Hither Hills Ocean View Cottage - 2 wk minimum, no shares. Room to park a boat.

Charming 2 bedroom private house with water views in Hither Hills. New kitchen in Spring of 2020. Walk (or drive) to PRIVATE beach, sit in the hammock or enjoy the view from the deck. The house is equipped with: flat screen TV, high speed Internet, wood burning stove for chilly nights and lovely gardens. This is a corner lot high on a hill with one neighbor connected to the property. House has one bathroom (with shower) and an outside shower. One bedroom has a queen bed, the other has 3 twins. Two week minimum (Discounts for multiple weeks). Twice a year we can do a one week rental. Please contact to see if a week is open for the time that you would like. PLEASE ASK ABOUT OFF SEASON RATES. Note that we only take well behaved dogs of certain breads. Please reach out to discuss.

Charming, Comfortable, Clean/ Views!

My husband and I stayed in June 2012 and it was quite possibly one of the best vacations we've had. The owners are super gracious and the house was fully stocked and we felt immediately at home. The view from the wrap around deck is lovely and we made all of our meals on the grill outside. The bathroom is beautiful but we took all of our showers outside as it was sooo private. We used the private beach key and mostly drove the very short drive down to the beach- which was terrific. I've recommended this place to many and will continue to do so. Hoping to visit again this summer!

Enchanting

We spent an absolutely glorious week in this beautifully situated, peaceful, and secluded cottage. The house is well maintained and spotless with a lovely layout and the most beautiful decks overlooking the ocean and a fully enclosed private garden in which our toddler was able to run around happily and safely. We loved the location, near enough to walk to the private beach and hear the waves at night, yet far enough from the crowds and noise to really feel like an escape. The owners are so gracious and really made us feel like family! We can't wait to return... Irene C

just what the doctor ordered

My husband and I spent a week here and felt right at home. We were so happy to see the house was amazingly clean and the kitchen was fully stocked, but the main highlight for our peaceful stay was the outside grill and the comfy couches on the upper deck that overlooked the ocean. The queen size bed is comfortable, the wifi connection worked well, the beach was either a short walk (1/4 mile or so) down the hill or drive to the beautiful private beach. The neighborhood was quiet, no barking dogs, no high volumes of traffic. Downtown Montauk is a decent walk (2 miles or so) or a quick drive. Most of our time was spent outside on the deck grilling fresh seafood and steaks from the local markets. I would highly consider renting this property again and with some family or friends.

Charming Cottage

Our stay at this charming cottage for two wonderful weeks was everything promised! Private and view of ocean from deck. The house is in a quiet area in Hither Hills with lots of space outside to relax! This house is family friendly and has genuine Montauk charm. The owners are very thoughtful and make you feel right at home! We are looking forward to next year here!

Why they chose this property

This is a "happy" house and while small, due to the layout, offers privacy if more than one person is working from home (there is a desk in the living room and a big kitchen table with a heavy door between the two rooms). There are also two outside tables - one under a tree in the back of the house and one on the side of the house with an umbrella. That is besides the hammock, two bedrooms and upper deck.
