Rock Ridge Log Cabin
As you pull down the long lane, you will see Rock Ridge Log Cabin sitting atop a ridge overlooking a valley. In this secluded setting with no close neighbors, you can appreciate the beauty of Brown County through all four seasons. Ascend the steps to the expansive covered porch with porch swing, bistro-style table and chairs. It's the perfect place for enjoying early morning coffee or unwinding with a glass of wine at the end of the day. Enter the front door into the "open concept" main area which allows a family or group to socialize together. The kitchen is new and fully equipped with an island for food prep and beautiful wood table where you can enjoy family meals or game time.

The living room space has a recliner, two couches, and a rocking chair where you can watch satellite TV or the warmth of the gas fireplace.

The main floor bedroom is furnished with a queen bed and twin trundle beds with an adjacent bathroom. Floor to ceiling windows bathe the room in light, and the panoramic view of treetops on the ridge is amazing as you step out of the bedroom onto a balcony overlooking the woods.

The upstairs bedroom with exposed rafters and rustic vaulted ceiling has a queen bed and love seat, and is perfect for relaxing and catching up on your reading. There is a full bathroom adjoining the upstairs bedroom. Both bathrooms are newly renovated with full tub/showers. Don't bother packing it, a hairdryer is available.

Downstairs you'll find a large deck out the back door which includes a hot tub , large table and chairs for outdoor gathering, a grill for BBQ meals, and a fire pit for enjoying the outdoor beauty of all four seasons in Brown County. You are 15 minutes from Nashville, 10 minutes from Bean Blossom, a few minutes from Brown County State Park, and around the corner from Gatesville. This is the perfect location to see the sights of Brown County or relax and do nothing!

All our cabins have a 3 night minimum for Major Holidays. Dog friendly cabins require 75.00 nonrefundable fee.

NEW – GAME SHED! Our area for play is open with a comfy sectional couch and Air Hockey Table. Enjoy games, puzzles, or just a get-away from the group in a heated/cooled BY NATURE, small building adjacent to the cabin.
All our cabins have a 3 night minimum for Major Holidays.

RELAXED FOR THANKSGIVING

We enjoyed our stay so much at Rock Ridge Cabin. Clean, spacious, quiet, everything we needed for our Thanksgiving dinner. We enjoyed ourselves so much and hope to return!

Cozy cabin

We really enjoyed this cozy cabin in the woods away from it all. We spent time reconnecting as a family getting into the holiday spirit. We baked Christmas cookies, watched our favorite holiday films, and enjoyed the crackle of the fire. The cabin was both roomy and cozy. We made good use of the hot tub during the cold evenings and tried out at least a few of the games the property had on hand. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Perfect change of scenery

Rock Ridge was even better than we had anticipated! During this safer at home year, we just wanted to get in the van, go on a road trip with the kiddos and have a change of scenery. Our stay was over the Christmas week, so the holiday decorations and holiday music playing when we entered the property was a very nice touch! The cabin was a perfect size for our family: mom, dad, 14yo, 12 yo, 9 yo, and 1 cockapoo! We loved playing games, putting a puzzle together, enjoying the air hockey and arcade games in the "game shed", hiking the area trails, and warming up by the wood fireplace indoors after a soak in the hot tub. The location is definitely off of the beaten path, but worth the beautiful hilly drive. We highly recommend staying at Rock Ridge!! We loved every bit of it--huge success! Very clean and the reservation process and communication was amazing!

Extremely disappointed

Hills O’ Brown uses VRBO. Weather was sketchy. Rain & Wind. Cabin very nice & secluded. Lost power fifteen minutes after we arrived. No generator. Drove to get dinner & trees down on roadways. Had to get out and help locals clear path to get through. No big deal. Nashville had power. Just outside properties did not. I have sleep apnea so I didn’t sleep but a couple hours first night. Went to Hills O’ Brown office in morning. I asked to be moved to another property that had power. Answer in short, No. okay, can I get a refund because I don’t want to go through another sleepless night. In short, No. woman was rude, acted like I was bothering her, huffed & glared, acted like she hated her job, & definitely has no idea how to treat customers. Her customer service skills were the worst I ever experienced within a business. Not the first time I’ve heard of employees being rude to their customers. As much as people pay, you would think their employees would treat their customers better. Will not use HoB ever again.

We will be back!

Overall, we had a great time! the property was beautiful. I really enjoyed how the cabin was off the road and you could not hear a single thing. Peace and quite! The appliances were were very nice and easy to use. How ever a few things I would like to see changed. First the Timer on the fire place, I understand why they have it and it makes a lot of sense, however it has a SUPER LOUD tick as it counts down, When you are reading a book or even watching TV all I can hear is the tick of the timer. They do make some that are silent. Second, the shower curtain in the upstairs bathroom makes the shower very small due to where it was mounted. If it was mounted on the other side of the wood beam it would of added 3 to 4 extra inches of space to move around in the shower. Last the check out process, I have no issues of having to make sure things are picked up and put back, however depending on witch check list you read in the binder it asks you to set the thermostat back to different temperatures. Also when doing the dishes there was a great dishwasher however useless because there was not detergent for it so that you could use it. I understand that some of these are "nit-picking" but I try to do an honest review. Overall, I will absolutely come back and we have already talked about coming back. You would not be disappointed, and everything covered in snow made it extra beautiful out.

Weekend at Rock Ridge

The cabin was lovely, cozy and comfy for our winter weekend visit. The kiddos thoroughly enjoyed the game shed too. We would definitely come again. The road to the cabin was extremely icy during our stay but a message to the office was answered quickly and maintenance appeared and rocked areas of the road and drive, which were greatly appreciated! Thanks to all involved for that.

It was just okay.

The house needed a deep clean from all the dust. The furniture is small- probably from ikea- not cabin appropriate. Couches are uncomfortable. We have definitely stayed in nicer and cleaner cabins for the money. We still have fun though. It didn’t ruin our trip. Will not be selecting this one in our future though.
