We had a wonderful time staying at this lake house. It was clean and exactly what we needed for our family, and the view was amazing! Our kids loved the shallow area to play in the lake and caught lots of fish off the dock. We had some camp fires and used one of the kayaks too. We also loved the screened in porch and deck to hang out on. We will definitely be back!
Great place to relax and enjoy the lake. Close to everything, boating, fishing, shopping an golfing. Elaine our host was exceptional catering to our needs. Would highly recommend this property. Dennis
Pictures of lake don't do justice. Lake is very beautiful. Property has lots a water/ kids games. Great for families! House was clean and had everything you need to be comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked also. Definitely worth the price.
This house was everything we could have hoped for on our trip to Michigan. It was clean, had plenty of space for the 5 of us, and is close to Sleeping Bear Dunes. The house is on a finger of the lake so there isn’t much boat traffic. We enjoyed kayaking the lake and the channel nearby and the kids had a lot of fun fishing off the dock. There’s a grocery store 10 minutes away and nearby breweries. The pictures on the listing don’t do it justice.

Log Cabin Review
The check in, communication with the owner and location were good. The yard was nice, the house itself was nice and we appreciated the outdoor table and seating areas. We were disappointed with several things about the cottage. The dock broke while several of my family members were on it and the neighbor helped to repair it. There were fruit flies in the kitchen, the toilet in the hallway backed up and needed plunging, we reversed the fans and clumps of dust came flying off, the garbage disposal didn’t work, the dehumidifier leaked and we had to turn it off. Furniture was dusty, screen doors were off the track, the refrigerator hadn’t been wiped down, the bedroom with the bathroom smelled musty, upright vacuum was clogged, and the outdoor grill ran out of gas.
This was an ideal property in and ideal location for my parents (70s) and my kids (6 year old twins) and my husband and me. We swam, boated, kayaked, napped, fished and my husband and I took some long jogs to the local hiking trails. We drove to Frankfort several times and enjoyed the public beaches and Lake Michigan. We are home bodies though- so we did the lions share of our cottaging right from the property. My kids loved jumping off the dock and swimming around.
I can’t say nice enough things about the property owner. Elaine is a gem, so kind, helpful and understanding.
Perfect trip, thank you!

Not What I expected
I reserved the property with the expectations of the home being in good operating condition. Once I had given my final payment, I was informed that there had been a fire, and that the microwave and the counter had been damaged. The owner told me that this accident happened two and a half months prior to my booking. By the time I was made aware of this, it was to late for me to find another property in the area. I had my son coming in from Florida, so therefore I was not in the position to cancel the rental. Once we arrived I discovered that the sliding door did not work properly, when it came crashing down on me. That evening we went to use the barbecue grill, only to find the old used tinfoil still on the grill, it was disgusting. The grill had not been cleaned for who knows how long. It was filthy. Too top off the shoddy condition of the property, the deck collapsed when my children were walking on it. Two of my kids fell into the water, and my son's phone was submerged in water. Needless to say the phone was ruined. I contacted the owner, and told her what had happened. She told me that she would have her sons come out and fix the dock. They never did fix the dock, and so we rented this home on the lake without the use of a dock.
I cannot in good conciseness, refer anyone to rent this property. I feel like I was ripped off because the owner knew of the fire damage, and she should have disclosed this on her ad. There is no mention of fire damage.
I spent 2 weeks in Frankfort at my grandparent's every summer growing up. This trip was my first time back in 15 years, and my husband and kids first time in Northern Michigan. It was perfect. We all had a great time. Ms. Elaine was a fantastic host, with great communication. The property was everything we hoped it would be. There is a large flat grassy yard with a fun swing. The lake has a large shallow area that allowed my 5 year old and 1.5 year old to be able to splash around. Our whole family enjoyed using the kayaks. The house was extremely clean and cozy, with the bonus of kids games and DVD's! It was everything I wanted for my family to experience "Up North." Thank you, Ms. Elaine!
Pictures of the property were spot on. Our sister vacation was (in a word) WONDERFUL !!!! We had everything we needed. Everything work just fine. Beautiful setting from sunrise to sunset. Peaceful, relaxing and quaint.
We had the most wonderful time. We have been enjoying this lake for over 25 years. This was our 1st stay at this house and hope to return. No TV but we survived 10 days 😀Taking bass home for a fish fry with family. Weather was super and only one day of rain. No complaints at all.
This home is absolutely beautiful! The homeowner is the nicest and coolest person ever. She was so Inviting and accommodating to me and my wife. She allowed us to ha e our dream wedding lake side. It was an absolutely amazing experience. Everything about the house a d property was top notch! Elaine is such a great person! We will definitely be back!! A million stars!!!
