Beautiful house in secluded location. Ideal for walking adventures, cosy evenings by the log burner and enjoyable views from the hot tub. Lovely local villages.

Amazingly remote and peaceful
This is lovely house is full of character with a stunning old stove inscribed 1752 and wonderful old beams and low ceilings especially in the kitchen. It is in an incredibly remote and beautiful setting; sitting in the hot tub surrounded by hills and fields is something really special. The track up to the house really is incredibly narrow and not for a nervous driver. We have a VW Passat and it did make it up and down but we had to guide the driver and in places there were literally millimetres clearance on either side! Goodness knows how the grand piano got up there!!! We really enjoyed our stay and thought Dent dale is a wonderful valley with river, trees and fields contrasting the bleak moors of neighbouring areas.

Property was not accessible by car, which resulted in a daily tough trek up and down the dale!
Hugely misrepresented property! Not accessible by large vehicle, which results in a regular long trek up and down the dale just to go out! By luck, we managed to have ‘a deal’ with the neighbouring farmer to leave our car in his meadow……the alternative would have been to park a few miles away!!! All very stressful after a super long drive and arriving at night!

Lovely cottage
The cottage is lovely, fully equipped with everything you might need, with great views of the Yorkshire Dales. The track leading up to the cottage is really narrow in parts and not suitable for cars with low profile wheels

Peace and solitude
A great place to unwind except the track leading to the properties very very narrow in places so hold your breath lol, lots of walking from the cottage and great views too.

The Dales visit
I can highly recommend this property for peace, tranquility and destressing. The access road is tight to negotiate so if you have a wide vehicle it will be awkward. But bring supplies and good boots. You will not be disappointed.

Comfortable, clean, lots of character
Our family of six, all adults, stayed here for a long weekend. The cottage felt spacious, the kitchen had all the equipment we needed for big meals, and it was brilliant to be able to walk in the stunning countryside direct from the house. We were warm and comfortable, the wifi was really fast, there was plenty of hot water and good showers. Minor drawback - the road is very narrow in places, but fine if taken slowly, it just adds to the adventure of getting there! We would recommend this house. It would be lovely in the summer too, sitting out in the garden.

Superb cottage in a great location
We stayed here during a week of great weather which always helps with any holiday. However, even if the weather had been bad it would not have detracted from what is a superb cottage with a high standard of accommodation. It is located in a good position for exploring the Dales and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing location from which to enjoy a beautiful part of the country.

Beautiful surroundings. Warm, spacious and clean.
It was a very nice stay at Blake Rigg. The house is beautiful with well decorated rooms,, clean and very causy The views from the house are outstanding. The only remark we had were the four gates we had to open and close when we left the property.

charming cottage in stunning location
Blake Rigg is in an incredible location far away from civilisation and a wonderful place to detox from everyday life. The cottage is very comfortable inside and the garden is idyllic. There is so much to see in the Dales that you could easily fill a week in the area (Bolton Castle, Aysgarth Falls, Jervaulx Abbey, Hawes for the Wensleydale Creamery etc etc). And if you're a walker you're in heaven. Just keep your fingers crossed for good weather as there is a reason everything is so green! We had 2 stunning days and 2 wet ones, although even in bad weather the landscape is breathtaking.

lovely secluded home.
The views are lovely and the position is very remote (only downside was the very narrow winding track to the property). Feels like you're stepping back in time but with the advantage of electricity and heating! Loved using the aga for stew and dumplings ready and waiting after a cold, wet walk. Lots of walks straight from the door and very scenic. Water is supplied from a stream but drinking water was provided in bottles. Might be worth taking a few extra bottles if you prefer to use bottled rather than boiled water as shops are a bit of a drive. The rooms are full of character with the beams, wood burner and stone staircase and the bedrooms, especially, are very pretty. Best thing for us was seeing the sheep walk past the windows and occasionally peep in! A beautiful, cosy escape from it all (no mobile reception at all in the area but the wifi connection was very good and there's a landline so you're not completely isolated). Very well maintained and spotlessly clean with a very thoughtful welcome tray to greet us. Really enjoyed our stay.
