CASA CABERNET- A RARE FIND AMONGST THE VINES IN ST. HELENA, CA. NAPA VALLEY

Casa Cabernet , in St. Helena, the heart of The Napa Valley, RENTS BY THE MONTH OR LONG TERM. Tenants are offered a discount rate, depending on the length of the stay.
My monthly rate is $5,500 and for 6 months or longer, $4,500
This very special place is the perfect retreat in which to relax and soak in the NAPA VALLEY LIFESTYLE. "It is the ultimate destination for those seeking chic tranquility." The owner of Casa Cabernet has always been aware of the importance of keeping a clean environment. This is not a change, as COVID 19 Guidelines for a clean environment have always been followed. Professionally laundered linens and once a week thorough cleaning weekly are two of the many amenities that the Casa has always offered.

This property is located approximately 2 miles from the town of St. Helena. St. Helena is sometimes referred to as the HEART OF THE NAPA VALLEY.
Casa Cabernet is an ideal, restorative place for long-term residents who are re-locating to St. Helena--working with realtors to find a new home, or re-modeling an existing home, or, simply a great get-away for a wonderful vacation in the country.
Long-term guests rent for less than the established monthly price. Many guests find it a quiet, pleasant, work from home environment, complete with reliable internet service provided by the owner.
It is located on five acres in the premier Rutherford Appellation or Rutherford Bench, as it is known. The Rutherford Bench refers to the 6 mile stretch that boasts the most famous soil profile. It is known to produce celebrated wines that taste dark berries and sassafrass with dusty tannins. The primary residents here are grapevines, and especially Cabernet Sauvignon Vines. Your stay at Casa Cabernet, in the heart of Napa Valley Wine Country, is owned and lovingly operated by Gaye G. Cook, a longtime resident of the Valley.
This is the kind of place that feels like home from the moment you enter, with first class amenities, to ensure that your stay is luxurious. Once a week maid service is provided by the owner. Other amenities include once a week linen service, wood for the fireplace, and more. Rooms are spacious, all with lovely views, a private terrace and grape arbor under which you may enjoy a picnic or evening under the stars.

Guests can shop the local Farmers Markets and cook in the well-equipped kitchen, or imbibe in one of the many fabulous restaurants throughout the Valley, many of which are nearby. A fabulous gym and spa are located nearby.

You can take the cottage bikes for a spin or walk through the lush vineyards.. Many of the fine wineries are within walking distance of the cottage. Or, you can walk through the vineyards to the new "Gary's Marketplace" to enjoy a latte and a morning sweet. On a warm summer's day you can lounge around the beautiful swimming pool and soak in the gorgeous views of Mount St. John.

Your cottage is set amongst the vines with forty two acres of privacy. You can be in the town of St. Helena in minutes or travel to nearby destinations, such as San Francisco, Sonoma, Healdsburg, and even the north coast beaches such as Bodega Bay.
The cottage is a fabulous place to recharge your batteries after a day of exploring.
I think you will enjoy reading the reviews to get a real sense of living in a truly special place.

Casa Cabernet RENTS BY THE MONTH OR LONG TERM. Rents from the first of each month to the end of the month. The minimum age for tenants is 35. Long-term guests are welcome and are offered a special rate of $4,500.(6 months or longer)

An Unforgettable Stay at Casa Cabernet
Our stay at Casa Cabernet in St. Helena was nothing short of exceptional. The hostess was incredibly welcoming, striking the perfect balance between respecting our privacy and engaging us with delightful personal interactions. Her proactive communication ensured we were always informed about any property-related activities, like when the gardeners were scheduled, which added to the ease of our stay. We were particularly impressed by her flexibility and dedication - going so far as to update the entire Wi-Fi setup to accommodate our internet speed requirements (for remote work purposes). Despite first meeting Gaye as the hostess of this beautiful property, we quickly grew to call her a friend. Casa Cabernet itself is a haven of serenity, offering the perfect retreat to unwind and immerse oneself in the true Napa Valley lifestyle. The location, just 2 miles from the charming town of St. Helena, places you right in the heart of the valley, allowing easy access to local attractions. This property truly is the ultimate destination for those seeking chic tranquility. We highly recommend it!

Wonderful!
A little slice of heaven in the middle of the best that Napa Valley has to offer! Gaye is the loveliest person who is thoughtful, kind and the most gracious host who provides for everything you could possibly need in the cottage whilst still respecting your privacy completely. I arrived tired and anxious and my month at Casa Cabernet has left me feeling whole again, and able to take on the challenges ahead. Thank you so very much Gaye, you and your property are unforgettable x

casa cabernet perfection
Casa Cabernet is the quintessential wine vacation experience. Everything exceeded our expectations. The house is spotless, well equipped, and nicely appointed (you will love the luxurious bedding). The setting/landscape is professionally designed and maintained. Serenity best describes the feeling you get enjoying a glass of wine just outside your door or by the gorgeous pool that Gaye Cook invites you to use. She is the perfect host, always available to answer any questions and provide everything to make your stay exceptional. Diane and I felt welcomed and valued as her guests. Gaye is a fountain of local knowledge and history. We will definitely return - a month went by in a blink of an eye.

Rural reverie
If you're looking for a charming cottage surrounded by vineyards on all sides for as far as the eye can see in the heart of the Napa valley, Casa Cabernet is your destination. Gaye is the consummate host who proactively sees to all your needs from inviting you to pick whatever you want from her extensive garden - flowers, herbs, tomatoes - to enjoying the sweeping valley and mountain views from her nearly Olympic-size pool. The cottage is perfectly outfitted for day to day living - kitchen, laundry, closets and clothing storage - with superb weekly maid service to make your stay less stressful. The location is very private yet only minutes from Rutherford to the south and minutes to St, Helena to the north. Flora Springs winery, at the western end of Zinfandel Lane, is an easy bike ride from the cottage without having to cross Highway 29. Having lived in the Napa Valley for many years, we can tell you without hesitation that there is no better place in the Napa Valley to spend your peaceful, relaxing and far from the hotel crowds vacation or relocation home base. As you make your way down Cabernet Lane and the cottage comes in to view, you look around and say to yourself … now THIS is the real Napa Valley!

Another Great Stay at Casa Cabernet!
We stayed at Casa Cabernet four years ago, after which I wrote an extensive review of our fabulous experience at this property. While the fact that we returned is testament to how wonderful the first trip was, I'll summarize. You will not want to leave this place. The house itself is a great retreat. With its open floorplan and windows/sliders to the outside patio, it gives the impression of an even larger space. Very cozy and well-equipped. The property is park-like, beautifully landscaped and sits in the midst of vineyards with amazing 360 degree views. The location is perfect, minutes away from downtown St. Helena with easy access to Calistoga, Yountville and Napa. We also made the trip to Sonoma Valley many days with a relatively short, but winding, drive on the Oakville Grade. As others often point out, I would be remiss in not mentioning the owner, Gaye, who enhances the experience even further by ensuring that you enjoy your time at Casa Cabernet. She takes tremendous pride in the property and rightfully so. That pride is reflected in the condition of the rental and the overall grounds. The weekly cleaning and landscaping service is excellent and unobtrusive. This is a truly special and unique place which you will fall in love with, and will not find replicated elsewhere in the Valley.

Charming Casa in a Scenic Vineyard Setting
A picture perfect California-style and decorated cottage totally surrounded by vineyards and during the Spring, totally immersed in the glorious yellow glow of the mustard blooms, an artist's delight. The architectural design is so carefully crafted that each window uniquely presents an artist's view of this beautiful property. Peace and serenity, magnificent 360 degree mountain views, charming walks thru neighboring vineyards, close proximity to lovely downtown St. Helena are just a glimpse of life at Casa Cabernet. Outstanding restaurants, upscale shopping, the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, picturesque wineries, close proximity to many hiking trails are but a sample of what awaits you at Casa Cabernet. The property reflects the meticulous taste of the owner who respects your privacy and yet so approachable should you have a question or would like a recommendation or two to be sure you experience the Best of Napa Valley, which actually is right where you are, at Casa Cabernet.

Truly a God Wink!
Casa Cabernet was truly a God Wink. I had prayed for a place to take a month long sabbatical from everything in my life. I wanted a place to be still and reflect. I found that in Casa Cabernet - quiet, beauty and a place full of peace. I took cooking classes, toured winery's, ate at many of the local restaurants, meet wonderful people, visited the local farmer's market once a week, read, wrote, laid out by the pool and sipped wine in the lovely courtyard. I got to watch the harvest of the grapes towards the end of my trip. The aroma of the grapes in the air was unreal. Oh, Did I mention the stars! The property was beautiful, immaculate, well appointed. The views were breathe taking from the property's gardens and vineyards to the surrounding vineyards and mountains views. I had to pinch myself at times. I can't say enough about it. I truly fell in love with Casa Cabernet and the owner Gaye. She was lovely, warm, kind, helpful, fun and inspiring. I made a wonderful friend. I feel blessed to have meet her. Casa Cabernet has everything you would need for a lovely vacation. I felt at home from the moment that I got there. I did not want to leave! I will be going back as soon as I can. It holds a very special place in my heart. Thank you Gaye!

TRULY UNIQUE
Once again, on our second stay, the Casa met all of our expectations. The cottage is warm and comfortable, immaculately clean, offering all the comforts of home. Sit by the roaring fire on cool nights listening to your favorite music on the Sonos sound system. The grounds are carefully maintained, dotted with olive trees Surrounded by vineyards, yet minutes to several of the finest wineries and restaurants in the area. Discovered several new walking trails in St. Helena, and at neighboring Lake Hennessey, in addition to just walking in the vineyards in the neighborhoods surrounding the Casa. All of the Valley is within easy access - from Calistoga to Napa,. Within an hours drive is the ferry (a 60 minute ride) to the San Francisco Ferry Building for just a day trip or overnight if that is a desire. One can relax at the Casa by the pool with its unparralled views of the surrounding landscape, or if both a gym and outdoor lap pool is a preference, as it was for us, minutes away at the local Health Spa and Fitness Center. Gaye is caring and attentive to the needs of her guests. The Casa is a reflection of her love and pride in this very special treasure.

The cottage & property were absolutely perfect!
Casa Cabernet is all that the description says it is. Gaye is a wonderful host and her entire property is immaculate. She is lovely and very attentive to your needs while maintaining your privacy. The cottage was definitely my home away from home for the month and I hated to leave. My only concern is that I told so many people about my find that I fear she will be booked when I want to return.

Calming Oasis
Casa Cabernet proved to be a most relaxing and comfortable cottage surrounded on all sides by views of vineyards. Coming from a flat, humid state, it felt surreal to be surrounded by mountains in the distance and vineyards as far as the eye could see. With a beautiful, dry climate, temperatures were so comfortable at night that we had the windows open giving us the best sleep ever. Our host, Gaye, was most welcoming and shared many useful suggestions for restaurants, shopping, and more. The pool was a welcome and refreshing respite to our daily outings which included day trips to Sonoma, San Francisco, Bodega Bay, nearby golf courses, and of course wineries. The location couldn't have been more perfect - close to the main thoroughfare but protected enough by the vineyards that there was no noise. A highlight was watching workers harvest a nearby vineyard! Also, on property we enjoyed grapes, tomatoes, cucumbers, and fresh basil. The cottage was well equipped with a flat screen tv and dvd player, washer, dryer, and every kitchen amenity you could imagine. Casa Cabernet became our home, and leaving was a sad day. In the future, we plan to revisit our casa and new family member, Gaye.

Stunning, Serene, Idyllic --- CASA CABERNET
We are returning guests to Casa Cabernet. We have lost our heart to Casa Cabernet. Totally surrounded by vineyards, meticulously landscaped gardens, early morning sunrises in the vineyards are not to be missed, magnificent mountain views, tranquil setting and oh, the carefully decorated and California feel to Casa Cabernet. The architectural design is so carefully crafted that each window presents an artist's view of this beautiful property. The close proximity to charming downtown St. Helena and the lovely towns of Napa Valley is perfect and close enough to San Francisco for weekly trips to add to our complete enjoyment of Casa Cabernet. It is a privilege to stay here and you will love all the amenities that are offered as part of the Casa Cabernet Lifestyle, Just one caveat, please don't stay here when we wish to return.

Special Find in St. Helena
We had the pleasure of staying at Casa Cabernet in December 2015. Let me begin by mentioning Gaye, the hostess, who could not be more lovely and accommodating. The location is perfect, close to wonderful wineries, restaurants and the town of St. Helena. The cottage is surrounded by beautiful vineyards as well as an amazing garden and swimming pool. The cottage itself is immaculate and charming containing all amenities to make our stay comfortable. The pictures cannot adequately represent what a lovely place Casa Cabernet is. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be returning.

Beautiful Napa Valley Estate
We stayed at Casa Cabernet in January of 2016. It is a wonderful cottage, taking advantage of the all the gorgeous Napa Valley views. It really is a bit of heaven, so spacious and beautifully furnished. This has to be one of the most beautiful properties in Napa Valley. It is a real delight just to stroll in the gardens. We loved being away from the congestion of the town, but were close enough to enjoy the town when we wished. Casa Cabernet is located near many wineries and beautiful vineyards, and we could walk to Dean and DeLucca through the vineyards for gourmet treats. It was very much like staying in a top notch hotel, with maid service weekly. The cottage was cleaned and supplied with fresh linens. Our bed was made up weekly, and all included in the price. It was heaven on earth!

Lovely and relaxing
Casa Cabernet is tucked away in a very private spot surrounded by vineyards. The cottage is a good size and very comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen and laundry room. The pool is at the back of the owners house and she encouraged us to use it whenever we wanted. Her gardens are beautiful and the view from the pool is stunning. We had a wonderfully relaxing month and would certainly return.

Peaceful, comfortable, beautiful…
A perfect retreat within minutes of Napa’s best wineries and restaurants. Casa Cabernet offers an ideal home away from home for those who wish to visit Napa Valley for a few weeks, or a few months. The owner and host of this impeccably appointed cottage takes great care to provide all of the amenities needed to settle into an easy routine. The grounds are well groomed, the kitchen ready for preparing an entire meal – or just heating up last nights leftovers from Press, it’s a short drive to St Helena’s stores and restaurants, the surrounding vineyards taken care of, and magnificent views…. certainly there is not a better view across the valley and up the mountains to the sky than from patios of this cottage. I highly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a private getaway in Napa Valley…. Just not for the dates we plan to return!

incomparable
Exceeded all the expectations we had for our stay. Idyllic, convenient location; idyllic, unmatched surroundings; idyllic, unparalleled cottage. Having spent the month of March as the Spring unfolded in front of us, around us on the property and in the surrounding neighborhood and the Valley, we can wholeheartedly endorse and confirm the words written by the reviewer who stayed at the Casa in April of 2014. Minutes to an inviting Health Club with a heated lap pool, spa and gym; vineyards and neighborhood at your doorstep for walking and wandering; fresh fruits and vegetables , and prepared foods at the local independent market, and at Dean and DeLuca, for those nights you do not want to eat out but do not want to prepare the meal (so hard not to with all the many excellent and diverse choices just minutes away in St.Helena or only several miles away in the surrounding towns); even a weekend farmers market with locally raised meat. Convenient to whatever you would want to do and to explore in the Valley. This IS truly a very special property, and the property IS truly a reflection of the owner's pride in and love of the property. Having seen other properties during our stay, this IS truly" a unique find".

Exceptional in Every Way
I can only begin by stating that the superlative reviews gathered over the years by this property, and the owner Gaye, are absolutely spot-on. My husband and I had the good fortune to stay at Casa Cabernet in the winter months during a portion of the time that our home was undergoing renovation. Our return to Casa Cabernet at the end of each day was the perfect respite from our construction project. Here we could truly relax in a quiet, private and beautiful location, in a cottage perfectly designed and outfitted for two people and meticulously maintained. When the rains came in December, we enjoyed the fireplace thanks to the unending supply of wood that Gaye graciously provides. We love to cook and found everything we needed in the smartly designed kitchen. Weekly cleaning and bed and bath laundry service, and other amenities, are provided at no additional cost - a step up from other properties we've rented. Gaye is always available if you need something, but she's not a hovercraft. We’ve stayed in numerous vacation rentals over the years and have to rate Casa Cabernet as the finest in terms of location, design, comfort, maintenance, cleanliness and value. Gaye is a true steward of the property; her love of her home and gardens, this cottage and the Valley is evident everywhere you look and in everything she does. If you have the opportunity to stay here, don't hesitate a moment, no matter what time of year.

An absolutely beautiful, relaxing month
As soon as I saw Casa Cabernet on the HomeAway site I knew that's where I wanted to stay. I was visiting the U.S. for 3 months and, after a busy time on the east coast, wanted total relaxation and peace to unwind. The owner and I emailed over some time and that confirmed I had made the right choice. She is absolutely delightful and was a pleasure to deal with and to get to know. She has exquisite taste and it shows in both the cottage and the gardens. I spent the month of October at Casa Cabernet and when I arrived at the cottage I thought "this must be heaven". Sooo peaceful, absolutely beautiful setting in gorgeous gardens with spectacular views of the mountains and surrounding vineyards. The cottage itself is perfect and beautifully maintained. From every window (even the bathroom!) there are stunning vistas that kept changing with the autumn colours. I went for strolls each day down the prettiest lanes that changed from green to yellow to red and I never tired of it. I bravely hired a car (driving on the wrong side of the road for me!) so was able to explore not only the lovely town of St Helena, which is only a few minutes away, but all the other towns in the beautiful Napa Valley as well. I also ventured over to Sonoma and Healdsburg which were easy drives, as well as to the coast. My one problem at the cottage was that I probably drank more wine than necessary! It was so lovely sitting in the courtyard having dinner and a wine, and then another ... looking at the sunsets and then the stars. I was truly sad to leave St Helena and Casa Cabernet. It will be a month I will never forget and hopefully one day I can return from the other side of the world.

An absolutely wonderful month!
As soon as my husband and I saw Casa Cabernet on the VRBO website, we were hooked! The photos of the cottage, the grounds and the reviews only added to our excitement so we immediately booked it for a month. During the next few months our correspondence with the owner only reinforced the fact that we were in for a delightful stay. So, when we arrived at the cottage we looked at each other and said "this is to good to be true." However, it really was. (I might add that the photos do not do it justice, since you cannot feel the tranquility that the location has to offer.) All you have to do is unpack your luggage and you will immediately feel at home. Besides being very tastefully decorated (that comes from the owner's exquisite taste), the cottage includes everything you could possibly need. Like other reviewers have already said, because of its wonderful location, you can be in multiple cities within an hour or so (e.g., Yountville, Napa, Healdsburg, Santa Rosa, Calistoga, etc.). - that is, if you ever want to leave. We have rented multiple houses/villas in the U.S. and Europe thru the VRBO website, but my husband and I agreed that this was the best experience we have ever had. We spent an absolutely wonderful month at Casa Cabernet. However, I have to say that our stay was made truly special because of the owner/host. She is the most gracious, interesting and warm person we have had the pleasure of meeting throughout our travels. And, we hope we now have a friend for life.

Casa Cabernet--the best Cabernet in Napa Valley
Given that this has the potential to get lengthy, let me summarize: you will fall in love with Casa Cabernet. As others have previously reported, the cottage itself is perfectly located, tastefully decorated and well-appointed. It is extremely well-designed and its open floor plan, coupled with cathedral-style ceilings and expansive sliders from both the living and bedroom areas to the private patio, make for a much larger indoor/outdoor living space than one would expect. As inviting as the cottage is, I found it hard to stay inside given the beauty of the grounds and the majestic 360 degree views present on this property. While nestled amidst vineyards, the property itself is park-like—beautifully planted and meticulously landscaped—all against a beautiful mountain backdrop. There are numerous outdoor seating options, including the dining table on the patio and picnic tables and benches under beautiful grape arbors. Take it all in with a glass of wine and make sure not to miss the stars at night. Serene? Idyllic? Absolutely! Casa Cabernet is ideally located, minutes to the main street of St. Helena, and close to a myriad of wineries, shops, and, yes, Dean and DeLuca. It is also an easy drive to Yountville, Calistoga or the town of Napa. As it relates to location, I would simply add one other “new” comment: the property is part of a truly beautiful “neighborhood,” providing an ideal setting for early morning or evening walks or bike rides. This location provides the perfect combination of being close to nature and, at the same time, fine wine and dining. I was reminded of the line from the movie, Field of Dreams, “is this heaven?” The cottage and the property are extremely clean and well-maintained. It would be easy to attribute this to the hard work exhibited by the weekly maid and gardening services. Their efforts notwithstanding, I suspect that it is more a reflection of the owner’s pride in and, love of, her property and the attention to detail that she strives for. She is extremely focused on ensuring that your experience at Casa Cabernet is a pleasant one and has struck the perfect balance of displaying heartfelt hospitality while affording as much privacy as you would desire. This is a special property owned by a truly special individual. I am confident you will enjoy it.

Casa Cabernet...Perfection!
Before I get started I must admit that my wife and I were torn about writing this review. We just don't want anyone else to know about this very special cottage so that we can have all to ourselves every time we visit Napa Valley. We've been traveling to the valley annually since 2000. Prior to this trip we've always stayed at one of the resorts or rented other homes in the St. Helena area. I can tell you without a doubt that this will be the only place where my wife and I will stay from now on…assuming the cottage is available (not very likely after people read the reviews on this property). We stayed at Casa Cabernet for 10 days at the beginning of this month (we paid the one month fee) and absolutely fell in love with this cosy cottage and the idyllic location. The cottage is surrounded on every side by mature vineyards with stunning views of the surrounding mountain ranges. As others have written, the cottage is well appointed, tastefully decorated, very clean and has all the amenities you need for a relaxing and private vacation for two. The location is perfect! My wife and I walked through the vineyards and down quiet country roads every morning on our way to Dean and DeLuca for coffee, a breakfast burrito or a one of their delicious pastries. The cottage is only a half mile or so from downtown St. Helena and is central to many of the best wineries (at least our favorites) on HWY 29. When you exit the neighborhood you are on Zinfandel Lane which takes you right to HWY 29 or you can stay on Zinfandel and cut across the valley to the less traveled Silverado Trail to enjoy an afternoon tasting at Joseph Phelps or Mumm. Most importantly, I have to mention the owner of the property. I'm not sure I can put her name in this review so I won't. What I will tell you is that the owner is one of the sweetest and most thoughtful people my wife and I have ever met. She regularly checked in (by email) to make sure had everything we needed and always respected our privacy. I can't say we did the same as we loved going over to her house to visit. We enjoyed talking with her and sharing a glass of winewhile sitting in the backyard watching sunsets every night that would take your breath away. I know some people like to go on vacation and have total privacy but I highly recommend meeting the owner while you are there and visiting with her. You will not be disappointed. We can't wait to see her again soon.

Perfection in the Napa Valley
The owner's description, while wonderfully accurate, cannot convey the exquisite taste and serenity of this magical retreat. My wife and I were seeking a place that felt away from the world, and yet would give us access to markets and restaurants. We found it here, and would say simply, this property was PERFECTION!!! We will be coming back if someone reading this does not move in forever.

A Unique Find in Napa Valley Wine Country
This is a very private, attractive, and simply decorated cottage-house nestled in a Napa Valley vineyard with lovely views of low-lying coastal hills, grape vines, and a beautiful secluded garden and patio. It is thoughtfully equipped, comfortable and relaxing. We enjoyed the open, quiet indoor/outdoor living space so much that we wanted to adopt this place as our own special "home-away-from-home." It is truly unique and wonderful!

I am a long time resident of the Napa Valley, having moved here in 1973, when we began the process of developing five acres, some in grapes and the remainder in home, garden structures, swimming pool and guest house.
Prior to that, I graduated from The University of Ca. Berkeley where I affiliated with the Kappa kappa Gamma Sorority. After graduation, I taught first grade in Berkeley for six years.
My husband and I raised two sons who have families of their own, and I am a proud Mother and Grandmother.
I now rent my guest house and enjoy the process.
It is fun to meet new people and to provide for them so that they have a memorable time in The Napa Valley.

Why they chose this property

This property is considered to be one of the most desirable in the Napa Valley. It is a five acre property with 42 acres surrounding it. There are magnificent views of the vineyards and Mount St. John.
It is a wonderful area in which to enjoy long walks through the vineyards,
It is a short distance to the town of St. Helena and Rutherford, Ca.

What makes this property unique

This property, Casa Cabernet, is a small home for one or two people. When available a larger 3 bedroom, 2 bath home can be rented. Casa Cabernet Grande is truly stunning. It is only available when the smaller Casa is not rented.
I welcome long-term guests to Casa Cabernet with a special price of $4,500 a month, all amenities included.
