This place was AMAZING, and we loved our time here! My fiancé and I were looking for a place where we could stay for about a month (so we could get a monthly discount), and when we found this place we knew it was perfect.
We decided to work two weeks remotely, and then took two weeks of vacation. Everything about this place was fantastic - for the working remote part, the wi-fi was strong, there were plenty of indoor and outdoor seating areas to take calls, and you can't beat the view from your "office". We stayed on central time so we saw the sunrise over the mountains every morning, and then got to walk down to the beach for the sunsets. So great! For the vacation half, there was so much to do that was outside in the nearby areas, and with the beach across the street and the mountains in your backyard, you can't go wrong. This place is seriously a gem, and Melissa and her dad were fantastic hosts.
While there is so much that I could say about our stay that we loved, here were a few highlights for us:
- Melissa and her dad were very responsive. If we had a question, they answered it. When we locked ourselves out of the house once (whoops!) they come let us in. They certainly gave us our privacy, but were very helpful when we needed it.
- The location is fantastic. It's right across the street from the beach, and there is a hiking trail that heads up the mountain just off of the patio area. There are also plenty of hikes that you can do that are walking distance from the house or a very short drive away.
- The house is stocked with lots of little thoughtful details, so you feel like you have all of the amenities of home. Some things that we found especially helpful were beach chairs, a beach umbrella, beach towels, a tablecloth for an outdoor picnic, a blow dryer, a washer/dryer (and even a laundry basket!), a well-stocked kitchen with plenty of the equipment to cook/bake/etc, an outdoor grill, and very comfy beds.
- It's a perfect space for COVID. The space was very clean, plenty of extra cleaning supplies were provided, and you could probably go days without seeing anyone if you want :)
- It's a non-profit nature preserve, so it's helping to keep the coastline/mountain area undeveloped. Yay!
We hope to come back some day and enjoy this space again. Cheers and thank you!
