McDaniels Misty Blue ~ A Cozy & Quaint Cabin w/Exceptional Smoky Mountain Views

Looking for a special place in the Smoky Mountains to relax and unwind? McDaniels Misty Blue is that place ! Located in the heart of Townsend and minutes from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Our spacious parking area will easily accommodate 4 cars comfortably. Enter the front door of the cabin and walk into our open concept living room, dining room and kitchen areas. A short walk down the hall and you will find our master bedroom with a super comfy King size bed and a sliding door that opens to the deck and our brand-new hot tub! Next door to the master bedroom is the main level bathroom with a jetted tub and shower option available.

Want to bring along friends? No problem! We have a second bedroom downstairs with its own private entrance. The downstairs bedroom cannot be accessed within the main level of the cabin, you must go outside and down the back stairs or walk around the side of the cabin to enter. (This would NOT be a good choice for small children). The downstairs bedroom offers a King size bed and a full-size futon. Included is a private bathroom with a tub/shower combo. We also offer a tv with cable offerings.

Our fully equipped kitchen comes with all the accessories you will need to prepare meals and we do have a gas grill on the back deck as well. We have puzzles and cards if you elect to stay in with a cozy fire. If there is something extra that we can do to make your stay more magical, please don't hesitate to reach out and let us know as we want you to love McDaniel's Misty Blue and come back year after year.

Bears, bears, and more bears, and a beautiful clean cabin

Was a beautful cabin with a beautiful view with tons of wildlife to see. Bears, more bears, more bears, two non venimous snakes, turkeys, and more. The owner of the cabin was nearby for any needs that came up and took care of them immediately. If I could find anything to legitemately call for with a concern about, it was fixed immediately. I cannot say enough about how awesome they were here. Had to swap some pillows between rooms to get the right feel between us, but we figured that out after the first night. They were all harder in one room and soft in another. Our friends liked hard and we liked soft and we found out after night 1 we had what the others wanted, so if you get in that situation just check the other room. Thank you for the wonderful cabin to stay in for the week. BTW if visiting the cabin. do not listen to WAZE and take the directions it gives to go up the dirt road. Pass it and go up Laurel Valley I believe it is. Laurel something. . I learned after not one but two times :) Also leaving the complex do not listen to waze your first time, but follow the signs to the exit. Waze will take you to a dead end gate. Hope this helps and do not hesitate renting this cabin. It is amazing.

Peace and quite in the Smokies

A stunning always changing. Very peaceful and tranquil. Two lovely places to sit outside one on the full sun and one in the shade and if it’s too cold inside. Rather a steep drive to get to the property but we got used it to after a couple of goes

Misty Blue

We had a wonderful time at McDaniel's Misty Blue. OMGosh, the pictures of the views really don't do it justice. It is about as close to heaven as a person could be. We love the Smoky Mountains and have stayed in North Carolina too. I was a little concerned about visiting bears from the previous couple, but we didn't actually have any. The cabin was super cozy, and the bed very comfortable. The only issue I had was that the bathroom is very dim. I had to go from the bathroom to bedroom to get ready. We would definitely go back, and have already told our friends about it!

Amazing view

The view was amazing. We enjoyed our stay here. We like the quieter side of the Smokey mountains and this place gave us just that. We spent time just sitting on the deck and enjoying the weather and view. The kitchen was stocked with cookware to enjoy meals at the cabin. The only complaints we have is the lighting in the bathroom is very dim and lack of a sharp kitchen knife. Other than that it was perfect. Would recommend this cabin. We would definitely stay here again .

Beautiful view

Beautiful view, we love Townsend because its very quiet and not very busy. The river is just a short drive away. Cabin has lots of room and and you can count on a visit from rabbits, birds,squirrels and yes 🐻. Drive up to cabin is up and up,but easy to get to. We have stayed 4 times and loved every time. We had a bit of a problem with door lock this time, but called Jo and she got us in. We will be back .

Lovin the quiet side

We picked this spot because our first trip to the Smokey’s was on the Pigeon Forge side which has more crowds. The Townsend side has plenty to offer but way more enjoyable and quiet. Faster access to Cades and Foothills Pkwy. The cabin was as described in the reviews and we enjoyed our stay. Views from the deck and family room were spectacular. Plenty of recliners to kick back and relax. Gas grill was nice. If you stay here more than a few nights bring extra TP and dishwasher pellets since you only get 2 rolls and 2 pellets. Also bring ice - the filtered water tap off to side of sink tasted good but ice had an off taste. If you are a foodie definitely make reservations at the Dancing Bear Bistro - amazing. Explored the local caverns. Drove the Tail of the Dragon- saw Fontana dam. Finally got to see the view Clingmans Dome after many failed attempts. A wonderful experience.

Fantastic view on the Peaceful Side of the Smokies

My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon in the Smokies and the Misty Blue cabin was the icing on the wedding cake. The cabin had everything we needed for a quiet, relaxing vacation. The location was easy to get to, the neighborhood was exceptionally quiet (with bear sightings!), and the views from the deck and living room are incredible. The cabin was clean, the main bed comfy, and the kitchen was equipped enough to do a bit of cooking while we were there. Fabulous place to stay and we will definitely return.

Misty Blue was so cozy, simply wonderfull. Words can't describe the view. It provided all we needed. Jo was right there when we needed her. The only bad thing was having to leave. We will be back.

Great Experience and Great Place to Stay

Wonderful area to stay in. Spent most of our time in the Smoky Mountains Park, but also spent some time in Townsend. It has a great small railroad museum, hiking trails and wine tasting. Very nice cabin and very clean. Would be happy to spend time here again, if back in the area.

Misty Blue

This was our first family vacation to the mountains, and my moms very first time ever going. We absolutely loved the cabin. It was very clean, and beautiful. The view from the back deck is amazing. You get a clear view of the mountains. It was close to the foot hills and Cades cove. I strongly recommend anyone to pick this cabin for your stay. You won’t be disappointed I promise!! We look forward to coming back in the future.

Amazing Retreat

This property was exactly as advertised, but the views cannot be captured in a photo. It was hands down the most relaxing vacation we have ever had. Jo was amazing to work with and super responsive to any questions. This place must be on everyone's need to stay list. We will absolutely be back!

We have been here 4 times now. Jo updates furnishings, decorates for the season and the views are outstanding. You can just spend the day in the cabin, it's that terrific.

Great views

We stayed for our daughter’s wedding in Gatlinburg. The place is very clean and beautiful with plenty of room. The separate downstairs was great for our son. The view of the mountain is awesome. We loved the location not to far from downtown Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge but away from all the traffic. The host Jo answered my text with a question real quick. We will be visiting again. Thank you Jo for a great place to stay.

Absolutely beautiful

The pictures on the listing is exactly what you get. The view from the cabin is beautiful. The cabin is big and open. Close to everything we were planning to do and visit. Instructions were received on how to access the property before we were due to arrive and was so simple. Cabin was clean. Hot tub was amazing. My husband and I want to try and stay again next year.

Quiet get away

We loved our stay at McDaniels Misty Blue cabin home. After 4 great days in Nashville at the CMA FEST, this location was a welcome retreat close to everything in the Smoky Mountains National Park. The mountain views from the upper deck with hot tub were wonderful. Parking was convenient and the separation between us and neighboring cabins was plenty for lots of privacy. With a King bed and full bath on each level, it was set up perfectly for 2 couples. The cabin was clean and spacious and central AC was nice to have on the hot days. Loved sleeping at night - you could hear a pin drop. We also saw some wildlife while there. It was close to town for dinner or groceries and instructions from the property manager for getting through the gate after hours were clear. The home was equipped with all appliances and everything you'd have at your own home. We would definitely return.
