We had a rocky start with no a/c for a couple of days, but Oscar made that right, and we just made sure we had very full days in Yosemite.
The Sierra National Forest also had a lot to offer and the cabin provided a good jumping off point for each day of our visit.

Liked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities, communication
The owners are really nice and helpful. Place was clean and ready for me and my family. Would come back again without any hesitation.
We enjoyed our stay as it was very quiet and private. Our little dog was welcomed and the hosts were helpful and gracious. It is a bit of a distance to Yosemite.
We loved this getaway that's close to the south entrance of Yosemite. We were fortunate to be there just before the Washburn Fire closed that entrance this summer. Oscar was great and easy to communicate with. Everything was perfect during our stay.
From start to finish, everything about our stay was perfect. It was a delight to meet Oscar and Janice, who are such incredibly kind and generous hosts. Their home is perfectly lovely ~ cozy, comfortable and abundantly stocked with absolutely everything your heart might desire for a peaceful, homey stay away from home. I highly recommend and cannot wait to return! It was such a pleasure to meet you, Oscar and Janice! Thank you so much for a thoroughly wonderful stay!
Very nice place and hospitable hosts. It would have been nice to have a charcoal grill, iron and ironing board. Microwave oven needs to be replaced. Rotating platter style has been on the market for over 30 years.
This was the absolute perfect stay away from Yosemite! We enjoyed the quietness and peacefulness of the cabin after we accomplished 10 mile hikes in Yosemite. A quick 40 minute drive to Yosemite’s south entrance! This place is the perfect place to stay if you’re looking for a relaxing time in the woods. The hosts were nothing but amazing and so kind. Oscar showed us around the house on arrival and was such a pleasure to work with. Bass Lake is close by for dinner or a quick dip in the lake. We would definitely stay here again while visiting Yosemite! I cannot recommend Oscar and his wife as hosts enough!!
Perfect place to get away to get some quality time away from major city. Host were very easy to work with. Some items need to be replaced in the kitchen. Need to get a newer microwave. Get the garbage disposal repaired. Need small table outside so that we can have breakfast outside
Very private comfortable home to unwind and relax with nature
Set away from the hustle-bustle of fast-paced city life. Very clean home with all necessary aspects like utensils, etc. Spacious - can be two units for two small families. Nice deck and nature all around. Close to Bass Lake and groceries/several restaurants in Oakhurst.
Exceptional care and attention from owners Oscar and Janice who welcomed us in person and made sure we comfortably settled in. Thank you.

The owners were very friendly, and seemed eager to have us stay. Oscar even purchased a cooler so we could take our lunches and drinks on our outings.
The house was 20 minutes from Oakhurst, about 10 to Northfork, and 60 to Fresno. Yosemite south entrance was also close. The layout of the house was good. Two separate zones for privacy. You could sleep a small army in all the beds, futons and sofas. Bathrooms worked well. View was great. Some days the mosquitoes made the deck unusable. Windy days helped with that. Lots of cute quail, and deer on property.
The only issues were the furnishings. Most of the beds were uncomfortable for me, and some of the sofas could be replaced. Kitchen is ready for new appliances, and cookware. We mostly made breakfasts, packed lunches and ate out dinner, so not a real issue for us.
Coyote Taco was a great place to eat and visit with locals. Also South Gate brewery was great for beer and appetizers. Oakhurst Grill at the Best Western was surprisingly good. We allso loved Smokehouse 44, but it seemed pricey.
The location, views and privacy made this a great house for visiting Yosemite. Having fishing poles, trekking poles and bikes would be handy to use. We flew and couldn't bring those with us. This house would be great for a bigger family getaway. Room to spread out, and for kids to run outside. We spread out as much a three adults could, and we ran around outside some also. We enjoyed our stay and loved being up in the mountains. Everyone should get outside and Rock the Park!
The log cabin is a cozy & comfortable retreat in a beautiful place and convenient location. We especially liked the stone fireplace lamp in the loft, the curious deer and the amazing starry starry night sky!
Perfect spot to rent while exploring the park. It’s a bit of a drive, but the house was very nice and inviting. Room for lots of people, we just had 2, and Oscar and Janice are lovely people.
A beautiful spacious cabin and a great area.
We would definitely stay again on our next trip to Yosemite!
Oscar and Janice are great hosts.
100% recommended
Quaint house with plenty of room. Loved the owners. Enjoyed the wildlife and the location of the house wasn’t bad either. Sunrise and sunset was breath taking.
We didn't spend a lot of time at the cabin but we enjoyed the peace and quiet as this location is pretty isolated. Our 4 year old enjoyed the swing and my daughter in law watched the sunrise and exercised on the deck. The central ac was very refreshing and worked well...
Very neat and homey.
