RECENT LOCATION OF TRAVEL CHANNEL FILMING! That's right, out of the blue we were contacted by the travel channel who loved the property and chose to film some footage here!

Watch the sun set over the water as you sit on the back deck of this beautiful, recently renovated home. A large sunny lawn slopes down to a private beach: kayak in the cove straight from your own beach, or just sit on the porch or by the fire pit enjoying the view. (We have two adult kayaks and two children's kayaks for your use). This clean, sunny cottage sleeps 8 in beds, one adult or two children in the fun, super comfy CorduRoy Nest chair that pulls out to a bed (located in the livingroom), 4 bedrooms including a brand new master suite upstairs with a master bedroom with big window overlooking the water, adjoining sitting room and full bathroom - a perfect quiet getaway for parents! Also a beautiful living room, sunny clean updated kitchen, fire pit, back deck with gas grill and a Clubhouse - an outbuilding next to the main house - with sofa, ping pong table, cornhole, darts mini fridge and games. Great hangout for the kids! (Clubhouse is not heated so just beware that in winter it'll be freezing in there.) Washer dryer in basement. High chair and pack n play in the house too. WiFi and smart TV. Beach Lane Cottage is located just minutes from the historic and picturesque village of Castine. Also a short drive to Blue Hill, and just an hour from the stunning Acadia National Park and the village of Bar Harbor. Maine Maritime Academy is also just minutes away, in Castine. Enjoy wireless internet, and a firestick through which you can watch a huge selection of channels like Amazon Prime, Hulu, CNN, Sports channels and more. This house has both heat and AC. "A gorgeous spot!
Our family time here was so special. We took full advantage of the absolute coziness of the cottage and games in the clubhouse and campfires at gorgeous sunset but the bay at our backdoor was above and beyond our expectations - loon calls, eagles, gulls, tide pools full of hermit crabs and periwinkles and mussels, driftwood, sea glass, Fort Point light! Fabulous! Acadia is just an hour away and there are many beautiful spots to explore around Penobscot Bay! We were very sad to leave and hope to return! Thank you for such a safe retreat!"

5 stars for the right people needing the right accommodations

I perceive we were the first group to stay here this season, with the last known reviews/comments from October 2023. We rented it to house 5 people for a few days to prepare for a memorial services 12 miles away. We needed to not only be together to process the moment but also to prep sandwiches for the service. The property served us well. This place is ideal for families. It would house two couples each with two kids well. The upstairs area is probably better for kids than parents. I would send all the kids up there to play on rainy days. I'm tall at 6'2" (188cm), and it was right at the maximum of a comfortable space for me. The house is not glamorous in any way. It's just a relatively roomy Maine house that looks small on the outside that is clean and has enough design accents to not feel shabby. That is probably what most people staying here would want. If you're uptight and want to find flaws in things, you will here. You're better off going somewhere else. For example, the waterfront does not have a clean trail to it. You have to be willing to step over seaweed and rocks, which will keep some older people or those living with certain disabilities from going down to it. But you have great sunsets from the house and porch! The only issue we had was that the water had sat in the hot water heater for long enough to need to be flushed out. It had a strong odor to it at first. I don't think others will have this problem now that it's in service for the season.

Lovely, Quiet Ocean Home

The cottage is nicely maintained with everything four sisters and one brother over 60 needed or wanted. Plenty of towels, wi-fi, a deck to watch spectacular sunsets. If you have kids this place is good. A rocky beach was nice to walk on. Spectacular sunsets. My only caveat is that other than a few homes there is not much in a walkable distance.

Sister time in Maine

The house was just as advertised, clean and ready for us. We used it as a base camp for touring around the area, and enjoyed the amenities the home provided. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. I wish the weather had cooperated but you can’t have everything!

A lovely stay

I had a very relaxing vacation in this clean and comfortable home in a beautiful location. My family very much enjoyed the swing, kayaks, and ease of access to the water. I only wish I'd known about the Blue Hill Co-op sooner. I found it on the final day of our trip, and it is terrific.

Enjoyed our stay

Our family (2 adults and 5 children) enjoyed our stay at the Beachlane Cottage. It has access to Penobscot Bay via a short path behind the house where there’s a rocky beach area (with some sandy areas during low tide). The cottage is a short drive to the village of Castine and a good launching point to other spots of interest (e.g., Acadia and Deer Isle). The house was spotless and very well stocked with everything we needed. The owners Heather and Dave were very responsive whenever we reached out to them. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5-star rating is because the house is situated pretty close to a road where the speed limit is 45 MPH, so there was some noise from that (but traffic wasn’t usually too heavy).

Wonderful cottage!

Wonderful cottage off the bay, perfect for our family as we celebrated our son’s graduation. It was well-appointed, cozy rooms, super clean and had amazing views. We enjoyed the fire pit, playing ping pong in the clubhouse, corn hole in the yard and finding shells on the private beach.

Great place-lots of room!!

This place was great with amazing views! We stay in a different spot every time we come up to Penobscot and this was by far the best. It definitely would be amazing to check it out in the summer. The beds are super cozy and the house is bigger than it appears in the photos. The amenities were great especially because we travel light. I can’t think of anything else that the house would need!

Beautiful property!

While my husband and I went on this trip only with the intent of unplugging from the world and vedging out, I found this property to be incredibly beautiful. Inside was super clean and had the cutest decorations that fit well for the area. The kitchen has just about everything you need (besides food of course). I loved the comfort and quiet we felt while there. However, I can absolutely see us coming back with the kids to enjoy the outdoors as well! The view from the back door is something out of a postcard. If I were able to wake up early, I'm sure the sunrise would have been to die for! Theres a clubhouse with games, a fire pit, and even some kayaks to use. I'm sure we will be back again!
