Lovely Stay

Lovely stay and a very nice location. Close to Gettysburg and surrounding sites. Very clean, great beds and quanit home. Wonderful to see families fishing on small lake across the street. My family and I had a wonderful time.

Charming, Cool & Comfortable

This house is brimming with charm, is bigger than it looks in photos. We enjoyed a beautiful week in Gettysburg, and it was hot! How nice to return to a cool and comfortable house in the evenings! The kitchen is spacious and beautiful. Our family enjoyed cooking breakfasts and dinners together. The biggest frying pan is cast iron, and if you aren’t used to that or know how to properly season it, maybe bring your own. I also didn’t see a crockpot, but we had brought one. As noted in other reviews (and as the owner admits) there are ants. If you keep the area clean and crumb free (including the placemats), it’s not a problem. The pool table was a hit with my teen-age son and young adult children—they played pool every evening. We never made use of the nice back yard area with the fire pit, and my husband did a little fishing across the road, but mostly we enjoyed the comforts inside. (Do bring your camp chairs if you want to make use of the fire pit.) The beds and living room furniture were comfy. My kids all remarked on that. The downstairs bathroom is a bit of a tight fit, but very clean. The upstairs bathroom is spacious and awesome! We are used to country living and preferred this location outside the Gettysburg bustle. We watched deer come out in the evening and enjoyed the orchards and countryside; the drive into Gettysburg never seemed long. This was our most favorite rental home to date.

Golf trip

Smooth process. Good communication with the host. Unique property with a lot of character. Convenient location for the area golf courses and an easy drive to Gettysburg.

Annual Sister's trip

This house was perfect for my 4 sisters and me. Close to tourist attractions and yet private. The creek running close by was relaxing. Would stay again if I had the opportunity .

Quiet near Gettysburg

We had a great stay, was a great spot for exploring Gettysburg, and the kids enjoyed exploring the pond and nearby creeks.

Girls weekend

Had a wonderful time near downtown Gettysburg. We were able to drive for about 10 min to downtown and explore the cute town. The house suited us- enough room for 6 of us the have breakfast or play games etc. no issues with anything - easy check in…and out.

Great place!

This is a great place to stay if you find yourself out this way. We had an event and we were only 10-15 minutes from the downtown area. Great location and house, with awesome property managers that left a nice welcoming note! Definitely would stay again.

Great Place

We enjoyed our stay at the property for a long weekend guys golf trip. Great golf courses in the area. Property was well kept, enjoyed the pool table in the basement and fire ring in back yard. Well stocked and clean.

Peaceful & Perfect!

This cottage is nestled among the peach and apple orchards outside of Gettysburg. We enjoyed a couple of evenings in Gettysburg & a wonderful afternoon at a nearby winery. However, the best times were walking the village of Orrtanna and sitting on the porch playing cards and laughing. This house is clean, well-stocked, and full of charm!!!

Weekend in Gettysburg

Thoroughly enjoy the weekend at this house just outside of Gettysburg. Really cute and clean. Well stocked kitchen. Comfy beds. Great location. Host was very responsive. Be sure to grab some firewood (there is a guy selling it just down the road) and some folding chairs from home to enjoy the fire pit in the back yard. There’s a pool table in the basement! Highly recommend this house.

Relaxing in the Country

We chose this house due to its location near Gettysburg but also set back in the country. The house was charming and very clean. The beds were super comfortable! Located amongst very beautiful country roads. When you’re in the area, check our The Thirsty Farmer! It was a place suggested by the homeowner and the food and drink were fabulous!

Great little get away!

This home is located in the middle of orchard country a short distance from Gettysburg. It makes a great place for family to stay. Far enough from the busy tourist areas, but close enough for a short drive to all of the Gettysburg attractions. Very quaint and beautiful old home with a lot of character. An updated, modern kitchen and just a beautiful setting in Pennsylvania country.

Wonderful!

My family loved staying in this home for our long weekend at Gettysburg. It was very clean and in a quiet neighborhood. Gettysburg is an easy 10-15 minute drive from the house so it's a great location if you want to tour the area but don't want to deal with the crowds.

Sister's celebration weekend

Nice it was spacious for the 6 of us. The kitchen is very large. It is close to Elizabeth Ann Setons Basilica and Gettysburg. We all felt it would be a nice place to visit in the fall with all the orchards in the area. There is no night life but if you want peace and quiet its ideal.

Peaceful getaway

This was nice for what we needed... a quiet place to unplug and just relax for a week. There's not much around - just a pond across the street that you can walk around and possibly fish in - you'll need to drive about 10-15 min to get to a grocery store, and of course, all that is Gettysburg. But if you're like us and wanted a quiet respite away from everything, this is perfect. And there are some trails 5-10 min away for some hiking, so that was nice. The basement where the pool table is located, as well as the back porch, could use just a little attention, but the house itself is clean and comfortable and we had no problems sleeping :-) We spent a lot of time around the dining table playing board games. And the kitchen was large enough that all four of us could actively participate in the preparation of meals, which was also nice. All in all, it was just what we needed.
