Beautiful location

The home was much better than the pictures conveyed. Plenty of space for a large family. We required the use of the two pull out couches that were not super comfortable but the extra space was nice. The owner was super accessible and answered all questions in a timely manner.

Beautiful place

The house is located in a nice winter wonderland of a neighborhood. The back yard had a frozen lake and we we able to view a couple coyotes across they way. There is a green belt path for exercise that followed the river for gorgeous views. Lots of space for the whole family.

Amazing lake front property at the Center of town

Always a little sceptical of properties that have it all but this one really did. Great location, amazing space and incredible fishing. We're a very active family and this place was perfect for all of us. We've been coming to Summit county for years and have stayed at a lot of great places. This really was top of the list for space, style and ease of use. Easy to get to, private yet at the middle of town and all activites. Also very easy to work with the owner directly. We have a wonderful time.

Beautiful huge house at great location

Fit four families including eight adults and seven kids in the four bedrooms plus loft plus pullout sleeper and floor mattresses. Right off the blue river trail where we saw a moose only half a mile away, and right on a small lake where we saw an osprey catch a fish from the dining room window! Home has some small upkeep needs such as windows but otherwise speedy communication with Brandis during our stay. Thank you!

Poorly maintained and poorly managed, a mess. Deserves no stars

Our family was extremely disgusted in our recent stay at this house and efforts to recover some of the costs have been ignored. This review may be pointless since it seems the owner has removed the house from your website, but for future reference I will submit it anyway. When we arrived at 4:00 p.m., the listed check-in time, nothing had been done to prepare the house after the previous tenants’ departure. Beds were not made, bathrooms were not cleaned, waste baskets not emptied, no clean towels. We could not take occupancy with the house in that state so, with assurances from the owner that the cleaners were “on their way”, we were forced to gather at a restaurant rather than the house having been assured that the problem would be addressed immediately, only to find upon our return hours later that absolutely no attempt had been made to rectify the situation! More calls and apologies later, the cleaning crew of 3 finally showed up at 8:30 p.m. only to quietly disappear less than 1½ hours later. The house was by no way properly cleaned and my sister-in-law had made up two beds on her own. The property manager, Heath, was surly and seemed very resentful of having to do his job. Four of our party, a family with two small children, opted to move to a hotel. The children were exhausted from a long day of travel and needed clean beds not to mention clean bathrooms and towels. The rest of us, assuming the bathrooms were cleaned and stocked, looked forward to finally being able to shower. However, we found not a not sliver of soap or shampoo, a first in our experience with VRBO. There are weeds two feet tall growing between the flagstones of the patio. There are loose boards holding up loose flagstones and there are many more loose, tipping flagstones throughout the patio area which are an obvious danger that is being ignored. We had planned to grill one night but the grill is filthy inside and out and unusable. The patio furniture cushions are ragged. The fire pit is an ashtray full of cigarette butts. The place is a poorly maintained mess. The only positive was fishing in the pond. I have photos to document all of our complaints.

Our group had a great time at the home. Very spacious and the views are amazing! There were plenty of beds for the group. We were definitely bummed that we couldn't have an open flame due to the fire restrictions in Summit County, but we made the most of it. The steam showers were a hit along with the 2 jetted tubs for those of us who were sore after completing the Tough Mudder in Copper Mountain.

Beautiful, lake front home right in the mountains!

We absolutely loved this property for our stay over the 4th of July. Right in silverthorne it is a great location to get to all other towns around you. We had our dogs out on the property and they absolutely loved the lake to swim in. Great trails, views and neighbors surrounding the home. We can't wait to come back and stay again hopefully around the same time next year!

Great Labor Day Weekend on the Lake

We stayed at the Legend Lake home over Labor Day weekend this year with a handful of other couples for a friend's wedding up at Keystone Ranch. It was the perfect place to call home between wedding festivities. It's located pretty close to the main town of SIlverthorne for any necessary supplies but feels far enough away to not get caught up in the hustle and bustle of things when you want to escape. It's a little ways from the ski mountain(s) itself, but it's worth it for the property. The open floor plan is wonderful and dressed in high end mountain furnishings to complement the beautiful architecture. There are so many places for people to sleep that we barely scratched the surface with our group. All of the bedrooms are tucked away so every person/couple/family has their own privacy. The kitchen is fully stocked and equipped with an oversized freezer/fridge necessary for big groups. The living space was very comfortable and created a very communal atmosphere. The lake in the back of the house is perfect for enjoying the big fire pit and catching some fish. The rainbow trout are plentiful and very fun for beginners to get out and catch and release a few. It was great to have some water nearby during the weekend, especially a private lake like this one. We thoroughly enjoyed our end-of-summer stay and will undoubtedly be back come winter to enjoy the place during the ski season. I would recommend this property to anyone unless you're looking for a true ski in ski out place on the mountain. Otherwise, you can't beat it!

Property 193659

We had a wonderful stay. The property is spectacular, very large and spacious and a great location. The property comfortably sleeps 8. There is a loft with a blow up mattress, which accommodates 2 more people. There are 2 sofas which are not pull-outs that could sleep 2 more people. The heat is via boiler and the cement floors are heated. This works well, until the temperature drops below 0. We were only able to heat the house to 59-60 degrees Fahrenheit. There are 4 suite bathrooms which are very upper scale and 3 nice gas fireplaces. The owner keeps a truck in the garage and only 2 of the 3 spaces are available for renter use. The kitchen is gourmet and there is granite throughout. We enjoyed coming to the home and would consider renting it again.

I was born and raised in Colorado and love the mountains and all they have to offer!

Why they chose this property

We chose Silverthorne for it's close proximity to so many ski resorts and mountain activities. We also love that you can feel away from it all but still have all the conveniences from fine dining and shopping.

What makes this property unique

Our lakefront home has the most beautiful unobstructed views! When looking out of our backyard you aren't looking at another home you are looking at our private lake then the mountains surrounding it. What a treat! We put a firepit outside to enjoy the evenings by and we hope you will too.
