Only two owners during this property's lifetime Iis testament to it's beautiful setting. Prior to this, it has been documented that this very location was the choice of the Indigenous settlers because of it's unique characteristics. Tucked away at the very end of a bay looking directly down the middle creates a dramatic view of lake Muskoka. It has a SW exposure with the sun falling right down the middle of bay. So while others are packing up for the day, this property is at the peak of its beauty. It also has shallow and deep water, the cove has natural sand throughout yet also features a peninsula and boathouse with deep water for boats and swimming. The cottage itself is original and charming with wall to wall windows across the front, as well as front deck. Between the cottage and lake is a grassy area for day time games and nighttime camp fires (for responsible stokers).

Really enjoyed the stay in this lovely cottage. Great view and easy access to the lake. Very queit and peaceful location. Both kids and parents had fun! The ice cream at Bala is yummy!
We had a lovely time at this cottage. Exactly what we needed for a quick escape from the city. Good open space inside and lived the gazebo for dinners at sunset.
Lots of room and various configuration of bed ensembles. Clean, cozy, easy to find, lake access amenable, everything promised was delivered. It’s quiet, pleasant, very country-like
yet close to amenities. Million dollar sunsets, every night.
We chose this location for the kid friendly vibe, and it was right on. My four nephews + niece had a great time swimming in the lake and jumping off the dock, and in the mini kayaks. We didn't figure out the boat motor. Our family was bigger, and the fit was cozy, but this is what we bargained for. It was mid week, so we had lots of privacy for the energetic children, lol. Would recommend. Lots of fun elements, like the canvas tent, though they are in camp condition, a little beat up (but of course, with children, they thought this was great, lol).
If you are looking for a simple yet beautiful family vacation property, Sunset Cove will not disappoint! Kevin was extremely prompt and helpful with questions and went out of his way to accomodate our needs as some of us were coming from BC. The cottage was clean with all the basics covered. It felt like a real cottage! The property was spacious with lots of places to enjoy sun or shade. Eating our evening meal and watching the gorgeous sunsets from the screened in gazebo was amazing! The bay was incredibly quiet in spite of it being a long weekend. We are already thinking about a return trip next year! Thanks for everything!
After what felt like an eternity of Covid cancellations, this was our first vacation. It did not disappoint! We consisted of an extended family of 8 with children (4 and 7).
The cottage was a great amount of space for what we needed, both inside and out. The basics were available in the kitchen for cooking our own meals, as was the BBQ outside. A full sized fridge inside was plenty for our food needs and even fit much of the drinks. A screened area for outdoor dining helped with the mosquitos later in the evening.
The firepit and Muskoka chairs made for a pretty fire space. The kids loved the lillypad and the kayaks. A few small fish were caught right of the boat deck.
The owners of the property were very helpful and quick to respond to any inquiries. We would for sure spend another vacation at this property.
The cottage was in a spectacular location on an inlet of Lake Muskoka. It was very clean and private with a large property.
The DeLynn and Kevin were very easy to deal with and took care of our needs. It was a nice surprise when we checked in there were welcoming gifts which was a very nice touch. We enjoyed taking walks in the tree covered lane entering in to the cottage and found the neighbours were very friendly.
We will be checking back with the hosts next year to rent for a return visit.
Kevin was great to work with. The place is exactly as promised. Very enjoyable stay with one exception. The nosy Neighbor, we were a very quiet group who had a campfire each night. The Neighbor didn’t approve. But didn’t matter as Kevin was accommodating. Everything else was great.
The owner (DeLynn) was amazing, very helpful with recommendations about places to visit nearby and quick response to our questions. The cottage has a great environment, surrounded by nature and very paceful. We loved the access to the Lake.
For sure we will comeback next year.
Stay here! Location, location, location is amazing. Water with beach access, beautiful sunsets.
It was a breeze renting. Questions were answered promptly which made planning easy.
Cottage is quaint, rustic and exactly what one should be. All the necessary items were provided to cook and keep the property clean.
Loved it!
Thanks for the great stay DeLynn!
We had a wonderful stay at this quaint cottage on the shores of Lake Muskoka. The safe access to the water (shallow beach entry) was fantastic for the kids, and the water activities available provided hours of entertainment. Our 11yo spent hours exploring the little bay in the canoe! We were fortunate that we were able to use the fire pit most of the week without restriction and enjoyed a quiet glass of wine with a stunning view. We have already recommended the cottage to friends, both with and without kids! A shout out to the local baker, Klerissa at Breezzy Pines Countey bakery too - delicious!
Thanks you DeLynn!
