About the host
Hosted by Rupert Foster

I am Guyanese by birth and grew up in CampbelVille, which was at that time a village situated on the East Coast Demerara within walking distance of the Atlantic Ocean. I obtained a B.Soc.Sc degree in Public Administration and a Certificate in Industrial Relations from the University of Guyana and worked in both the Public and Private Sectors in Guyana. I studied for the ACCA qualification in Accounting in England and worked in the UK and USA in the accounting field. On my return to Guyana I ended my career in the Govt service after working as a Finance Manager/Controller in several govt organisations, and as General Manager of the Guyana Gold Board. In private practice I was an Auditor and part-time Tax Consultant.
Why they chose this property
The Bungalow was designed and constructed by friends and was intended to be our home. My wife, Joan, and I had determined to move into smaller accommodations but after furnishing the building we decided against the move. Hence we began to search for business opportunities and hit on Holiday Rentals. The site in total is 1/2 an acre and has 2 buildings thereon. Acquisition was done at the bidding of the first Executive President of Guyana when I was working in one of his Ministries as an Administrative Assistant. I have no regrets. I simply love the peace and quiet and waking up to the chirping of birds in the trees that surround my home.
What makes this property unique
I mentioned before that The Bungalow was designed and constructed by my friends who wanted to pay tribute to our friendship. They requested a free hand and I was instructed to sit back and await the completion of their project. I was well pleased since it suited the purpose for which Joan and I had originally intended. I am now happy to share my delight with my guests.
