Peaceful and cozy home in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains with partial views of Lake Hiawassee. Enjoy time together with an open family room/kitchen/dining floor plan with floor-to-ceiling windows and a stone fireplace. This comfy home has 8 beds, 2 sleeper sofas, and sleeps up to 12 people: 2 king beds, 4 twins, 1 full/twin bunk bed, and 2 sleeper sofas. $155 per night + extra $ 20 per person (children incl) if 9 or more people per stay. Not per night.
Enjoy being outdoors on the wrap-around porch or the screened-in porch, and cook up your favorite dinner on the outdoor grill.
This home is located in a private gated community with a staffed 24-hour guard station. The private community features an outdoor pool, fishing pond, tennis courts, basketball courts, a volleyball net, an adorable playground, and a clubhouse.

Fun!

Plenty of space. So much thought went in to entertainment for all ages. We played card and board games, puzzles, so much fun playing pool, darts, and Wii baseball, golf, and Mario cart. Our youngest granddaughters had plenty of toys that were there. We didn’t even touch the huge movie selection but we weren’t there long enough to need them. Bruce was very easy to reach before and during our stay with questions we had.

We had a wonderful stay! Plenty of space, 8 adults, a 3 year old & a 1 year old. Loved the large kitchen living room area, loved the screened-in porch (used every day/night), loved the pool table & dart board. Bedrooms have plenty of room, large washer & dryer, lots of towels! Wished there was better signage & maybe solar lights along the driveway. Very dark at night. Overall, we had a great time & the house is beautiful! Thank you Bruce for making us comfy!

Calm and quiet

We enjoyed our quiet stay in Bear Paw. The community was calm and quiet. The cabin had a beautiful view of the mountains and the lake. It had plenty for things and space for the kids. It was very relaxing! We recommend the stay!

It was a great price and great location if you want to stay away from town but close enough to drive to locations. We had three small families stay and it accommodated us just fine! I thought it would be too small when I pulled up but when you walk in there is plenty of room!

A nice comfortable home.

It's very clear the owners of this property are conscientious and have provided everything for their guests to have a comfortable stay. The recreation room with games for kids and toy-box for toddlers was a thoughtful plus. Nice pool table. Super comfortable lounge furniture in the living room was great for relax and movies. Nice modern appliances including washer and dryer. The extra drink fridge on the screened patio came in quite handy. The gas grill was nice and new with plenty of gas. We did have to clean it before use as the last tenant failed to do so. The kitchen has everything necessary and there is a lot of storage so you just have to locate it. I recommend an inventory/location list be posted to help. For example, we found the pot holders next to the last day; had been using a dish towel up to that point. If you've done VRBO before you already know to bring your own knives, or at least a good sharpener; we brought both. Tried to buy pool noodles at Walmart but they didn't have any. About four days before before leaving, we found some in the downstairs bedroom. Like I said, everything is there. Overall, a very nice and relaxing stay. Cons: Unfortunately, the pool was out of commission for most of our stay and the community center barely open. The pool however is very nice. The grandkids got bored with the playground very quickly. Internet access is fine for surfing but a bit spotty for streaming; specifically during peak hours. #prime time #bandwidth. The location is a bit more remote than we had anticipated. Nice for quiet and relaxation; requires a little extra planning for grocery shopping and daily outings. (You'll probably want to have a cooler in the summer months) All-in-all it was a great stay and I would recommend to anyone who wants to get away and enjoy peace, quiet and relaxation.

We stayed here last summer with our family and we had an amazing time. The home itself is beautiful and spacious. There was lots of room for the kids to spread out and they loved having the basement and pool table as their area. It is a bit of a hike to any kind of civilization but that's exactly what we were after. And the driveway and parking is a bit precarious. The property owner was super helpful and gracious when we spoke. We are looking to stay here again which is rare for us because we rarely like somewhere enough to visit more than once.

Relaxing property

We felt secure at the property and even though it was in a gated community we did not have any noise issues or insecurities. They property was a little far from shopping if anything was needed (30 min drive) but was very well prepared for our stay. Kids had a blast with toys/games and pool table. Adults had relaxing experience. We would stay again!

Great Spring Break Destination

This property was just right for our crew. Plenty of room for several activities. Our 12 yo grandson learned how to play pool, and also darts. Was his first experience with both, so nice Dad could teach him correctly. Some enjoyed putting together a couple puzzles that were there. The view out to the lake was beautiful. Deck great for enjoying the sounds and sightings of the birds. Roadways nice for early morning runs (never saw another car in our six days there). The whole area was peaceful and quiet. Lovely sunrises from the deck. The sleeping options were plentiful and all were comfy. Our grandson especially enjoyed the loft. Everything we needed was available as advertised. We all had a fine time, and thank the host, Sam, for a great place to call "home" while visiting Murphy, NC.

Bear Paw house ample and as advertised

Our group of seven co-workers stayed at the Bear Paw house from 12/13 - 12/16. Seven adults (no partners or spouses) fit comfortably among the five bedroom areas. Four shared two rooms which was not a problem considering there were ample beds and pull out couches. We found the cabin to be well stocked with kitchen items, linens, towels, and other amenities that made our stay comfortable and accommodating. We particularly enjoyed having multiple gathering/hangout areas to spread out and relax in. We also were able to catch two beautiful sunrises over the lake off the porch - which was a well-received surprise. The well-stocked VHS collection was another unexpected treat! Thank you for the pleasant stay in your cabin.

Photos don't show the beauty of this cabin & area

Cabin was "spotless" clean, & well maintained. It has things to do for all ages witch is great. From small kids toys to a wii, or a pool at the clubhouse to a pool table in the cabin it has it all. The views from the wrap around porch are breathtaking & photos do them no justice. I/We couldn't ask for a more peaceful place to just slow down and relax. The cabin is about 20 mins from downtown Murphy NC. It is also very close to many river rafting opportunities, fishing areas, a marina, and a large dam with a park. My famaly and I will be back!

This house is absolutely beautiful, it has everything you need and it's in a great location. Beautiful view of the mountains and of the lake. In the morning we would see Deer out back, it was so cool. I talked to the owner Sam a few times and he was very nice and accommodating. I would love to return!

The cabin has more privacy than the other cabins in the area (more secluded) and you can overlook the lake at a distance. If you have Verizon you might have some cell service all others there’s really no cell service in that area. Really nice cabin; well worth your money!
