About the Villa:
Nestled between the emerald jungle and blue Caribbean Sea is a private enclave called Tankah. Directly on the beachfront is Villa Coccoloba. The open concept design of Villa Coccoloba seamlessly integrates several outdoor living areas with the comfortable, and well-appointed interior. The property has marble flooring throughout. Each room is uniquely decorated with natural stone accents, built in cabinetry, custom made furniture and original, local artwork. Floor to ceiling windows and patio doors open up to stunning seascapes and ocean breezes.

Oceanfront, guests can enjoy the 6 hole putting green. A unique feature of the property, “Crab Alley” is a relaxing place to watch the sunrise or enjoy a putt over afternoon cocktails. A large, heated, in-ground pool sits at the centre of the property, surrounded by a pool deck and tropical gardens. Each bedroom is oceanfront and equipped with toiletries, quality linens, and bathroom and beach towels. High speed fibre-optic internet is available throughout the property. The house has Smart TV’s, a portable Bluetooth speaker, and TV streaming services.

In addition to the spacious indoor areas, Villa Coccoloba provides outdoor pool and beach loungers, bar stools, and hammocks to comfortably enjoy the sunshine, pool, beach, and night stars.

A Chef, Housekeeper, and Groundskeeper work Monday to Saturday, and if you arrive or depart on a Sunday. Their services are included in the nightly rate. The cost of groceries is additional.

The Details:
The front entry hall, living room, dining room and kitchen can be found on the ground floor. Off the kitchen and overlooking the pool is an outdoor dining area perfect for afternoon lunches shaded by a giant palm. The first ensuite bedroom is also located on the ground floor and opens up to the oceanfront putting green. A powder room is located off of the main entry hall.

The second floor of Villa Coccoloba hosts a master suite, third bedroom, and a large media room. Outdoor balconies span the length of the house on both sides, overlooking the beach and putting green at the front, and the pool and patio at the back. The master suite has a spacious bedroom, separated from a smaller sleeping nook by a hallway and large bathroom. The third bedroom has a deluxe bathroom with a deep bathtub backlit by a glowing onyx wall, and an open couples shower.

About the Area:
A collection of private residences, boutique hotels, small restaurants and condominiums, Tankah has the laid back vibe of Tulum, and is surrounded by natural wildlife. Visitors will experience a tranquil bay for snorkelling, a vibrant jungle for observing natural wildlife, and the waves of the Caribbean sea breaking on an ancient reef which is home to hundreds of nesting sea turtles each summer. A short distance from the instagram famous beaches, music, vibrant nightlife, and gastronomy of Tulum, Tankah is the ideal location for a relaxing beach retreat.

A growing community, Tankah has several restaurants within a short distance of Villa Coccoloba. Options range from beach bar casual, to finer dining.

A short walk around the point from Villa Coccoloba, visitors can snorkel the shallow waters of Tankah or Soliman bay and experience an underground world of coral formations, manta rays, and vibrant sea life.

Approximately 8 km from Tankah is the growing community of Tulum. Once a hippie enclave, Tulum is now famous for its beautiful beaches, vibrant music scene, instagram worthy locations, and world class restaurants. Tulum has two areas – the beach (the “Playa”) and the town (the “Pueblo). Lining each side of the single beach road are chic boutique hotels, high-end shops, and restaurants. Visitors can access the sea via the public beach, several beach clubs (for a fee) and restaurants. An ancient Mayan trading port, the Tulum ruins sit atop a high cliff and offer amazing vistas of intriguing ancient architecture against the backdrop of the turquoise sea and white sand beach. The town of Tulum has modern grocery stores, produce stands, reasonably priced restaurants, shops, and is the local hub for modern convenience. Travelling up the Coba road, visitors can experience inland cenotes, local artisans, and the Coba Ruins.

Only 40 minutes North of Tankah is the city of Playa del Carmen. Playa del Carmen offers shopping, nightlife and is one of the the largest cities in Quintana Roo. En route to Playa del Carmen are numerous theme park attractions such as Xel Ha, Xcaret, Explor. Along the way, visitors can explore the deserted beaches of Paamul and Xpu-ha, snorkel with turtles in Akumal, and enjoy the mystical waters of many cenotes. For the golf lover, the world class golf course at Bahia Principe is a 15 minute drive from Villa Coccoloba.

Relaxing Vacation

This was the perfect place to relax and celebrate. Hollie was the best host prior to booking, up until we we departed. Jorge cooked us the most delicious meals, and Dianna and Jose were always so hospitable. Hollie gave me the best recommendations from airport transportation, excursions and even the best photographer to capture a once in a lifetime moment for my son and new fiancé. I just can't say enough about our vacation and hope to come back one day!!

Stunning Oceanfront Paradise!

Villa Coccoloba was the perfect vacation paradise! The property is spacious, well-maintained, and offers stunning ocean views! However, the best part of Villa Coccoloba was our phenomenal host, Hollie, and all of the gracious staff. Hollie was professional and personable, checking in with us prior to our stay to ensure we had all the necessities for our trip. She even organized a beautiful birthday celebration for us, complete with onsite massages, facials, and a gorgeous balloon installation!!! Our chef, Jorge, was absolutely amazing! EVERY meal along with the delightful margaritas he prepared were delicious! Our stay at Villa Coccoloba was absolutely wonderful, and we will definitely be visiting there again!!!!

Fantastic Family Getaway!

My family and I had an incredible stay at this beautiful beachfront home in Mexico! We went to celebrate a birthday and anniversary and our host Hollie knocked it out of the ballpark for us! Even before we arrived, she helped us plan for a celebration dinner that ended up being beyond our expectations. Hollie provided great recommendations for transportation and excursions and was quick to respond to any questions we had. The entire staff was very friendly and professional. And we absolutely can't say enough about Chef Jorge – the meals he prepared were nothing short of masterpieces! Family members took full advantage of the the amazing pool, putting green, and kayaks. Witnessing sea turtles come up to shore to lay their eggs was an added treat! This vacation was an unforgettable experience, and we wouldn't hesitate to return for another stay!

Wedding bliss

We spent a week at the beautiful property for our wedding. We came down with our kids for a ceremony on the beach. We could not have been happier. The staff was friendly and professional. The chef and his team were world class. And Hollie, the owner, was an great help in every aspect of the trip and was an amazing person. Her recommendations for the wedding coordinator was fantastic. It was a special week for our family and Hollie treated us like family as well! We can’t say enough nice things about our host and the property itself. Great House!!

Such a nice property! We arrived at the house and were greeted by Nick to show us the ins and outs of the house. Holly showed up the next day to make sure that everything was good. The house is laid out well and is in excellent shape. Lots of natural light and big doors that open up to the front and back allow for a nice breeze through the space. Each of the rooms has AC and spacious bathrooms. This is the most "Americanized" house we have stayed in while in the Cancun/Tulum area. This is the 8th time we have stayed in VRBO properties so we have seen a wide array of conditions. You cannot go wrong with this house and the amenities! Highly recommend. Great staff that is very attentive to your needs.

A Real Vacation

Cannot speak highly enough about our stay. Hollie was an incredible host and made everything so easy and convenient. We were traveling with a few young kids and Hollie went above and beyond to coordinate an Amazon order and provided everything we needed. We were three families total and it felt like we all had space and privacy when we wanted, but also tons of communal areas to hang when we wanted to be together. Also, Chef Jorge was a dream - everything he made was delicious and not having to think about grocery shopping, meal planning or dishes made our week feel like the first true vacation in a long time. We will definitely be back!

Amazing vacation

The house was gorgeous, the staff incredible. Food was too good - we all ate past what we should have:) The only note which is mentioned in the description is that the beach is very rocky and not suitable for swimming, especially for kids. There is a small beach club right down the street that has a little better access to swimmable ocean and as it is the bay, no big waves. The pool more than made up for the lack of swimmable ocean for the kiddos. The cenote down the street was also a big hit but go early to avoid the crowds.

Perfect!

We had an amazing vacation at this property! Hollie and Nick are great hosts and they definitely went the extra mile for us. What can I say but WOW! I knew this was an oceanfront villa with a chef, but what we got was so much more. If you want fruit for breakfast, Manuel will make you an art platter..if you want coconut milk, Jesus will cut down four from the surrounding palms. If you are missing something, Diana will help you look for it. Planning a celebration? Host Hollie will make it extra special and make it even better. This villa was close to everything…ruins, cenotes, Tulum center. All A/C units worked perfectly, the rooms were sound proof, and the views were incredible.

A five star, luxury experience

We had a terrific stay and loved this property. Hollie is terrific and answered all of my questions. Nick met us at the property when we arrived and was welcoming and delightful. The staff is fantastic and Manuel is a gem. He is a great chef and we loved everything he made. We took two tours with Cesar and he is awesome. The house is even more beautiful than the pictures and the golf course out front was a lot of fun. We played every day. We even took the two kayaks out on the beach in front of the house. I had a terrific time and a terrific vacation despite the fact that my entire family caught Covid on a tour and had a fairly miserable less two days health wise. I would rent again and again and recommend this place to everyone. Two things to keep in mind: (1) use the mosquito spray that is provided. I have a ton of bites because there are a lot of mosquitoes around and it was pretty painful. I wish I had been more diligent applying the spray when we arrived because I could have saved myself some extreme discomfort. (2) the dirt road from the main road to the house is in absolutely terrible condition (I understand they fix it every 6 months but it is a dirt road and rain and heavy trucks create numerous large pot holes). The road makes it difficult to go for a walk or jog (although we still did every day) and it is hard driving. I provide these two helpful comments to help guests better prepare but neither item should dissuade anyone from renting this gorgeous house with the amazing owners and staff. They were so considerate that the welcome basket included dog treats for my pup.

Unforgettable Stay

The villa looks much better than pictures! The place is very clean, well maintained, including the garden, pool and lawn. They provided each of us with covid kit (mask, sanitizer, wipes). I was happy to know that there were yoga mats and some weights. Staff is very accommodating, food prepared by chef Manuel was fresh and flavorful. Hollie is excellent in arranging/ taking care of our requests. The rooms are very spacious, beds comfortable and the huge balcony and rooftop provided excellent views of the beach. Perfect family getaway!

Wonderful house and staff

We all enjoyed our stay at this property. Hollie and Nick were always readily absolute answer questions, schedule massages and golf tee times. Manuel the cook was a true gem. All his meals were not only displayed beautifully but all were truly delicious! The putting green outback was great entertainment for the home as well as the pool. Although beach was fairly rough outback it made for a wonderful breeze Highly recommend this home.

Phenomenal

I can’t speak high enough praises for Hollie/Nick and the staff at the home. It was a much needed relaxing vacation for my family. The home is in a private community about 15-20 min north of Tulum; far enough to feel relaxed but close enough if you want to go to Tulum Beach. Accommodations are lovely, staff is exceptional. The beach is not kid friendly because of the rocks, but great for sitting and relaxing. Let alone pristine beaches are a short bike ride away. We spent most of our time in the pool and eating the amazing food by Manuel. We will be back soon!

"Wonderful Adventure"

The stay was all that we expected. Villa was more spectacular than expected. All were very pleased with the accommodations. Staff was very professional and experienced. Manual the chef was outstanding. Meals were terrifuc and he was very helpful when suggesting meals. Diana kept the villa spotless and provided us with little extras when asked. Pool was very nice. View of the sea was outstanding. Property was centrally located the daily adventures. Nick and Hollie were excellent hosts. Provided suggestions for day trips, which everyone loved. Recommend the Villa and Tulum very highly. Can't wait to do it again.

Great beachfront home near Tulum

The home is on the beach and looks exactly like the pictures. The location is in between Tulum and Playa Aventura, allows you to unwind on the beach or pool by the house or travel for activities. The staff are amazing, house and grounds are super clean and Manuel's cooking was truly spectacular. Hollie is incredibly helpful both about the house and ideas/booking activities and always available if needed. The putting green is a bonus. Spent a week at the house with 3 couples and all had a great time!

Why they chose this property

Our dogs loved playing in the rock pools and exploring the beach of Tankah when we rented a home here several years ago. We fell in love with the sea, breezes and untouched beach...so much so we bought land and built our own!
