About this property

Cosy cottage in the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park

Ramblers Rest is perfect for a break in the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park. Grade II listed, this self catering cottage nestles in the oldest street in Crickhowell, and is only 2 minutes walk from the River Usk, famous for its excellent fishing and wildlife.

The cottage is centrally heated and offers well appointed accommodation, but retains the charm and peaceful atmosphere of its mid-1800s origin.

Whether you are walkers, anglers, outdoor pursuits enthusiasts, nature lovers, or just want to enjoy a retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life, Ramblers Rest is the ideal starting point.

The cottage sleeps up to four people, with one double and one twin-bedded room (with 3ft beds). The sitting room has comfortable seating for four, and includes a television and DVD player, plus radio/CD.

There is a fully equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave oven, washing machine, dining table and chairs. Walk-in pantry with fridge/freezer and plenty of storage space.

Bathroom on the ground floor, with wash-basin, WC, bath with shower over.

We have provided a good selection of maps and local guide books for visitors to use, plus quite a few board games for those rainy days!

Lovely cottage
This is a lovely cottage, and very well equipped with everything we needed for our stay over Easter weekend. We had long, busy days out and the cottage was the perfect place to relax at the end of the day. We were lucky with the weather, so we could enjoy the secluded garden too. Thanks Christina, I would love to stay here again sometime.

We have lived in Crickhowell for just about 25 years now, and felt right at home immediately. Everyone is very friendly, the area is quite beautiful, and the local shop-keepers are amazingly helpful.
We wanted to be able to share our experiences with visitors, and felt extremely lucky to have the opportunity to purchase Ramblers Rest Cottage, for others to enjoy.
We still live nearby and we look after the whole property ourselves.

Why they chose this property

This property is very centrally located, and you can just walk from the door, along the River Usk, or up into the great local High Street. You don't have to use your car at all, if you want to stop driving for a few days.........................

What makes this property unique

Traditional cottage, with lovely secluded garden where you can sit and listen to the birds singing, whilst enjoying your coffee/tea/beer etc in peace.
