This independant villa is the centre of a property of over 18 acres of woods and olive groves. It is on the last Western slope of Mount Albano, approx. 250 mtrs. above sea level.
The owners have carried out a rigorous and accurate renovation using only materials (such as stone) from the surrounding area and period while ensuring a structure which respects the norms of bio-architecture.
The living areas have been renovated with a careful eye for details - antique furniture, (some going back as far as the 16th Century.) antique ornaments, paintings, doors, prints and Persian carpets.

The outside of the villa is covered with tipical local stone as are almost all the houses in the surrounding area and keeps the original aspect of when it was built two hundred years ago. The garden looks over a 360° view of woods and olive groves , hill side towns and hills with chestnuts and cypress trees. To the North one can see the towers of Serravalle Pistoiese and in the distance the mountains of Abetone, famous skiing resort. To the South West the characteristic hillside town of Monsummano Alto. The road in front of the villa leads only to the few surrounding houses. All in all a complete immersion in total silence.
Interior design
For more than 30 years the owners have cultivated their passion for antiques and have furnished the villa with pieces acquired from auction sales, antique dealers or antique fairs (of which there are many in the surrounding towns of Tuscany, especially Lucca and Pistoia.)
The owners' taste is eclectic and include pieces from the 15th century up to the French Liberty Period.

About the host
Hosted by Alessandro

The owner, Mrs. Ann O'Connor Tempestini, was born and lived for nearly thirty years in Australia. Apart from the passion that she shares with her husband for antiques and art, her main hobby is reproducing oil paintings - copies of Flemish still lifes and portraits of the C15th and C16th Italian period.
Mr. Tempestini has a Law degree but has always worked in textiles. His main hobbies are searching for antique furniture (of which he is a discreet connaisseur) antique books, materials and paintings.

What makes this property unique
The villa is most strategically placed: away from the chaos of the cities but with easy access to Tuscan "musts". In fact, 95% of the symbolic Tuscan landmarks can be reached within an hour and a half by car.
Within a range of 15/20 mins. by car there are many places of interest to visit - the Giusti Grottos with their hot thermal baths, the Monsummano caves, the Pistoia hills and mountains (skiing in the Winter), the Svizzera Pesciatina, innumerable Romanic churches, the Fucecchio swamplands (of great interest for the local flora and fauna).
