Very nicely presented and prepared
A well located well presented cottage excellent for 2 people but very tight for 2 couples. The beds were adequate but the closeness of the main road is annoying. Kitchen and bathroom facilities were excellent and the neighbours very friendly.

Lovely cottage
Beautiful well provisioned cottage. Hamper of goodies kindly left for us. Only downside was proximity to busy road so traffic noise was a little disturbing.

We had a great short stay at Lavender Cottage. It had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. The welcome pack was much appreciated. Gail was easy to contact and replied to queries promptly. We wouldn’t hesitate in booking again. Thank you ☺️

Perfect little cottage
Beautiful, well appointed cottage near Harewood House. This was perfectly located for us as we were visiting family near by. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. Muddy Boots Cafe is within walking distance as well as the Harewood Arms Pub. We will definitely stay again on our next visit to England to see family.

Clean, contemporary, cute cottage in lovely area of Leeds
The cottage is a comfortable and relaxing base in a lovely area of Leeds. Great location to visit Leeds & Harrogate and also the Yorkshire Dales. We enjoyed a walk around the deer park at Harewood House which is a 2 minute walk away. We also visited Brimham rocks and Skipton. I cooked each evening in the cottage easily - a couple of extra pans would be useful but ample fridge / freezer and modern appliances. The welcome pack was a lovely treat! Also a great shower and comfortable beds. A great ‘home from home’ property.

Visit to Yorkshire
The property is excellent.Very well furnished a real "home from home". There is everything you could possibly want and very convenient. There is a small cafe through the day and the pub the Harewood Arms was very welcoming and good food. The bus service to Harrogate and Leeds is brilliant and very reliable. The buses are all very new and seem to run every 20 minutes through the day.The cottage has lots of walks and places to visit and is very convenient for visiting the dales or the Harrogate area.Would definitely recommend and hope to stay again in the future.

Lovely cottage
Lovely historic cottage and very comfortable. Just one caveat - it's on a busy road, so if you're a light sleeper, you'll need to have the window closed at night.

Well Presented Character Cottage
We had a great 5 day break at the end of August. The cottage is charming with lots of period features. The front of the cottage gives lovely views of the countryside including the local red kite population. We went on the local walk round the estate and ate at the Muddy Boots Cafe and Harewood Arms (traditional pub food and Sam Smiths ales) both of which were fine. Powerful shower. Welcome pack is a nice touch (bread rolls, eggs, milk, biscuits, tea, coffee, prosecco). The road is noisy as other reviews have said, but it didn't bother us.

Lovely little haven
Super sweet little cottage with parking in a beautiful location. Rather romantic for two with a very large bath and an immense fireplace with Woodburner. Within half an hours drive of Harrogate, Knaresborough, Leeds, Otley, Wetherby, Boston Spa. Yes the road running past is busy so I packed earphones and an eye mask and slept better than I do at home!

Ideal cottage with stunning views
No hassle booking or checking into this delightful cottage. High standard of cleanliness throughout and tasteful furnishings made this a very restful place to stay. Good size bathroom with power shower and plenty of hot water. The heating was on a timer so comfortable for chilly starts and evenings. Log burner if desired Stunning views from the front windows over the valley. Pretty back entrance and parking area, very secure with plenty of security lighting at night. Kept our bikes in locked storage area. Used the bus each day down to Harrogate very regular service. Same distance the other way to Leeds. Harewood Arms opposite very good , friendly staff, well decorated and warming coal fired. Food above average. Stayed in the cottage for 9 nights, felt like home. Highly recommended

Close to Leeds and Harrogate
Very clean and done to a high standard. There were no issues. The fireplace was the highlight. Barbeque facilities were too public and overlooked for our liking, so did not use it. Online description of the property, neighborhood and facilities could have been a little bit more descriptive to give a more clearer picture of what was on offer. Adjoining properties were quiet and the neighbor was very friendly

Lovely cottage, great location, comfy beds, lovely weekend
The cottage is very welcoming. The provision of milk, bread, biscuits and Prosecco was most welcome, as was the honesty wine rack. The location was perfect for our family visit, easy access to Harrogate, Leeds, ilkley and the closer environs of armscliffe crag for a quick walk/climb/scramble, and otley chevin. The beds were very comfy, the shower was hot and powerful and the Woodburner was lovely. We would definitely stay here again for all the above reasons, we were very happy with everything. I would add a few basic kitchen utensils such as a potato peeler, cheese grater, decent measuring jug, another pan or two and some cooking dishes - we ate in with our kids and this was our only minor complaint but we made do and had a lovely time.

Why they chose this property

This house is available for the first time as a private dwelling being formerly part of the famous Harewood Estate, owned by the Earl and Countess Lascelles of Harewood , the Queen's cousin. It was built in 1750 designed by John Carr for the workers on the Harewood Estate. It is a very quaint cottage surrounded by similar properties and has enviable views across the Wharfe Valley at the front.
