Apartment Télébenne 4 offers luxury loft-style living in a location that could not be more convenient. Set over the top two floors of a building that is just a minute’s walk from the main Super Morzine lift (hello lie-ins and making first lifts), and not much further from a supermarket, an amazing gourmet delicatessen, and some excellent bars and restaurants, it really is the ideal base for a completely stress-free holiday.
With spacious open-plan communal areas, including a large balcony, as well as games room, sauna and relaxation area, and accommodation that comfortably sleeps eleven in five spacious en-suite bedrooms, we’ve thought of everything to ensure all you have to do is enjoy spending time with your family and friends.
It’s hard to know what the biggest selling point of this roomy, modern duplex is. You could start with the location — it’s just one minute from the Super Morzine lift, that will whisk you to Avoriaz and the huge Portes du Soleil area, making it a total dream for anyone who doesn’t like scrambling onto a ski bus, or complains about carrying their skis. There is also everything else you could want on the doorstep — butcher, baker — no, not candlestick maker, but supermarket, ski hire shop, bars and restaurants.
But the space itself is the stuff that alpine dreams are made of. The bedrooms — all en suite and with decent amounts of storage — are split over the two floors. One, that sleeps three, is on the main floor, while the four others upstairs — two with balconies — can be configured with twin or king beds, meaning it’s an apartment that’s as suitable for friends as families.
And, the living area is tailor-made for making the sort of memories that last a lifetime. Huge windows on three sides mean the main room is full of light, while a wood-burning stove in the centre keeps things cosy. You can just imagine collapsing on the sofa after a day on the mountain, popping some tunes on the Bluetooth speaker dock, and just relaxing with a glass of something chilled and white (or warm and red if you prefer) — or even taking your glass onto the wraparound balcony and watching as the light fades behind the mountains.
If the day’s activities have left you in need of a bit of TLC, there’s a sauna and wellness space (we can recommend some brilliant massage therapists) to help ease any aches and pains, and to ensure that by the time dinner rolls around, you’re reinvigorated and ready to take your place at the huge dining table and enjoy some of the excellent local produce (head to L’Alpage, just across the road for some regional cheeses and other gourmet delights.)
While we’re not going to pretend that cooking for 11 is a breeze, this high spec kitchen certainly helps to make it easier. There’s an oversized range with gas hob, as well as a cooker and microwave. And although there’s a double sink, you’ll find that the dishwasher takes most of the strain when it comes to clearing up, leaving you with more time to relax over a coffee (thanks to the Nespresso machine, even that’s low effort too.)
If Morzine’s nightlife doesn’t appeal, the sofa could well beckon, whether you’re sitting around discussing plans for the following day, or having a chilled out Netflix night with a film on the HD TV. And thanks to a separate games space with its own TV and Xbox One, there won’t be any fighting over who wants to watch what.
Then there are the practicalities — they’re not exciting but they make life that little bit smoother. The washing machine and tumble dryer so you can actually take home a suitcase full of clean, dry clothes, rather than have to come home to mountains of laundry, the private underground parking and secure storage for skis and a drying room for boots. The bottom line is that we like to think that we’ve done all the thinking so you don’t have to.
Travelling as a larger group? Apartment Télébenne 4 can be combined with Apartment Télébenne 3 to create 'Chalet Super Morzine' that sleeps 18 people. And, with two other Télébenne apartments under the same roof, a total of 30 people in all can be accommodated in the one building.
