About this property

A rare beach front property. White sandy beach just 12 steps away.

Find yourself staying at a true beach house on Madeline Island. This property is new for 2020 and has its own sandy beach. Walk out the door with your beach towel, beverages and snacks. You are right there. Need to restock your supplies walk up the 12 steps and get what you need. This property has spectacular views of barrier beach (the State and Town parks) and Michigan. Bring your paddle-board, kayak or water toys (that you can carry to the beach). Spend your days just lounging and letting go of the stress of city life.

The property has a 10’ x 30’ screened in porch to enjoy a morning sunrise with a cup of coffee, take a nap, read a book, dine out on. It is a great outdoor space to enjoy free of mosquito's. The master bedroom has its own 10’ x 16’ deck with the same spectacular views.

The main house has a large fireplace if you want an evening fire. Too hot but still want to enjoy a fire, gather around the fire pit just outside your door.

This property is an eclectic mish mash of design styles. Enjoy a classic avocado green bathroom, galley style kitchen, bamboo floor, or barber chair.

The house is currently configured to sleep 6. Unfortunately, I have to make the following statement. Recently we have had guests who have exceeded the max guests allowed. This is a direct violation of our reservation policy. As an FYI, if your number of guests exceed the max allowed you will be asked to leave and no refund will be provided.

The three bedrooms consist of a total of 2 queen beds and 2 twin beds. The property consists of 1 ½ baths. The second level has a ½ bath and the main floor (avocado bathroom) has the full bath with a tub shower.

Update 9/6/2020: It pains us to say that we will no longer allow pets at our properties. Failure by the pet owners to follow rules has caused to many issues for us to continue to allow pets. Unfortunately, I am unable to make any exceptions to this policy.

Please be mindful of the Ferry schedule. We can not offer a refund if you can't make the last boat. Please check their website for any travel advisories before traveling. Also, if you are booking very close to your arrival date please pay attention to our strict cancellation policy.

Note: Check in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. Please note due to the very high lodging demand we cannot offer early check in or late check out.

Apostle Island

We went with friends to the Applefest in Bayfield. We enjoyed taking the car ferry to Madeline Island to our rental property. We found the accommodations to be enjoyable with sitting on the porch for coffee, playing games by the fire place, walking the beach, roasting marshmallows at the fire pit. the host was very accessible! everyone we encounter on the island was friendly and loved their unique island. hiking was gorgeous in the parks. Definitely recommend!

Lovely holiday getaway

We had a delightful time in this shorefront property with a short wander down onto the beach. This Fall the colors of the leaves were majestic and while one of the days was rainy we enjoyed cosying up by the log fire and playing games. This is a well positioned cabin - quite rustic.

Great stay

We had an amazing time. Just the relaxing vacation we needed. The house was perfect for our family of six. You could hear the waves from Lake Superior all throughout the house. It was about 9 miles from the town which was easy to navigate and made it very quiet. David was easy to reach and very helpful throughout. He went above and beyond! We would come back here.

Time is irrelevant!

This property is the best of both worlds. One gets a feeling of beachy with a quiet forest twist. The beach has perfect sand and Lake Superor was very clear for swimming! Oh and picking rocks was a fun pastime. I really enjoyed the footwashing station for washing off sand before going into the house. That was a bonus. My kids and I got a kick out of the old crayola crayon tin boxes. My favorite part of the house is the upstairs master bedroom with a balcony, that has a view of Lake Superior that's forever burned in my memory. I will envision this when life gets stressful and pretend Im breathing in that lake air. ⚠️ Warning- that bed is dangerously comfortable, I think I spent 2 hours one morning, lying in bed with the patio door open, listening to the waves roll in. Perfection and Delightful! I absolutely love this place and have plans to try again next summer. Its a place where time doesn't exist! Renee

A beachfront paradise

We came to this cabin looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation. We were not disappointed! The location is perfect. We loved being able to walk down a few steps and enjoy the sandy beach. The cabin was comfortable with amazing views of the lake. We were also pleased with the comfortable beds. The owner made the check-in process easy and was available for questions if we had any. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful location on Madeline Island, this cabin cannot be beaten!

The shoreline and bonfire placement was wonderful! Just amazing to look out over the water, especially from the porch. The cabin was perfect size for my family of 6! Definitely would like to come again!

Dreamy Lakeside Getaway

My sister and I agree that out of all the properties we've been guests at, this is in our top 2. It's a gem of a place that is so relaxing and comfortable, beautifully located for peace and quiet but not far from all the wonderful things to do on the island...if you choose to actually leave this dreamy home. We liked that it was comfortable and had all the amenities you need without the decor being fussy. The beds were incredibly comfortable...they rival luxury hotels. And really all of the furnishings were comfortable and provided lots of options for enjoying the gorgeous location whether you're inside or outside. Even with one rainy day the large screened in porch allowed us to enjoy the lake view and relax. It was our first time to the island and it's just such a special place...this home made it even more so. We recommend staying here to anyone that's looking for peace, quiet, and comfort in a beautiful setting. Dave was very communicative, accommodating, and just made everything very simple. Thanks! We plan on being back, hopefully for longer than a week, next year.

Amazing views

Excellent location on Madeline Island! Clean, eclectically decorated, plenty of common space with a great screen porch for morning coffee or evening card games. The beach is steps away like listing says with crystal clear water. Appreciated being away from town for the quiet, great place to stay! And EV friendly.

Beautiful Views & Great Family Memories

We absolutely loved our stay at this quiet, private cabin! Countless hours were spent on the spacious covered porch overlooking Lake Superior, on the soft sandy, private beach, and around the fire pit. The fast wireless internet, comfy beds, and ample seating in and around the property were much appreciated. We filled our days with kayaking the sea caves and hiking at Big Bay State Park & canoeing the lagoon at Big Bay Town Park. Beautiful views & great family memories!

Perfect - Madeline - Cabin

This south shore beach cabin is everything that you want in a lake superior Madeline Island rental. *On a walkable beach *Listen to the waves & the loons *Beautiful Views *Easy set of stairs (for carrying down our SUPs & Kayaks) *Large Screened in-Porch (no bugs) & lovely lighting *Modern decor from the moment you walk in *Fantastic fire pit & seating *And the beds are Sooooo Cozy! I loved staying here as this property has everything you need for a fantabulous girls' weekend! My family has enjoyed Madeline for generations. My grandparents bought a cabin in the 1940's and at one time had a dentist office in the back. I have been coming to the island since I was a kid and loved the memories. In the late 80's I quit my job as an accountant for Price Waterhouse and started Motion to Go, a moped rental business. I got married at Big Bay Town Park where we carried 50 home made benches to create our own wedding chapel.

The Island is a magical place. We hope this house helps create your own lasting memories.
