Wild & Free has everything you're looking for in your escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Nestled in the woods with scenic views and relaxing comfort, this rustic beauty is the ideal place for families or friends to connect in comfort. 2 King suites each have their own bathroom with walk-in showers. Wrap around deck and a hot jacuzzi. Everything you need is here. Deer visit every morning. On 3 beautiful acres, it's secluded but minutes from everything.
Hot tub: Wild & Free is a unique property in Broken Bow and one of our favorite parts is that the cabin is on fresh, mineral-rich well water. We wanted to give you a heads up that the high mineral content in the well water stains the hot tub. The hot tub is totally clean. The minerals in the well water are actually very therapeutic. After each guest, we drain the water, disinfect the hot tub and refill it. So you’ll notice the mineral staining, but it’s super clean.

It was a beautiful cabin, trees everywhere the perfect place to stay and relax. We had such a wonderful time. We will be back Thank you for letting us enjoy this beautiful home. The younger kids loved the upstairs and we all enjoyed the hot tub
We thoroughly loved the location and the house was great. We had 6 adults and 4 children, 12 and under. There was plenty of room for the kids to play as well as room for all the adults. Thoroughly enjoyed the close proximity to the lake and river. We all had a wonderful experience and would love to book this house again.
We revently booked a stay in this cabin for a cousin's getaway. The outside of the property was nice, the size of it was good for us to enjoy a day outside. There was not plently of chairs for everyone to sit, it was not a big deal for us. The inside of the cabin was decent, we noticed rught away that the fridge was not cooling right away, there was water coming up from the wooden floors starting by the fridge and into the living room area. The it was sort of clean, you could still see dust in the ceiling fans (living room/downstairs bedroom). I swept one day and there was a lot of trash underneath the couch. Overall I would give it a 3 out of 5 for everything.
Little disappointing finding out that there was only one bedroom downstairs and the upper bedrooms were not cooling correctly due to dirty air filters and restricted air return but was corrected in a timely matter by the host sending out a hvac repair man, and a issue with the hot tub which we weren't able to use. Overall we had a great time with family and enjoyed the cabin
Inside was very pretty but the outside can use some updates, such as sitting area for the porch.

Not happy
The cabin is cozy but the host is difficult to work with and doesn’t really care about his guest comfort. We arrived Thursday and contacted the host about the upstairs air not cooling. The temp was 81 upstairs. The host sent very short comments and didn’t seem concerned. The air was not repaired until Saturday evening around 10:30. We had two hot nights of sleeping upstairs with no air. When we asked if he would make any adjustment for the fact 6 guest slept without air for two days he offered a very very small credit towards our stay. I didn’t even reply to that insulting offer. I guess he doesn’t care that we all traveled 3 hours to stay and sleep in a cabin with no air. He also offered a 20% discount if we ever want to return for another stay. We declined the offer. It was just disappointing to know that as a host he didn’t do more to help during our stay, he seemed very unconcerned about us and the hot temperature. Not to mention he said the hot tub was clean but in all the stays at Broken Bow I have NEVER seen a hot tub so stained. He said it was well water stains. The outside of the cabin could stand some TLC the wooden railing is falling down and looks dangerous for small children. There is also a broken chair in the yard. It just wasn’t as nice as it appeared in the pictures and for the money we paid!

Wild and Free
Sorry, but we were not pleased with cleanliness of outside the cabin and the temperature on the second floor (we had 82 F on the night); several of us slept on the couch because of that.
The cabin is Beautifull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We loved our stay at the cabin. Gave our family plenty of room to spend together but also to spread out and get alone time. On a nice gravel drive set off to the side in a quiet, lovely neighborhood. We would love to stay again.
We needed a weekend getaway for our family and the cabin was just what we were looking for. Very roomy and comfortable. The hot tub was not as clean as I would of like but still enjoyable on a cool night. We used the firepit every night.
Secluded cabin for a quiet stay that is comfortable.
The home is very nice. Apparently the cleaning person had an emergency and failed to complete the final touches of cleaning. I messaged the owner so he would know and in no time the cleaning company sent another person to finish the job. The place was spotless in no time. We didn't realize only bedroom was downstairs as we booked this house after another one canceled. It is perfect if you only need one bedroom downstairs. We had two couples with health issues so one had to sleep on the over sized couch/sectional and the other had the downstairs master. Amazingly everyone slept fine because the couch is huge!
We spent the whole time relaxing, and grilling out. So spacious, anything you needed in the kitchen. Had a special friend (Red Robin bird) come visit me every morning on my room window. The whole family enjoyed. We all needed this. We had a wonderful time. Would definitely go back with the rest of family who couldn't attend this time.
We loved our stay at Wild and Free! It was a beautiful house with a gorgeous view of the trees and mountains. The house was the perfect size for our group of 10, and there were plenty of toys and things to entertain the 4 kids. The house was fully stocked and everything we could want in a rental! We hope to be back again!!
We chose this property because it looked like a quiet spot nestled in the woods away from city life. This cabin did not disappoint. There were plenty of amenities for cooking, an awesome wrap around porch, towels for bathing, lots of pillows and soft blankets, a hot tub on the porch that’s covered, and a small fire pit out front. We rested so much here and that’s exactly what we needed. Our family of 6 kids and 2 adults fit perfectly with so much room to spare. I appreciated the quick responses from the host and eagerness to attend to us if needed. Wildlife comes to visit on the porch too. Great family get away!
Family of nurses here couldn't have enjoyed this more. The views are amazing, the hikes are great, saw deer, went horse back riding, rode the train, had a campfire. Highly recommend it all including the Friends Trail for a hike. Views at the top are spectacular.

It’s Complicated
We arrived at the house and the porch was covered in pine needles, obviously not swept by house keeping. Once inside the house looked great although there were no wine glasses, ice machine in fridge did not work, one bed was not made up, sheets were on the dresser. One closet floor was covered in pieces of a Christmas tree, another closet was full of misc items, there was no soap or shampoo, several places in kitchen felt very sticky. But we could have lived with all that and enjoyed our stay. However, at 9 pm the electricity and water went off. No lights, heat, toilets, etc. we ended our evening and went to bed, aggravated but thinking it would be on when we got up the next morning. . Got up the next morning after a frigid night, still no electricity or water. Contacted owner early, I think it was 6 am. By 8:30 am we hadn’t heard anything and other cabins in sight had lights. We packed up and left. Owner contacted us later in the morning, informed us electric company had outage, and stated he would provide refund and he did. We appreciate it, but won’t be returning for reasons listed here.
Cabin is very nice, owner does need to install blinds or curtains in bedroom windows.
Nice and secluded, but needs to address a couple of issues. Trash drawer is breaking apart, chairs around fire were broken and both rockers on the porch coming apart. Very nice place and would definitely stay again I would like if these items were addressed before next stay.
This cabin offered a lot of space to spread out as well as areas to be close with the family. Close to all the fun things the state park has to offer and a quiet retreat to come back to. Well equipped kitchen, nice comfy beds, as well as plenty of spacious bathrooms. Spent most of our time front porch sitting and enjoying the deer and other wildlife. Will stay again! Will also recommend this cabin to my friends who travel that direction!

Pros and Cons
PROS: cozy cabin, cute decor, wIldlife (we saw deer, raccoon and opossum family) could be viewed from porch and fire pit area. House is spacious but furniture in living area challenging for walking thru and it’s the main entrance. Bedding, bath towels, washer and dryer availability and I can’t recall a dish we needed that wasn’t present except a salad spinner. Host was pleasant and responded within a reasonable time and allowed our last minute unexpected dog to join. CONS: Learning the dishwasher was out on the day of arrival was a surprise but it seemed it would be repaired/replaced mid-week and unfortunately that didn’t happen. Vacationing doing dishes by hand with no dish drainer, few hand towels were cumbersome and time consuming which took away from vacation fun. No extended discount extended. Spiders everywhere and dead bugs too.. at least they were dead but scattered throughout the rooms so the floors weren’t swept upon our arrival.
Living room furniture is overcrowded and one hits the cabinet or sofa table - be prepared for bruises since it cannot be moved.
Very clean. Kitchen well stocked. Beds comfortable. Plenty of room for our group. Would definitely stay there again.

We’re a family of 8, with 6 kids. (2 sets of twins in a row) And yes, my wife is incredible. Haha. We’re from the foothills of Colorado.
We love TX but miss the mountains and everything Colorado has to offer. Our cabin in Broken Bow is our piece of CO where we can leave DFW and be there in a few hours. We love the ability we have to escape from the hustle and bustle and be at the cabin. We absolutely love Broken Bow. The trees, the air, the lake, the river ... it’s our little heaven on earth.
Life happens so fast. Before we know it, the kids will he grown and gone. Life is about slowing down and living in the moment. We hope you love the cabin as much as we do and are able to slow down, live in the moment, and create memories that will be with you forever.
