The ground floor of Porthvean is designed as an open space, with an additional smaller living area both offer stunning views of the sea. Finished in high-quality oak and slate flooring, underfloor heating, and a Morso wood burning stove for added cosiness. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern amenities like a dishwasher, large fridge freezer, and an additional wine fridge. For added convenience, there is a utility room with a washing machine and a separate tumble dryer. There is also a downstairs shower room with walk in shower, sink and loo.

Upstairs at Porthvean you will find four bedrooms. The three double bedrooms with luxurious king-size Hypnos beds, ensuring a comfortable and restful sleep. What truly sets these bedrooms apart is their spectacular sea views, which offer a breathtaking backdrop to wake up to each morning. Additionally, there is a fourth bedroom furnished with two single beds, perfect for accommodating larger groups or families. The crown jewel is undoubtedly the master bedroom, complete with an ensuite bathroom featuring a bath and a separate walk-in shower. Alongside the master suite, a family bathroom with both a bath and a shower is available, along with a modern downstairs shower room complete with a basin and toilet. All the bathrooms are equipped with underfloor heating and heated towel rails, ensuring that guests are comfortable and warmth. The upstairs area is carpeted, for a cosy and inviting atmosphere throughout.

The house sits on a mini-peninsular which gives it, with its four bay windows, a 200 degree sea view, from the sheltered sandy beach out to the distant horizon and around to the craggy Chynhalls Point.

The garden and patio are south facing with a sheltered sunny courtyard for breezy days. There is an hot and cold outside shower for washing off sandy toes after trip to the beach. Unusually for the centre of the village there is private off-road parking, for two medium size cars. Super fast fibre optic broad band.

Coverack is a picturesque Cornish fishing village. Nestling around the granite built harbour are a pub and a restaurant both providing good food. There is a local village shop which is open seven days a week. Next door there is a coffee shop, which serves wonderful coffee, pastries and ice creams. Running along the side of the house is a path which leads to the beach. Opposite the house there is a park with swings and a slide for children.

Ensuring a Comfortable Environment for All Guests
Pets have always held a special place in our lives. Both David and I, having been brought up with dogs and cats, understand the joy and companionship they bring to family life. However, we also recognise that not everyone shares the same appreciation for pets, and some individuals suffer from allergies.
In order to maintain a comfortable and allergen-free environment for all our guests, we have made the decision to establish a no pets policy at Porthvean. We understand that it may seem disappointing for those who would have loved to bring their furry companions along, but we believe that this choice is necessary to ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and comfort for all visitors.
Removing traces of pets from one stay to the next poses a significant challenge. Despite our best efforts, it is difficult to completely eliminate allergens and pet hair, potentially causing discomfort for those with sensitivities.

Outstanding Coverack property
This property is undoubtedly the best that we have had the pleasure to experience. Every aspect was first class from booking in, communication with the owner, presentation, location and content. The owners have excelled to ensure that this property exceeds expectations, down to the finest detail . We stayed for a week - two couples and our daughter - and everyone felt totally relaxed in the surroundings of this superb home. I hope that the opportunity arises for us to return from Australia and once again be part of the wonderful culture offered by the people and beauty of Coverack. The locals also stopped for a chat and made us feel very welcome. Our sincere thanks to Sarah for allowing us to be part of this outstanding location.

Did not disappoint
What a lovely place to stay, with everything as described, and more. So many things available for us to use as all those little extras. The views are fantastic and my early cuppa every morning was spent in the garden on the bench, listening to the sea and the birds. The place is very warm and very clean. It was perfect for me as no pets were allowed and suffering from allergies I did not have to be worried by that. Our favourite place was The Loft for coffee etc just around the corner from the house. We loved everything about our accommodation and looking forward to going there again. We would very much recommend it. P.s lovely welcome pack but would benefit from some milk and water too.

Excellent stay
We had the most enjoyable week staying in this wonderful house. Excellent sea views from almost every window. Superbly furnished and equipped we wanted for nothing. It was more than a ‘home from home’. We enjoyed the welcome pack of scones, jam and cream very much. The position of the house within Coverack is great and very convenient with only a short walk to the harbour, shop, fish & chips and local pub. The off road car parking for two cars across from the house was very convenient. We highly recommend this as a place to stay - you won’t be disappointed.

Well appointed house with amazing views.
The house is a perfect retreat to get away from it all but so close to amenities, small shops and places to eat. The house is comfortable with everything you need. It would have been useful to have a shed to put our dirty walking boots in. We hope to return soon.

Wonderful house with sea views in Coverack
We really enjoyed our autumn break! The house is on a very quiet road, steps away from the South West Coast Path. Sea views are extensive in various directions, the Morse Oven works really well, although it is not necessary to use it, as the central heating is very good. Kitchen is well kitted out, I imagine even with a full house, you would be very comfortable.

Missing those views already!
We had a delightful stay at Porthvean - what a lovely house and beautiful part of the country! Those views are just stunning! Coverack is a delightful little place. Local establishments (restaurant, cafe, shop etc.) are taking social distancing very seriously, it was all very well-managed, which was very comforting to see. The house is literally right on the southwest coast path, so it was perfect for walking along the coast. Porthbeer Cove was a particular favourite for a relatively short, stunning walk. Porthvean is also very well placed for a number of must-do’s on the Lizard peninsula. The kitchen was very well equipped - bonus points for having a decent set of knives! We are very much looking forward to visiting again next year !

Covid 19 Break
Because of Coronavirus we weren't sure we would be able to come but the Lockdown came to an end just as our holiday was due. So it was a welcome relief for all of us to just be able to have a change of scenery. Two of our party had to work some of the time but they loved being able to look out at the great view from the house; a view of sun, sea, rocks and container ships. The rest of us went to the beach, visited Falmouth and St Ives and walked some of the many walks accessible from the house. Our favourite places were Kynance Cove, St Just and Godrevy. The house was perfect for all of us, 6 adults, a 4 year old and an under 2 year old. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need and there was plenty of room. There are stair gates, a cot and High Chair. There's even a wine fridge which we stuffed. Because of Covid 19 eating out was difficult but we could get local fish and chips (and a vegan option) and have a drink outside the pub. We brought most of our food with us and topped up at the local, very well stocked store. We also brought with us a BBQ, but if you do that, watch out for the local thieving cat! The play area opposite us was opened on the Monday and after polishing the slide so it was slippy, the kids made full use of it. Coverack is beautiful and very peaceful and we will definitely return. We enjoyed every minute and were sad to leave. You do have to remember though that life is not as it was. Some Cornish residents were wary of us incomers, you can't just eat where and when you want or get what you want so you have to come prepared. And wherever you go, if it involves paying (such as the Seal Sanctuary or St Michaels Mount) you have to pre-book a slot. And there were signs everywhere asking you not to litter but people were very prepared and good about social distancing and keeping everything clean. That was very reassuring.

A very special house
'Porthvean' is a truly wonderful holiday house. Coverack is a charming, authentic Cornish village and the house is slap bang in the heart of it. The layout of the house is perfect for a shared holiday experience, being open plan on the ground floor, with a comfy, appealing, classy feel. Three of the four bedrooms have sea views, with the two at the front of the house feeling particularly special. Everything about the property was just as you would hope for. We cannot recommend it highly enough and will definitely be returning. Thank you, Sarah, and for all your helpful assistance too.

Fabulous Top Class Accommodation in an idyllic location
The house is just superb and very spacious; it has everything that you need (and more) for a holiday let. The owners have thought of everything and all fittings are of a high spec. The beds are so comfy and the showers very powerful. The outside shower is a great idea. The instructions provided are most helpful and there is so much to see and do in the local area. The views from the house are just amazing and a few mins walk to the harbour, beach, local shop (which is well stocked), excellent restaurant, fab café and also kayak and wet suit rental. You will not be disappointed..........I cannot wait to return!

Beautiful house in stunning location
The accommodation is spacious with all the facilities you could need. Views of the sea and coast surround the house which has a lovely modern interior. Located central to Coverack village and private off road parking its perfect if you want to stay out of the car as often as possible, walk around the fabulous village and walk to the various coves and beaches along the coast path. We had a fantastic week with the two children and have still got the holiday blues now back in London a week later!

We had a wonderful stay, the house was beautifully equipped, comfortable and perfect for a family !
We really enjoyed our stay, perfect for a family group and close to the lovely village of Coverack. The house was well equipped and very comfy with stunning sea views from every window! The only two comments I'd like to add are, that as some of our party were coming by rail and plane, it would have been so much easier not to have to bring bulky towels, we would have happily paid extra for towels to be provided in the house. Also, it would be very helpful if you could put the dimensions of the travel cot on the list of items, as our mattress was too big. We ordered another on line which came the next day.... However, I couldn't recommend the house highly enough, we had a marvellous holiday! Thank you!

My husband and I live in Kent but regularly stay at the property so we maintain it to the high standards we would expect. We love to escape to the hidden away location of the village and immerse ourselves in the uniqueness of the place.

Why they chose this property

We know Coverack well, in fact I have been going there for family holidays all my life and have fond memories of happy summers there. My parents rented this property when I was a child and I took my first steps steadying myself on the granite birdbath in the garden. We bought the house in 2014 and then had it completely renovated. It is centrally located just minutes from the shops and the beach with the route of the South West Coast Path right outside the door.

What makes this property unique

The house is very conveniently located. It is minutes away from the harbour, restaurants and village shop. It also has the added advantage of a dedicated parking area for 2 medium sized cars. There are stunning sea views stretching from the beach round to Chynhalls Point. The house has recently been renovated to a high standard throughout.
