Brilliant as always!

Our fourth stay with Jon and his team and as usual a truly wonderful experience . Faultless service and hospitality, with absolutely wonderful food and so beautifully presented . You are made to feel very special and feel part of the Marmotte family!. We stayed in the Retreat my favourite chalet, full of rustic charm and ambiance. A wonderful hot tub in the garden where you can relax and sip a little something whilst gazing at the stars. If you want a holiday where the team go the extra mile to ensure you have a great time this is it.

Wonderful Stay in the Forest of Argentiere.

Warm Chalet in the Forest. A little few minutes from the car, and you are in a dream: Forest , snow, silence, you don’t see the village nor the people or the cars. Jon is great for anything you need. Not so luxury in the details but it’s what I need. Believe me, taste the experience.

A fantastic trip. Great food, staff and service

I think that the summary covers it well. Marmotte Mountain put on a fantastic trip as they always do. The chalet was its usual high standard and the food and wine were particularly good. However it was the team that were particularly excellent with the service they offered, as they were always able to provide restaurant tips and get us where we wanted to go in the resort and when. Given the conditions wee faced in the second half of our trip this is no small feat!

A trip of a lifetime!

Jonathan and his staff provided my family an amazing week of exquisite food that was prepared in our chalet by Daniel, our personal chef. He went above and beyond and prepared bag lunches for our ski days. Jess, our hostess had breakfast waiting for us each morning and was always available to transport us and provide information/suggestions for our recreation. Jon arranged and scheduled our ski guides, made restaurant reservations, and helped arrange an amazing holiday experience for my family. Their hospitality was superior! The chalet was very comfortable and in a beautiful location-tucked away in the woods with easy access to the village and ski trails. We were so glad to be removed from the busier towns in the valley and enjoy quaint Augentiere. My family and I will definitely travel back again.

Wonderful week in the Alps!

Our stay was wonderful! Our host and chef were top notch. The food was incredible and a highlight of our trip. Daniel accommodated our 3.5 year old daughter with her own kid-friendly delicious meals as well! We skied various mountains and went on multiple excursions, such as to the thermal baths in Italy, hot air ballooning, paragliding, etc, and our host was extremely helpful and accommodating in helping us plan our week. The chalet was very warm and cozy! We loved spending the evening by the fireplace drinking delicious wine after a fun-filled day! We would recommend this trip to everyone!

Repeat Retreat

Third time back to the Marmotte retreat. Love this place! Amazing setting and perfect alpine hideaway. Jon and his staff are always excellent and always on hand. Nothing is ever ‘too much bother!’ This year Laura and Dan looked after us perfectly: pick ups, great snow advice and truly sublime food! Would spend more time only have to go back to work. Can’t wait to see you all next year. Julian

Top food and hosting in Argentiere

This is our third year with Marmotte Mountain in Argentiere and they surpass themselves every time. The food was exceptional in the chalet and the hosts Laura and Daniel were great fun. The conditions in the valley were tough owing to high winds and lift closures but Jon ensured the that we got to ski in the best areas taking us to resorts we’d not visited and with excellent recommendations for restaurants. Everyone had a great time and we hope to be back next year.

Fairytale chalet in the woods

Utterly delightful traditional wooden chalet in secluded magical woodland setting. Perfect snow, beautiful French village huh up the Alpes with guaranteed great skiing until the end of April. At least 5 ski areas within 10 minutes drive as well as the superb Grandes Montets area in Argentiere where this chalet is situated. Excellent customer service from the Marmottes Mountain company, which is tiny and locally-run. The owner provides beautiful home-cooked meals and organises everything for you. The chalet has 4 good size double rooms with open plan traditional French chalet living space, hot tub, sauna and a woodland setting with a river running through the garden. Amazing views. I have never stayed in a chalet as magical as this.

Cant say enough good things as there are too many to mention! Will be back next year...and the year after...and teh year after :) Thanks to all the crew for making it an unforgetable holiday! xAisling

Absolutely stunning accommodations, inside and out

This was bar none the best snowboard trip Ive ever been on and I've been on plenty! Short of the unbelievable conditions and views that Chamonix has to offer, the Marmotte Mountain Adventure team absolutely waited on us hand and foot the entire week. The gourmet food was spectacular, the rustic accommodations were breath taking and again the team that catered to us for the week were unbelievably gracious and friendly. I would recommend this trip to any and everyone!

Marmotte Mountain Retreat - best kind of retreat

If only you could live like this forever. You wake up to a table laden with breakfast goodies, then you're transported to anywhere in the valley for morning of mountain fun, board or ski down to your reserved table in the best savoyard restaurants, more fun in the snow and then back to the chalet for afternoon tea (a cake straight out of the oven waiting on the table), the jacuzzi and wood-fired sauna with incredible views (an arm's length from an ample and varied supply of beverages) and then aperitifs by the fireplace before sitting down to an exquisite 4-course mean prepared by your own private chef. And whether you feel like skiing or boarding down the Aiguille du Midi, going to Italy to eat suckling pig at the base of the Mont Blanc, or you'd like your kids to learn to ski from the best instructors in France, you need only ask and it shall be done. I want to live here :)

Beautiful chalet, suberbly run company!

Last time I stayed with Marmotte mountain in the Libelulle chalet with friends, we had a fantastic time and I vowed I would be back! This time I visited with my partner and we stayed in the 'retreat' chalet. The service was the same as I remembered (exceptional!) - the owner Jon simply couldn't have done any more for us and we were treat like family. We were lucky that even though it was the beginning of April when we arrived to the chalet it was snowing and it truly felt like a winter wonderland! The heating was on, the hot tub was ready and there was plenty of wood for the fire - what more could you want!? :) The chalet is in a perfect location, a hidden gem in the woods with easy walking distance to bars and restaurants (And my personal favourite - the cremerie). There's a small stream passing by and on our second day we were lucky to watch a chamois grazing outside (a type of deer) from the bathroom window, it really does feel very close to nature out there. We had a fantastic time, would recommend it to anyone, such a beautiful chalet and a superbly run company - Thank you so much to Jon and the Marmotte team, I'm sure we'll be back next year!

Living the dream for the forth time!!

We returned to stay at Chamonix as we have stayed here 4 times in the past and all occasions we have stayed in four different chalets with Marmotte Mountain chalets. Each time has been a different experience but all equally the most amazing stays.I guess this is why we have returned 4 times. Once again the cleanliness and level of quality is amazing through out the property. We are a family of four and had the most relaxing time in the chalet. After a hard days skiing we enjoyed all the wonders of chalet sitting in the hot tub taking in all the most amazing view s and the serenity of the forest. Our Chef and host were very friendly going above and beyond for our family. The kids were treated like king and queens as were we.The food was amazing , perhaps some of the best dining we have ever experienced and wines complimented the fine food. The manager Jon was outstanding in providing us with some local advice with restaurants ( lunch options as we had dinners in the chalet) and attractions in the area that just added to the experience. It is a short drive to Chamonix village of about 10 mins and Argenteire is less than 5 mins. We had a great time skiing/ snowboarding the amazing slopes and the kids enjoyed the ski school as well.. I cant speak highly enough about this group and their chalets. I guess if you have traveled all the way from Australia 4 times in 5 years it says a lot about our experiences.Lets hope there is lots more trips in the future!!

Great location. Shabby chic chalet!

Beautiful location. Hot tub and sauna and the raging fire were wonderful. Food was fab. Furnishings and bathrooms need updating for sure. The beds were not the most comfortable and if I owned it, I would replace much of the furniture and modernise all the bathrooms. The downstairs TV/bedroom should have furniture so it can be used. The boiler room should be better kitted out for wet ski gear and have boot warmer. A dryer would be very useful too. It was kept very clean and the staff were great attending our every need, although there was possibly an unnecessary waste of food - especially at breakfast.

A cosy chalet with excellent service and fun skin

What a perfect little chalet to stumble across! Not only does it have a hot tub and a sauna but the option of skiing in/out from des grande montets was quite the perk, weaving through the woods. The service was impeccable with excellent food every night and a very helpful bunch who ran the chalet. They organised everything for us with the best suggestions on where to do, what to do, which instructors to use e.t.c. This was hands down the best ski holiday I have been on. It was perfect for a holiday with friends and what reasonable value too!

Quite literally the perfect ski holiday

Firstly the chalet is stunning. Just the right mix of traditional ambience with modern features - like the hot tub and sauna. Jon and his team couldn't have been more hospitable and took care of our every need. James our chef whipped us up daily delights that frankly I would have expected from a Michelin star restaurant. We are already planning a second visit for next year. Highly recommended.

A perfect christmas

A Chalet in the snowy mountains and a family to go in it. I think that's the perfect christmas. wonderful hosts and wonderful food. It should be on everyone's bucket list. I only wish we could do it every year, you don't even need a tv and if you forgot to bring the presents don't worry because believe me you won't notice!

Outstanding hospitality, food & service

This is our 3rd time staying with Jon and the team. Outstanding as usual but this year was totally amazing. The food quality and menus were as good as it gets. Nothing too much, kids loving their food and the addition of the sauna..... Wow.
