitely one of our top five favorites that we have already recommended to family and friends. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Absolutely beautiful farmhouse, little mountain farm and so peaceful.
We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet and tranquility of looking out windows & sitting on porches to watch wildlife not just of the farm but the deer passing by each and every day. The drive to town is not that far and quite enjoyable with a wonderful view along the way. We enjoyed sitting by the fire, hiking along the property and viewing all the animals on the little farm. The house has lovely vintage touches & antiques including the beds throughout the home. Time spent here & reminding you of times gone by from perhaps your childhood., memories of grandma’s house or perhaps your own home growing up. Thank you for sharing your home with us and others.

Thanksgiving Away From Home
Our family always goes to West Jefferson area for our Thanksgiving. I rent a house each year. This house felt like a home. Enough room for our 3 year old to play and the adults to have time together to visit. Comfy and cozy! Very clean and all the descriptions were accurate!

Off the beaten path
At first we wondered (and wandered) just where we were going, however after arriving we realized we were most definitely in the right place! Beautiful and peaceful! This country home will grow on you every minute, from the goats (very friendly) and chickens to the wildlife to the scenery to the small cemetery up the hill. Close enough to the Virginia Creeper Trail and Grayson Highlands Park! We will be back!

We had a wonderful stay and can't wait to return. The house was beautifull relaxing and could not imagine a better place to spend our daughters 16th birthday. Close enough to the river to enjoy yet away from the hustle and bustle of it. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to return!!

This place was great! My spouse and I spent two weeks here celebrating our 31st anniversary. We enjoyed breakfast with deer, birds, ducks, goats and a few other critters. We are looking forward to returning.

Idyllic country getaway
My husband and I wanted a peaceful getaway for a few days after dropping our kids at camp and we couldn't have chosen a better spot. This is a very pretty historic farmhouse in a quiet spot off the road, surrounded by beautiful countryside. We spent our mornings drinking coffee on the lovely porch watching the birds tend to their young in the birdhouses, as well as spotting the occasional deer and rabbit.
