About this property

Amazing secluded beach

Our house is a 3 minutes walk from a cozy, secluded beach, perfect for swimming, snorkeling and fishing. 10 minutes trail walk to Marbella beach which is great for running, surfing and playing! Walking distance to 2 restaurants/ bar at the beach. Tiki Hut in Marbella and La Joya de Lagarto in Lagarto. We are located in a gated ocean-front community with lots of wild life! We recently upgraded our internet to 5G optic fiber service. Spacious, clean, bright, very comfortable home with lots of ventilation. The second floor is all made of teak wood. The bedrooms have big wooden balconies in the front and back of the house in the treetops, perfect for stargazing or to lay on a hammock. Each bedroom has it's own AC unit for the extreme hot days. Our backyard has a huge Guanacaste tree. It’s part of the local monkeys highway so there is lots to see in it! There is also a 3rd floor look-out with ocean and sunset views. Let’s not forget our outside shower which is great to come to after a day at the beach! Great for all kinds of nature lovers. From ocean adventurers to families with children. The perfect vacation or working remotely retreat away from the crowds.

perfect house and location away from it all

Our whole group (5 adults and one 11 year old) loved this house and the beach nearby! We had no complaints. The house was comfortable and beautiful with multiple decks/outside areas. We had everything we needed- they even supplied a bin of snorkeling gear which was a nice surprise. We saw (and heard!) howler monkeys multiple days right from the house, saw beautiful birds and so many bright stars from the roof deck, and loved walking to the beach just a few minutes down the dirt road. It is far from town, which worked very well for us as we loved having the beach to ourselves most of the time. We enjoyed watching the changes to the beach between low and high tide, and saw many cool animals in the tidepools at low tide. We loved it here!

Marabella hideaway

Amazing spot to stay, quite private and lots of outdoor space for everyone--balconies everywhere! The access road is quite rough, so don't plan many trips out--stock up before you arrive! The beaches were fabulous and deserted. And the walk to the Tiki Hut was very well rewarded!

Great family stay down the beaten path.

The house was beautiful and well equipped. The beach was good for kids with a combination of coarse sand and rock pools to play in. Visits from some monkeys was a highlight. You should come prepared with groceries and high clearance vehicle...4wd recommesnded if you plan to travel south towards Nosara where there is an excellent grocery.

Lovely unique Costa Rican visit

Lovely house with amazing outdoor spaces for all. Easy walk to beach. Definitely need a 4x4 vehicle. Wild life encounters without leaving the property: monkeys, land crabs, scorpions, birds. So many precious memories made. We will hold this vacation in our hearts forever. Gracias

Amazing Two Days

We spent over 2 weeks in Costa Rica, this was the most interesting and memorable 2 days. This place is off the beaten track and takes some effort to get to (and very rough roads for the last bit, may be tough in roads were wet), however, the host was excellent with instructions and we found it first try. Worth the effort, we saw many critters and loved the feel of being away from it all compared to other places. The beach is across and down the road but very close and both times we went we were the only ones there. About a 15min walk to a larger beach with the Tiki Hut. The house is very unique, we all loved how it was put together, along with the roof top view, one of a kind! Highly recommended!

Quiet beach getaway

Santiago was excellent with communication and graciously allowed us to change our booking dates last minute. After we got to the house, we loved it so much that we extended our stay another night. The house description was spot on and we did have a whole troop of howler monkeys traverse through the backyard one morning. The beach is a short 3 minute walk and we only saw a few people over the course of several days. The Tiki Hut restaurant is a 20 minute walk to a neighboring beach and great to food and drinks when needed. We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet and the beach was incredible. Highly recommend this Vrbo if you are looking for something comfortable and off the beaten path.

Great proximity to nature and beaches

Our family stayed here for a week (2 adults and 2 kids ages 5 and 8). The place was as stated and earlier reviews were accurate. If you are looking for an amazing experience, surrounded by nature in Costa Rica and away from the major tourist traps, this is the spot. Monkeys, lizards and birds were a constant in the backyard and made for great entertainment for all of us during outdoor meals. Beaches are easily accessed via trails from the house. We spent the vast amount of our time at Marbella Beach which was also the best one for swimming during bigger swells. The Tiki Hut at Marbella Beach is also a must do for lunch or dinner. Super fun and great vibe on the beach (Tiki Hut rents a few surf boards as well). Definitely be sure to buy groceries at major centers prior to getting to the house as it isn't near any major grocery stores. We bought groceries at the Walmart in Liberia when we landed in Costa Rica and stocked up again during a trip to Tamarindo later in the week. This worked well. Santiago was great to deal with and was extremely responsive. Johanna also made up and delivered some amazing ceviche that added to our experience. This was our first trip to Costa Rica but will definitely not be our last. Truly an amazing place. Many thanks Santiago and Pura Vida!

Nice property and very fast communication.

Property was as described. The road in is a bit rough-I would not recommend a car-bring crossover or SUV. Communication was very good and very fast. We went to the Tiki hut bar and grill on the last night and we should have done that sooner! There isn’t an a/c but they do provide a fan for each room and there are ceiling fans. Open the house up at night keep the blinds closed during the day. Exploring the beach-there’s lots of it. If you get there at high tide, the rocks are hidden. I’d wait to see it at low tide and chose you swimming spot-the best place was right when you arrive off the path.

Lovely beach

Pros- House is acceptable. Beds comfortable. Kitchen well supplied with basic tools/pans/etc. The house has steep stairs and the second floor is “indoor/outdoor”. The flora and fauna are fantastic at this house. The beach is close and delightful. Cons- Would have liked to have shampoo, soap in the showers and lounge chairs on the main floor patio. We had a family of at least 5 young children next door- we could hear everything as the houses are next to each other on the property line. Earplugs?

Why they chose this property

Our property is very special, not only because is in Costa Rica, or because is in Guanacaste (one of the blue zones in the world). It's perfectly located for any ocean lover, With different options of beaches and water activities, all within a 10 mins walking radius. It's built in a private, rural, peaceful, slow-pace community, right in front of the water. You really get away from the touristy crowds. The wild life is very pristine and is all around you! We recently upgraded our internet to 5G optic fiber service, so it is also perfect for guests that have to work during their stay.
