Great spot near everything there is to do in Orange (which is more than you might think). Comfortable, clean, well-appointed home with plenty of charm and character. Super-accommodating and responsive host.
My family overall enjoyed the property. While not fully clean (though they have high standards) most would find it just fine. The host was very attentive, constantly checking on them and sharing different local events. There was a cold snap and the host checked on us to make sure everything was still good.Don't hesitate on this property or this host. Highly recommended.
Our small family of adults loved this stay at a very old but well maintained and exquisitely appointed home. Our host maintained contact pre and post stay. We highly recommend it for those looking for an adventurous stay!
This is a truly charming property. Kelly was thorough and responsive. Lots of neat and thoughtful details in the house. Awesome backyard and porch/patio - love a good porch swing. Pet friendly. Would definitely book again!
We were so impressed with the home. We stayed for 3 nights and will definitely stay there again when we come back to the area. This is an older home filled with antiques and is just beautiful. We truly felt like we were at home. I promise if you stay here you will not regret it.
We’ve stayed here multiple times and it’s always clean, comfortable, easy check-in, plenty of TV options, and great owners who are wonderful to work with. Feels like a home away from home.
The property is very charming with period furniture and decor.
It was well maintained, clean and stocked with whatever one may need.
We will be staying here again when necessary.
This was our second time staying at this property and we just love this house. It’s very charming, plenty of space, well stocked, and comfortable. Owners are a pleasure to work with and very accessible.
My wife and I were thankful for having the house to stay in while in Orange. I suggest the following to improve the visitor experience:
1. Fix the water heater. It turned off two of the three days I took a shower. It is tankless, so it went from hot to cold and took a couple of minutes to reset.
2. Master bedroom mattress uses another mattress as a foundation. It causes the two people to roll together in the middle with no way to make it better at night. Finally used the other bed on night three.
3. Give house thorough cleaning, especially kitchen. Visitors pay to get house cleaned after use. Not sure it is happening as needed.
4. I am glad you have the directions on paper in the house. They were not accurate for WiFi or for TV operation. These are cheap to fix.
My wife loved the long desk in the second bedroom where she did crafts. Also enjoyed the back porch and the use of the laundry machines.
Wishing you well.
Just remember, the house was built in early 1900's but it is awesome!!! Not modern, but perfectly done and the owners were a blessing as we were running from Hurricane Ida
The house is so great. Large rooms, plenty of space. Has all you need for a comfortable stay. There was creamer, sugar, etc... little things that you don’t realize you’ll need were available for use. Check in was easy and owner was very kind, responsive, and checked-in to make sure we had everything we needed. Comfortable beds. There is a nearby park to take kids. Will definitely stay again.
Highly recommend this listing. My husband and I had an amazingly relaxed weekend of catching up with our sister and brother-in-law. The house is lovely, the owners are very kind and helpful, and the tranquil quiet of the neighborhood was exactly what we needed. This experience was everything we were hoping for, and more. :)
My Husband has a fishing tournament there. We needed boat parking and safety. We got it!
Kelly & her husband were so accommodating that they made a private driveway and privacy fence with a secured gate for boat parking. They even installed a special power outlet and lights for boat parking. The house was so lovely and had everything you needed.
We were so thankful to have found their place!

Me and my husband Monte love old homes, this is our first home we bought and restored. Our family thought we were crazy, but it was 1 of 4 homes within a mile of each other that we purchased and restored.
Why they chose this property
This home is right in the middle of downtown, blocks to the museums and Lutcher Theater for performing arts. 30 minutes to casinos in Lake Charles.
What makes this property unique
Lovely historic charm, sitting on back porch swing listening to church bells. Pet friendly with large side yard.
