The area is ideal for coastal walks from the door, wild swimming, sea wildlife trips and sea fishing are availble from the marina a 10 minute walk. The surrounding countryside provides an abundance of outdoor activities including hill walking, horse riding at Lunga stables, (10 minute walk) and mountain biking.
Oban, around 22 miles north, offers a more extensive range of services including shopping, swimming pool and cinema. There is a ferry terminal with daily boat services to a range of islands including Mull and the Outer Hebrides and a mainline railway station with connections to Glasgow. Lochgilphead is about 17 miles south and there is a regular bus service between the two towns. Inverary Castle and Jail is well worth a visit within an hours drive.
Arduaine Gardens (a National Trust garden), about 3 miles to the north of Craobh Haven, is famous in the district, originally conceived by J. Arthur Campbell who also built the adjoining award winning Loch Melfort Hotel with excellent restaurant.
The waters off the west coast of Scotland are famed for sailing and stunning scenery. The sheltered marina at Craobh Haven is well known among the sailing community and has always drawn yachts and boating craft to its pretty and safe anchorage. Boat trips to the famous Corryvreckan whirpools and sea eagle / wildlife trips are availble from the marina.
The surrounding countryside and sea is excellent for walking, horse riding at Lunga stables 10 mins walk from the house and mountain biking. There are also many opportunities for wild water swimming and fishing a stones throw from the house.
