Perfect spot if are wanting to explore in and around Olympia. Great bakery a couple of blocks away. Harbor just down the street. Warm area with plenty of places to get your coffee fix too.
Nice 2 bedroom unit tucked away in a quiet neighborhood close to downtown Olympia, and just a few blocks from a great bakery. We had a great stay, and will book again for future stays in Olympia.
I stayed at the Bamboo Hideaway with three friends while we were in town for a wedding. It was the perfects size, great location, clean, and comfortable. If I ever have the pleasure of visiting Olympia again I will definitely stay at the Bamboo Hideaway.
Well equipped kitchen and home. Dining table and outdoor area. Beautiful artwork throughout. One of the loveliest VRBO places we've ever stayed in. Great communication from host. Easy to check on. TV with plenty of dvds to use. Books and travel guides for the area. Will definitely stay again
Wonderful location with excellent amenities. It was particularly hot during our stay and the owners went through great lengths to ensure there was a working AC unit. Beautiful and quiet neighborhood and excellent host! Definitely would stay here again next time werw in town.
What a beautiful and tranquil retreat! You will not be disappointed in your time spent at this relaxing hideaway. Wishing we had more time in Olympia so that we could have spent more time together in Ellen’s home.
The property was very relaxing for our visit to Olympia to see family. The neighborhood was very quiet, and we especially appreciated the ample off-street parking. Communication with the property manager was very fast and helpful, and we enjoyed meeting and visiting with the owners who have done an amazing job with the yard to make it a secluded oasis.
Quiet, comfortable relaxing room in lovely residential neighborhood
A charmingly decorated spotless home in a quiet neighborhood, just blocks from a wonderful bakery. It’s ecologically oriented, and fragrance-free soaps are provided. The host is very friendly and responds quickly. It’s clear they’ve been doing this well for some time. It was a great choice for my first VRBO experience!
When we arrived, we walked in and it looked exactly like the hostess had said it would. Quiet, peaceful, clean. The kitchen was also well equipped, lots of condiments, etc., sugar, flour, things like that in the cupboards. Coffee, etc. quite nice
Great spot-cozy, well stocked, and wonderful location. Visiting son and his family - our 4&5 yo grand daughters enjoyed walking to the bakery and playing in the small yard. We hope to return!
Loved the duplex, very well appointed, close to everything you need and a 6 minute drive to our kids
Absolutely perfect for us, had everything you needed for your stay. Great directions for the TV, furnace, and everything you used. Ellen was always available to answers any questions we had. Close to downtown.
This was a perfect place for me to have a special weekend with my niece and nephew (ages 11 and 13). It was great to have a full kitchen with little extras and fun to have a little outside patio. We all enjoyed the cool woodwork and decorations. We day-tripped to Ocean Shores and toured around Olympia, including the capital. It was a home away from home in a quiet neighborhood close to the amazing Squaxin Park.
The Bamboo cottage is serene and ultra clean. Ellen, our host was so attentive upon our arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. Everything! Great neighborhood. And you gotta love the giant redwood in the yard. A zen experience🙏
My friends from Steuben, Maine, two stone sculptors and their son and daughter, were delighted with their stay! Olympia and Evergreen were the start of their West Coast College tour. Their son was accepted at Evergreen and was eager to see the campus and its organic farm. I was really pleased to put them up at your place, and woud gladly do it again when I have more guests than my own small place can handle! Thanks!
We used to live in Olympia, so we cam back for a visit and brought our granddaughter to see the area and visit friends. This duplex was perfect for this. Quite spacious with a small kitchen, but nice living room and 2 bedrooms. Loved the private outside patio. I would definitely stay here again when I return. Felt very safe and comfortable. Thank you to Ellen who even mailed our phone charger when we left it there. Thanks again and hope to return soon!
This is one of a few duplexes, I believe with the same name. We had stayed in a 1 bedroom last year but this 2 bedroom is larger, which was more comfortable for our family (son daughter in law and one year old) to visit during our stay.
It was easy to communicate with Ellen who is an excellent host. The place is clean and nicely decorated, the kitchen well stocked. It is on a quiet street within walking distance to a bakery. Compared with other VRBO's, the cost was very reasonable. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return.
Cosy hideaway in a good location with everything one needs
We just stayed for 2 weeks in the Bamboo Hideaway. Everything was as shown in the photos and communications with the host was great. The location is handy for downtown access, a great park and of course, the bakery.
I am not giving it full marks for two reasons: one is the master bedroom’s bed - we could not sleep on it as a couple, especially with one of us smaller than the other. We rolled to the centre and the bed frame was very noisy! The twin beds in the other bedroom were very comfy. We do tend to like firm beds. Also, though the beds and bathroom was clean, as we were there for an extended stay, we came to notice there had not been a deeper clean.
All in all though, we thought the unit was good value, good location and the host communication great.
