Family had good weekend stay. Amenities as advertised. No complaints, except for pillows. Favorite place for food was Bernie's Place in Rosalie about 10 miles away.
We stayed here for our visit over Thanksgiving. The views are breathtaking. The house is gorgeous and looks exactly as pictured. Hosts were more than accomodating and very friendly. We loved that there was a fully stocked game cabinet with plenty of options. We define used them every night of the stay. Highly recommend staying here if you're in the area.
This is only our second VRBO rental and it was absolutely perfect! Really close to town, had everything needed to stay in and enjoy this gorgeous view of the mountain and river! I would 100% recommend to a friend and would definitely consider staying here again!
We enjoyed the house and scenic location. It was a short but relaxing stay. Groceries are a 10 minute drive. The weather was great which added to the enjoyment and ability to enjoy the outdoors and firepit. There was room for the 8 of us to spread out. I will consider this location again if we need a place in the area again.
We absolutely loved staying in this home and the properties breathtaking views. Michele gave us permission to hold our son and daughter-in-laws baby shower here during our stay, and it was absolutely perfect! We will definitely be back!
We really enjoyed our weekend stay at the eagles nest. We just couldn’t get over the view! It’s incredible in person. The house was very spacious, comfortable, and clean. We plan to come back again.
Feels very private and calm. The view goes on for days and the birds almost seem to want to show off. It rained for a portion of our trip and it didnt even matter. The level of cozy is rediculous if you just need some quiet time.
We had a great stay at Eagles Nest! The location is perfect for the hiking trails we did, trips into Scottsboro for meals and supplies, and a visit to Huntsville. Michelle was a wonderful host with good communication and quick replies, and a lot of nice little touches to make our stay even better. But the best part of Eagles Nest is the view - you can't beat it!
We had a wonderful Memorial weekend at this property. The view is worth every penny. The kitchen was well equipped with tools, appliances, and spices to be able to cook. The bathrooms were well stocked with towels and toilet paper. The best part we experienced was sitting outside on the deck in the morning with coffee and evening with wine. We had a crazy storm blow in on our last night and the vantage point to watch it from the living room was incredible. The host was communicative and timely in response. Would love to visit again.
We didn't know what to expect upon arrival, but the view that greeted us when exiting the car was absolutely astonishing and jaw-dropping. The views, the property, and the host did not disappoint. We had an amazing stay with plenty of room to relax, sleep, and enjoy the outdoors. We played horseshoes, had an Easter egg hunt (it was Easter weekend), and just relaxed with family and friends by the large fire pit. We even saw 2 bald eagles and a golden eagle during our stay. At one point, my son even said he'd like to buy this place some day. My family and I highly recommend Eagle's Nest, you will not be disappointed in everything it has to offer!
The house has such a cool layout, amazing ceilings and clean, very well stocked kitchen. We didn’t love the shaggy carpet and the positioning of the furniture left me somewhat puzzled in the main living room. But the space was super- and the views made up for absolutely the details that didn’t truly matter.
Me and some friends stayed for a weekend getaway to do some fishing on Guntersville. The home is super nice and the view on top of the mountain of the lake is amazing. Everything was very clean and spacious. I for sure will come back again.
The only issue we had was finding a receptacle outside to charge the boat batteries. We had to go get a 150’ extension cord so we could plug to the house outside near the front door. So, if your bringing a boat, make sure you have a decent extension cord length.
This is a difficult rating for me. The house is large and has an amazing view. The carpet is a little beyond is useful life. The kitchen is stocked very well, less a basting brush for the very nice Weber Grill on the deck. This trip was Christmas gift to my son and his family. After driving 6 hours in a horrible rainstorm I arrived first to find both sides of the house at 56 degrees. I set the thermostats to 72. I messaged Michelle about the temp. By the time we were ready to sleep the "downstairs" side (2 steps down from foyer) was mid 60s but the "upstairs" side (4 steps up from foyer)was 59. There was no air blowing from the registers on the upstairs side of the house. Michelle told me it would take awhile for the house to warm up after being 56. My grandkids were unable to sleep in the rooms on the upstairs side and moved to the floor on the downstairs aide. The next two days gave us outdoor temps in the 60s and we were able to use the large upstairs den and bedrooms even though the upstairs never got above 69 degrees that we recall. The next night dropped to the 40s and the upstairs was not a place to sleep. I again conveyed that no air was coming from the vents/registers. When my son saw that temps were going to drop into low 30s he packed up his family and drove home. I stayed the next two nights because my daughter and her family were coming to meet me at a different VRBO. I relocated to the main bedroom "downstairs" to be warm while upstairs hit 49.
This was the perfect location for a late Fall quick getaway. The view is simply beautiful and calming and the venue is homey and peaceful.
Though it didn't apply to this trip for us, it would be great for a family because the master bedroom separated from the other bedrooms and there is plenty of space for everyone. There are a number of family board style games, a horseshoe pit, and plenty of deck space.
The home layout is not modern but the beds had memory foam mattresses, the kitchen is ready for whatever you want to do, and the overall feel is just charming. The feeling is so relaxing you'll just want to sink in a chair overlooking the river, inside or outside. If you need to stay connected, the WiFi was top notch.
One day we ended up deciding to get some easy to prepare food from the relatively nearby new Publix and kicking back to watch the sunset then a movie on the well set up big screen TV. The home was the perfect place to slow down and unwind.
I highly recommend this location to people who want to forget the city for a little while, enjoy quiet time with family or friends, and feel renewed by an incredible view over the TN River.
View was beautiful and the location had a small town friendliness that's hard to find. Michelle was a great hostess too. Be sure to visit Howards restaurant in Ider for down home cooking. Great food!
We had an awesome time! It was also an easy drive back into town! We drank wine both nights overlooking the Tennessee River and mountains. The views will not disappoint! We went for rest and relaxation but you have plenty of room to take your water toys!
Eagles Nest was just what we needed! I had been a little apprehensive about renting a new listing with no reviews and 1980's decor. But I should not have worried one bit! It was comfortable, homey, well supplied with everything you need, clean and easy to get to with the most beautiful views! Michelle was so helpful and I appreciate her working with us to make this stay so enjoyable. New beds and bedding, lots of new towels, complimentary soaps etc., and a very well equipped kitchen were appreciated. Be aware that there are several levels in the home with 2 or 3 steps. We would definitely stay at Eagle's Nest again.
