About this property

Historic, Comfortable, & Walkable Downtown Apt

This welcoming one-bedroom, one-bath apartment offers visitors convenient access to all that Charleston has to offer. Located on the third floor of a historic Charleston single home built in the late 1800s, and set back from the street with off-street parking, the apartment overlooks candy-colored historic homes that dot the neighborhood and provides a true Charleston experience for guests. Easily walkable to MUSC, College of Charleston, King Street’s most popular retail and restaurants, & more.

Business License # BL007863-08-2017

The apartment recently underwent a full renovation, completed in spring 2018. Measuring around 500 square feet, the apartment offers one bedroom featuring premium bedding and a bathroom with shower. Thoughtful care has been put into crafting a clean and efficient space that offers all of the amenities of a boutique hotel (bath products, high-end towels and linens, hair dryers, iron, wi-fi, premium TV channels, etc.) with the added convenience of a full, chef-ready kitchen, washer/dryer, and a classic Charleston single-style porch for enjoying the nearly year-round comfortable temperatures Charleston offers its visitors.

The property allows for one off-street parking space directly in front of the apartment.

This apartment is on the top floor of the three-story property. The home features two additional rentals - one, a garden level apartment, and the other on the first floor - that can be rented in conjunction with this apartment for larger groups. Please inquire if interested.

Note: This listing is only available during the week. On the weekend, two additional bedrooms and their en-suite bathrooms are unlocked and it is available as a 3 BR / 3 BA.

This is a new listing and doesn't have any reviews yet, but this rental has operated solely as a 3 BR for several years and is a 5 star property.

**Absolutely no parties or late-night noise will be tolerated**

We are readily available to assist guests.

This listing is ideally located in a protected historic district in the middle of downtown, a 5 minute walk to Upper King Street, surrounded by incredible restaurants and shopping. Walk or uber anywhere downtown in minutes or grab an uber to one of the three island beaches that are only 15 minutes away.

We are only 3 blocks from Upper King Street, so most guests prefer to walk and explore the city. The beach is 15 minutes away by car. There is also a free shuttle offered by the city that runs along King Street (3 blocks away) to popular stops. Bike rentals are available nearby or you might enjoy trying a pedicab taxi.

We offer free parking on site or in the lot we manage across the street.

There are no shared surfaces or spaces. We are a family owned and operated business and care very much for our guests experience. We are available to help as needed.

Engagement Weekend
While staying at the Charlestonian for a weekend getaway, my boyfriend proposed in front of the Pineapple Fountain and we became engaged! It was incredible and the Charlestonian was the perfect and cutest place to stay while it happened. The place looked exactly like the pictures and was located in a central place to everything happening downtown, we could walk anywhere. It was clean and had all the right amenities. The **only** issue we had was the parking. We were given a map and instructions, but we arrived at night and wished that the map had more detail (like which way was north, etc.) We eventually figured it out and for anyone coming in the future: "Ladles" is a great point of reference. Overall, incredible stay! We will definitely be back :)

Great location and beautiful space
This property was amazing! It was in a perfect location to walk to the restaurants and other fun. However the flooring is thin. I’m not sure if there no way to better insulate but I was able to hear the upstairs guests engaged in coitus.

Perfect getaway -highly recommend
I loved my stay here. It was easy to communicate with the owners via email and text. They reached out first to connect with me and sent me a detailed picture showing me where to park. Check in/out was simple and the accommodations were so nice. It was so relaxing and I loved the outside picnic table. It’s even better than the pictures. I would definitely choose this place again and recommend it to anyone. We left my phone in the room after locking up and checking out and they came right over to open it up for me to grab it. Bottom line-this place is pretty perfect.

Great Stay!
Enjoyed the accommodations. Everything was exactly as pictured. Morgan was superb on keeping us up to date before, and during our stay. Overall rating was 4 stars due to a few things. 1) The bathroom which was my problem area. Lighting was not the best. Trying to see well while putting on makeup was challenging. The shower which was nice and small in my opinion should not be a rain shower head. Hard to navigate washing your hair when you can"t seem to escape the water not to mention trying to shave was impossible. With the vanity there was absolutely no place to but your items. Pedestal sink was not the option for that bathroom. On the bedding only problem there was the paper thin pillows. If that doesn't bother you (like my husband) then it will be great. Mattress was super! The decor of the property was very nice. Also enjoyed the picnic table on the front porch. Location was adequate. I would stay here again and would also recommend. Next time I would bring my pillow. Hope this helps anyone looking for additional and a true review of the property.

I love my family. I love my work. I enjoy what I do. I am proud to be able to share the fruits of my labor with guests. I am a general contractor and building owner that takes pride in 5-star authentic historic renovations. I find it hard to not laugh at the mundane and the extraordinary. Why they chose this property

Historic and newly updated, both high end and functional, this property is located in the heart of downtown in a vibrant neighborhood near Charleston's best restaurants and shopping. A fully stocked kitchen provides you options and won't leave you fretting the basics like for olive oil. Spread out onto the lovely piazza, soak in the sea breeze and consider the tales and lore this incredible city has seen in the last 300 years.

What makes this property unique

Location, comfortable, caring hosts, historic, piazza w/picnic table, a beautiful interior.
