Excellent out of the way stay

If you want luxury this isn't it. If you want to be in nature and away from traffic and have the only sound you hear is all the sounds of nature then this is the place to be. My only regret is that it was so hot that I didn't get to enjoy a bonfire. Even though the cabin is older it was very clean and the owners were very responsive to our requests.

Perfect!

This was the absolute perfect place for me and my kids to stay. There wasn't a neighbor in sight and the kids had a blast exploring the creek. The cabin was exactly as described and had everything we needed in the kitchen. We would absolutely stay there again and are already planning our next trip!

Back to my roots

My parents, extended family born and I were born here. Visited family gravestones dating back to 1750’s. Wife section hiked the Maryland Appalachian Trail and she and our dog hiked into Catoctin National Park many times during our month long stay, Beautiful, comfortable setting to return to each day.

Perfect getaway

Wonderful little oasis in the mountains

Cozy cabin. Everything we needed was there. Including peace and quiet! Our little dog enjoyed running throigh the leaves trying to catch chipmunks! We enjoyed our hikes in both state parks. Overall, an enjoyable stay!

Exactly as Advertised!

We were looking for a peaceful getaway to enjoy the fall foliage…and that is exactly what we got! The cabin was cute and comfy, perfectly stocked with everything we needed to enjoy our time there. I could have spent my whole vacation in the hammock enjoying the sounds of birds and the babbling brook! The location was perfect, nestled in private woods just minutes away from great hiking trails. Evenings were spent by the fire pit outside or inside curled up in front of the fire. It was the perfect place to unplug and unwind. We certainly hope to return soon!!

Nice cabin tucked away from the world

Great cabin nestled in the woods! Close to Thurmont, Frederick, and Gettysburg - so you can choose to find things to do or just settle in, relax, and play games. There is no WiFi or cell signal until you get further down the road, so be prepared if it rains and you want to watch movies on the DVD player. There’s a small selection in the cabin, but you might want to bring a couple with you. There is also a nice fire pit and fireplace, just ask Deb and Dan for wood. Overall, the place is clean and cozy with comfy beds and a fully-equipped kitchen to make for a great getaway.

Quiet Relaxing Cabin

Cozy Mountain Getaway

We enjoyed our stay and it was nice to get disconnected, unplugged, and not be distracted by our "devices." We unwound, relaxed, and listened to the mountain critters. The cabin was cozy, well kept, and had everything we needed for a week of R&R.

Exactly as presented

Wonderful secluded location. Heavily treed, with plenty of bird song, hummingbirds, chipmunks and squirrels. The cabin was authentic, rustic and charming. The fireplace is an amazing piece of art. We visited 3 national parks, Fort Ritchie, and every farmers market we could find. Just as important we’re the wonderful hosts. They were warm, friendly and helpful. They couldn’t have been nicer.

Unexpected discomfort

Property location was fabulous! The Queen size bed was incredibly uncomfortable in addition the sheets on this bed were full of pillars. Visible pillars! This was unacceptable.

This cabin was what our family needed. Very quiet, cozy and close to several places to explore. 1/2 hour from Gettysburg and an hour from Baltimore. We enjoyed our time very much.

Be One With Nature

Wonderfully decorated with southwestern art this cabin is comfortable and rustic. Dine and hangout on the screened in porch listening to the stream, birds, and insects. Stargaze while relaxing at the bonfire. Hike near the cabin or in the National Pk or state park. Visit Gettysburg or one of the smaller nearby towns. Relax and enjoy!

Quiet and Cute

We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the Raven Haven cabin. It was a quaint little rustic retreat with all the amenities needed to not feel like you were "roughing it." We did see a few ants and mouse droppings in the cabin, but nothing unexpected for being in the middle of the woods. The kids loved the bunk beds and hammocks, and cooking over an open fire in the back yard fire pit. Wood supplied! The Moxley's were great at answering questions and were more than willing to address any needs. We are looking forward to potentially booking this cute little cabin again!

Rustic getaway

Our family of three enjoyed our getaway in the woods. We made campfires out back and swung on the hammocks. Our dog got to run and roam free which she loved. Great proximity to hiking, swimming, and history attractions. Plenty of day trip options. Sleeping quarters were a bit tight for my husband and I on the full bed. I would opt for the room with single beds to ensure a good night’s rest. Deb and Dan were very friendly and accommodating. We plan to return again.

Everything turned out great. Great remote location for relaxing in the woods but only 30 minutes to visit Gettysburg. Highly recommend!

Dan & I have always loved the outdoors, especially the forests. So, when he found this property, it was like it was destined for us to live here. & here we are, 15 years later, still enjoying our little piece of Heaven. Lots of upkeep & work I grant you; but well worth all of our efforts!!

When we purchased the property, there was this little weekend cabin placed on the second parcel. Dan & I lived there while building our home for when he decides to retire. If ever!

Why they chose this property

Some years ago, we decided to share the cabin & the quiet & solitude that we enjoy so much. Plenty of wildlife & birds to observe. The sounds of the creek alone are enough to make the tension disappear. It's just a peaceful place to kick back & enjoy yourself or a good book or reconnect with family or each other. In this hectic life we live, nowadays, it's nice to know there is a quiet little place to escape to Revuenate, relax or take a much needed walk in the woods.
