Hello! Welcome to discover this unique villa in Marrakech. The photos are from 2022, but more are on our insta page: ourhousemarrakech. You'll be able to enjoy the gentle days in the garden, by the pool and feel the positive energy emanating from the house's earthen walls.
But first a word about the earthquake of September 08, 2023, which devastated villages in the Atlas Mountains, 80 km from Marrakech. The structure and walls of the house were not affected, only the wall coverings, plaster and other Moroccan tadelakts cracked. At the beginning of 2024, 3 weeks of minor work restored the house to its former glory.
We have a regular clientele who return regularly and book up to a year in advance. This is a sure sign.
This house was made for you to love it. It's a house surrounded by olive trees in a Provencal natural setting, and the guarantee of a sunny vacation in the countryside (but close to the city) and... not overlooked.
And what praise and 5 stars in the comments! For the quality of our welcome, our availability, the beauty of the house, simple but warm, the shady garden, the meals prepared on request. In Morocco, it's said that the best cuisine is home cooking, and it's true!
4 double beds and 3 single beds in 5 rooms, with the possibility of adding single beds in the small lounges adjoining the rooms. We have 5 air-conditioned bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The house is ideal for 11 people, but has already been fitted out for a family of 14, including 6 children.
The house was designed by an architect with a passion for Moroccan earth construction. Built between 2006 and 2008, it is inspired by the kasbahs of southern Morocco and respects the tradition of Moroccan houses... but with all the comforts of contemporary homes, including air conditioning and central heating, which is rare in Marrakech.
Just 20 minutes from the airport and Marrakech medina (the Carrefour supermarket is a 10-minute drive away), this charming house with large swimming pool (20 m x 4 m) is set in a 1.5-hectare olive grove, planted with 200 olive trees and embellished by a garden of orange, apricot, fig and pomegranate trees.
The property is ideal for families and groups of friends, with its vast landscaped garden: a 300 m track for rollerblading and scootering, a ping-pong table and the possibility of playing pétanque (boules provided). The swimming pool is secured by an attractive bamboo fence.
It's also perfect for romantic getaways, with its discreet nooks and crannies.
First floor: large living room (fireplace) and dining room seating up to 12, small living room (fireplace), small dining room seating 4.
First floor: 4 bedrooms opening onto the garden, one with private shower room (the other three share a shower room).
Upstairs, a large bedroom with lounge and dressing room, bathroom (bath + shower) and large terraces with Atlas views.
Terraces for dining or lounging surround the house.
Visitors to Marrakech are always surprised by the contrast between the hustle and bustle of the noisy medina and the calm of the houses (riads or other) they enter. When you return to the villa after an excursion to the medina, you'll be struck by the same contrast... but with the chance to take a dip in the swimming pool surrounded by nature's bounty.
From early June to late September, the pool water temperature is between 27° and 29°. But you can also swim from March to November. In March, the water is at 20° and begins its slow ascent to 29° in August.
Living the Moroccan Art de Vivre in our home also means enjoying a unique experience: feasting on Moroccan flavors and aromas. On request, your Moroccan meals will be prepared by a cook at her home in the village and delivered to the house at the agreed mealtime.
On the menu, of course, the famous tagines (choice of 8) and couscous (choice of 3), but also tanjia marrakchia (a dish of beef or lamb with lemon), trid (a rare specialty of chicken served with lentils and Moroccan pancakes), harira (a coriander soup), etc.... Fresh bread (the family bread, belbout), crêpes, msemen, etc. are also available daily.
In the kitchen, on arrival, you'll find spices and olive oil from the garden. In the garden, mint is available for Moroccan tea, as well as chiba (wormwood), louiza (verbena) and rosemary, which give the tea a very special flavor.
From the orchard, too, depending on the season, lemons, oranges, apricots (June), pomegranates (October), quinces (October), figs (July/August)...
